I have a 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis LS and about a year ago the AC went out on it. So I like to try…read moreto fix my own car because of the obvious its just alot cheaper to DIY. I searched the internet and found out it might be the (EATC) the electronic dash controller so I purchased one an replaced it myself, well that let it work for a few days. So I'm back to square 1, so I found out it could be the Blend door actuator, this Item opens and closes the doors under the dash that adjust the Climate Control in the Car, basically the AC/Heater settings so once again I order the part and find out how to change it out on the internet. 2 days of pulling the dash apart and got it done. Great ! AC for a few more days Bang it goes Hot again NO AC so after this I was totally stumped so for course I had to wait a bit and put it in the Shop so I took it to a local reputable shop and they Found a leak in my Upper AC hose, so they fix it but the only thing was it took them 10 days to get the hose because of Part supply chain issues, but they got it fixed a recharged Yay!! Right ? Wrong 10 days later it just starts blowing hot again. At this point I'm like Bull%^*&, and a couple more *&^%^%^. So I took it back to the shop the said they were stumped too. I had told them I changed the Blend door not long before I brought it to them, so they didn't check that again and they told me to take to another shop or the dealer that might have a better Idea about what was going on with the AC. So of course I was looking for to spending the Money I knew was going to be alot, mainly because the whole dash was gonna have to be removed to get to the core of the problem. OK here is were my actual review starts, I start looking for a few places that specialize in Auto AC but most of them were miles away in Knoxville so I was a little disappointed the next day I got a coupon card in the Mail from CarFix auto repair in Maryville so I looked it over and called them. I was Professionally Greeted by Cade Larkin one of the service writers there he was very helpful and encourage me to bring it to them. And he said they would find out what the problem was, so I told him I would be there the next Day. I was greeted quickly all of the crew there are very Professional. Cade took my key and the check out was being done, I was expecting it to be quick and I would just be on my way back home, still driving a hot car. Well they quickly found what the problem was, apparently...the blend door actuator had failed I guess it a common thing with some electronic parts. So I remembered how long it took me to change it the first time under the shade tree,, 2 Days sweating !!! So cade gave me and estimate and assured me it would be fixed and that the part would be under Warranty for 3 years and believe the labor was included in the Warranty for there service, so its like 95 degrees outside Id had enough of driving around in a hot car!! And I told Cade lets get it done, I told him I would wait a bit. He was very attentive he kept me informed of the progress. He told they could give ma shuttle ride home, but I ask if they had Loaner cars. He went out of his way to get one returned early for me. I had brought the car in around 9:30 am at the point that I left was about 12:45PM with the Loaner car. I was gonna do a few errands but decided to go home and get a Nap. At around 2pm I received a call from Cade telling me I could come get my Car!!!! The reason I tell my story is it was the Friday before the 4th of July weekend, this CarFix location was Great!!!! And they even put my New Car Tag on for me. This place is my new go to for car maintenance and repair when I need Service on my car again. Thank YOU Cade and CARFIX!!!!!!

Sorry to inform you Monroe Tire, the work your mechanic performed on my eclipse wasn't done…read morecorrectly. Everyone, I paid Monroe Tire for a motor mount and valve cover gasket. Soon afterwards there was issues. Took my vehicle to Midas a month later due to a significant amount of engine oil sitting on top of the motor and engine movement. They verified the work wasn't done correctly. When I called Monroe tire about the issue, the manager declared Midas was wrong. Took my car back to Monroe Tire for them to address the issues. They drove the vehicle decided all motor mounts were bad and thought best to replace all mounts. Paid for replacement of all 4 mounts, manager said he warrantied out a couple mounts still charged well over $500. Also, assured me the valve cover gasket was installed correctly. He said to resolve the issue with the oil he made an adjustment to the oil cap. The bandaid he applied didn't work. Left the shop and had drove no more than a mile and noticed the oil hand on my dash wasn't working. I've never had any issue with the hands on my dash before. Immediately turned around and went back to Monroe Tire for them to fix whatever they did wrong. The manager's attitude was on the lines of maybe I was lying. Not long afterwards felt some engine movement. Decided when it comes to repairing a vehicle, the guys at Monroe Tire have no clue what they're doing. Finally, I had to go to a reputable shop to have those issues resolved. And accept the huge sum of money I lost dealing with Monroe Tire. Just to let you guys know I'm very pleased with the shop that resolved both my issues. The valve cover gasket and mounts have been installed correctly. My engine no longer is covered in oil and no more movement.

More than once, a mechanic here has spent a few hours on my car diagnosing a problem that other garages couldn't detect (even after I described thoroughly) They are honest, capable, and eager to save your money rather than up selling services and repairs that you don't need (unlike most dealerships and chain companies). I tend to avoid small shops--I like to plug into a corporate structure. That said, I trust these guys with my auto when real work is on the table.

DO NOT COME HERE! They will SCAM you!!!…read more I brought my car in to get a diagnostic on the air conditioning not blowing cold at idle. They came back with the quote pretty quickly. Of course I assumed AC work may or may not be expensive depending on the problem and after receiving a high quote I needed to run it by my husband. Also come to find out they charge mostly the labor because we found the parts I needed online for $215. (My quote was almost $1600 not including the money they robbed me of) They said they still needed to charge me ($217) because they topped off (it wasn't empty) and recharge my ac. I didn't ask them to do either of those things, just to run a diagnostic which I would have paid for if there was a cost for that, no problem. I asked the man at the counter if doing those things was going to temporarily help with the cold air and he said yes. A lie. Come to find out because my issue is my compressor, recharging and adding more Freon was a total waste of time and money. That's $217 wasted on something I didn't even ask them to do. I imagine they won't be willing to refund me so all I can do is try to help someone else to STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!!!

He quoted by the job and I expected the work to get done under that price. My review would be much better if that was the only issue but the vehicle immediately started leaking gas. He came back out to see what was going on. Quoted me $90 for something that should've been under warranty and then tried to charge me 200. I spoke up and paid him more than he quoted even though I shouldn't have. 50 miles after he changed my head gasket my vehicle started smoking worse than it ever has before. I look under the hood and realized that he forgot to hook up, my crank case breathe their hose as well as the main coolant reservoir hose. I leaked out all my coolant. He has a 10,000 mile warranty so I figured I was covered but every step of the way he acted like he didn't want to cover it. It has now been a week since I told him about the smoking issue and he has scheduled multiple times with me and not showed up. He just texted back and told me that he'll be out next week to work on a neighbors car and he'll stop by afterwards (which will put it at 14 days). The BBB will be informed of this as as well as his insurance company and the Tennessee division of Consumer Affairs. Ps the neighbor of mine will absolutely not be using this service either.
