Drove out there from the East Valley washed to try something new! My son had a friend over and we thought it would be a fun ride to go try something new! Great area, nice and clean inside. But the food was less than mediocre, you would think that with how small the sliders are they would take some pride and time to make them look appealing and appetizing! It's they just smack them together no care in the world, the buns were so soggy from just walking from the counter to the table that I had to rip the soggy half off of an already small bun!! We stopped by for a late dinner, and it's super convenient that they're open late. The place was quiet. The customer service was nice and friendly, which is always a plus. There's plenty of parking and the prices are very reasonable. One thing to note: I didn't see regular-sized hamburgers on the menu only sliders. They're basically small burgers, but surprisingly filling. I ate two and couldn't even finish the rest. The buns were hot and soft, which I liked, but the beef itself wasn't really to my taste. I happen to be near by so I decided to stop here. I don't usually do fast food burger place but I said well it is White Castle and far as I remember this is the only one around here. First time I tried White Castle was in Vegas when they first opened up. My friend at the time was having hysteria moment because he grew up eating them. For 4 slider small fries and drink for under $12 is not too bad I guess. This always reminds me of I've been partying all night and I want a quick bite to eat kind of food. These burgers taste like they just came out of a microwave takes forever to get your food you would think with such a small slider they cook fast. The taste is horrible upgraded the fries. They charge me for both when it should've been a meal upgrade, then tried to play dumb. I spent eight dollars on Fry's 21 for the overall meal. I would've been better off at McDonald's and I hate McDonald's. The AI drive-through doesn't listen. The individual at the window obviously doesn't understand cause I repeated my meal back to him. Look, it's White Castle you have to have limited expectations, but this place is increasingly a mess. I don't blame the employees, because this all feels like management issues to me. The dining room is worn down, none of the touch screen kiosks work, the soda machines put out flavorless mixes, and the food itself is... Well it's White Castle. When this place opened it was packed, now it looks like a crumbling mess propped up by DoorDash. I hope they get their act together and at least clean the dining room. It's a mess. This is not the White Castle of my childhood. So my boyfriend has never had White Castle and we were finally near one. We did everything right about our approach, late night craving, I mean this is what White Castle plays for. We pull up and it's an automated ordering board that you spoke to. Oh this made it so hard. We ended up simplifying our order just to get through it. We got an original and one with cheese for each of us. No fancy ones because we just didn't want deal with the order chat bot anymore. Sadly that wasn't the most disappointing part. Ok, White Castle has a distinct taste, I haven't had it in forever and I can still taste it based on memory recall, you know what I'm talking about. Well maybe you don't, because I don't know what I ate but it was not classic White Castle. These little tasteless sliders just felt like we were giving our tongues an unappealing oil slick bath. My boyfriend was very confused on what the hype has been his entire life, and I kept just saying this is not how they are supposed to taste. Awful. Just awful. There were six employees walking around, yet no real service. Long lines, zero organization, and the menu was basically nonexistent, only sliders. No fries at all because the fryer "wasn't working," and instead of apologizing, they had the audacity to give customers attitude about it. The service was good and quick. The cashier gave me suggestions as this was my first time eating at White Castle. The restaurant was roomy, comfortable, and cool. The bathrooms were clean. The condiments were all out, so you get what you need. (Big plus in my book) They also have an outside eating area with fans and misters, which is really nice, since it's very hot in Arizona, but sometimes you just want to eat on the patio! The only fast food joint that was opened past 11pm, which is kind of unbelievable for a town like Scottsdale but I'm hearing that's the norm. The sliders and fries were tiny and mediocre. Slow slow SLOW !!! AMAZING how absolutely slow the service here is, and how inconsistent the sliders are. Fire the entire crew and start over. I'm not joking. I watched failures after failure in the HOUR I was there waiting on an order I had placed via the app being a half hour away from the location. My girlfriend and I don't see White Castle very often, but when we do, we always have to stop by! This White Castle was definitely the nicest White Castle I've ever seen. They had automated order takers at the drive and they had a nice little outdoor seating area. The food is always delicious. I love getting the chicken rings and a couple cheese sliders. We tried the cheddar chicken rings this time but the cheddar on it wasn't my favorite; it was a little too artificial tasting and overpowering. The service at this particular location could have been a little better, but I also understand we had a fairly large order. She forgot our sprite and didn't seem too sure that our order was correct. It's been a while since my White castle road trip All of this talk about White castle during the week with others, made my craving for it, take the hike. I did not have a good experience with the food here! This place needs new chef's because whomever is preparing the food ...they sure do over cook it!!! The chicken sandwich was hard as heck too bite into, but would've been good if the outside was not over fried. The food was handed to me really cold but, I was too tired to complain. The place wasn't crowded at all but it took forever to get food in the drive thru!!! My guess is that the waitress held up the line by not checking to see if the orders were ready to hand out but instead she kept walking to vehicles collecting payments instead! Horrible way of doing things ma'am!!! The lemonade was horrible here as it tasted as if, they needed to change the filter or something. Service was okay. One of the ordering kiosks was not working. It was fairly clean for the lateness of our visit. The food was on par for White Castle. The burger patty was paper thin. They have certainly reduced the burger size to barely there. The only thing we really annoyed were the mozzarella sticks. It's a place for after hours for sure, just nothing special. read more

I like white castle. Have liked it since the 90s in Mpls. Today, I came to the one here in Scottsdale and the person taking my order was wearing gloves that were greasy from handling food. I paid cash so, he handled my cash. While waiting for my food, I see him go to cook station and start handling the sliders with same gloves. Disgusting. Also, no smile, no greeting and simply no expression as if he doesn't want to be there. Which is ok because at some point, we all have been at work when we didn't want to. Well if you answered YES to any or all of those questions, then this place is for you! So I am originally a Chicago guy, with WC experience in IL and just N of the border in WI. Some locations are newer and some should have been demolished back in the 80's. That said, I was somewhat excited when I heard a location was opening in my new hood in AZ. Well excited up on till I strolled up to the counter. Food: Not sure if its an AZ issue, inflation impacting all locations; but the prices seemed way higher than I used to pay just a few years back in Chicago. I guess it would be ok, but the food was tasteless and poorly assembled. Also some of the old staples are off the menu as well. I will give it another shot in a few months, maybe they will work things out.
