Delightful customer care here, friendly welcoming staff- host The place isxeasy to.find nestled amongst mansions in Smithtown- nissequoge. Parking is ample. Accessible and well lit. There's outside and inside seating It's just as pretty as the one in Fort salonga- Northport. Food is a good choice - pizza, cheese, chips wines are delightful o the most discerning palate. Red, white, and rose are all available here. The best part is the peacefulness of the location and the decor. Spent some time here, and they said live music listed on their site What a wonderful hidden gem off Rte 25A Perfect for couples, gatherings, office holiday parties, and even solo! Pet friendly outside... Try it, you won't be disappointed.

It's very cute inside and they sell really cute wine bottle toppers. Next door, there is a business that sells nice decorations and pumpkins.

Great wine and great food! Simple menu but you don't need that much at a vineyard so long as the weather is nice! Staff was super friendly as well! Unfortunately we came in on a day they were short staffed, but they made up for it in professionalism and friendliness!

Short staffed! I waited about 25 minutes to get seated then another 15 minutes for them to take my order. Honestly this was not a good experiences for a vineyard as all I did was wait wait wait. They really should have more staff in the place. Also not to mentioned the vines are across from where they seat you. Where I was seated in it in a floral shop with lots of empty spaces and construction did not feel like a vineyard experience.

Absolutely beautiful vineyard hidden on LI. We got here around 2:30 on a Thursday. Without reservations the parking attendant said they'd be able to squeeze us in. We walked to the back and were pleasantly surprised to see only a few tables filled. We split the Hummus. I had 2 glasses of white, Chardonnay & Pinot Grigio. Both were good - but the pinto was great! And I am not usually a Pinot Grigio girl. I was slightly disappointed that they only offer wine by the glass or bottle at this time. I would have loved to do a tasting. Maybe after COVID they will do tastings again? I will be back. For sure.

Pros: No need to drive all the way out east, especially since traffic has been so bad this year. So many cute souvenirs with wine sayings Adorable decor. Small and intimate. Indoor/outdoor dinning Amy is the best waitress! Full of energy and laughs Cons: Small selection of wine Small selection of cheese , not really any meats. Unfortunately, 1 of the only 2 cheese boards were already sold out for our reservation [4pm] Being so small, a lack of privacy in conversation was felt while dinning indoors 1 restroom... Nice for a quick vinyard trip locally

    2009 Red Cape Blend

First winery/vineyard I've tried out here in Long Island and I got to say, I've enjoyed it! Great service and options (but due to COVID flight tastings is suspended ). Due to the restriction and other tastings lined up, I had the 2009 Merlot, 2009 Red Cape Blend and the 2010 Cabernet Franc. 2009 Merlot was by far my favorite of the two! It was aged very well, smooth, a not so overwhelming sweet lasting taste, and the aroma was phenomenal! (My family and I love Merlot then Cabernet Sauvignon but they only had Cabernet blends, so we got a bottle of this!) 2009 Red Cape Blend, as you can see on the picture the colorations marvelous and the taste is smooth but not as much of a sweet after taste as the merlot but still a great piece! Some sediments on the bottom but overall a great wine. 2015 Cabernet Franc, this was what they're known for out here and the taste was very unique, and I may know why, I originally sat outside to enjoy some outdoor weather and it wasn't sunny so I took the risk, but it sat in the 88 degree heat for a good ~5 min which I feel gave it that hint of sour taste. Was very unfortunate because the color and initial aroma (smelled it right as it was served) was just amazing! I will definitely be back to try this again but this time I'll sit indoors PS I forgot to take the picture of everything because I didn't want to disturb the huge party there but definitely was worth the hour and a half drive out.

This place gets an extra star for being unique to the area and for being much closer than wineries out east! Spontaneously, we decided to visit here on a late Friday afternoon. The interior is spacious, rustic, and welcoming. There's also an outdoor patio area, which is perfect for summer evenings. We chose the long table inside because of the AC. We sampled the reserve, just Merlot, and estate flights. They were all pretty good with my favorite being the red cape blend. Our server was friendly, helpful and informative. We also had the French cheese platter which was fine but definitely overpriced for what was given. I would definitely return especially when I need an hour or two of relaxation sipping on good wine. I may skip the cheese platter next time though.

$29 bottle, delicious and was good for my table of 4

I spoke to a woman in the bathroom and she said even if you don't have a reservation, you can always find a spot on the grass or chairs. There's plenty of room to hang out. Our server Les was incredible! You can tell when you have a great experienced waiter that is truly good at their job and love what they do! Pay him whatever he wants and never let him go! He truly made the dining experience above and beyond. I ordered the Sauvignon Blanc and he asked me if I wanted a glass or a bottle and I told him I couldn't drink a bottle because I had to drive home. He told me if I was gonna have two glasses. It would end up being about equal to the bottle price and that I could take the rest of the wine home! What a nice surprise, and the fact that he pointed out made me feel like he goes above and beyond for his customers! Now let's talk about the food! I was in a party of three and they had ordered the appetizer sandwich for the table which was gigantic! Both of the other guests love the sandwich, but I didn't try it because I do not like prosciutto. The truffle chips were fantastic; I'm still thinking about them and I didn't even know I liked truffle! I ate 90% of them. The portions are massive but in a good way because the food is exceptional! One guest was so full from the sandwich that she opted to not order an entrée I ordered the margarita flatbread and it had to be over a foot and a half long. I ended up taking half home and my husband ate it and said it was delicious as well. The other guest ordered the meatballs and I tasted them and they were quite delicious. By the time the meal was over we left with half a sandwich half a flatbread and some extra meatballs. For dessert: we got a llimoncello flute and I got the largest lemon beautifully presented with lemon sorbet! I told us I don't usually take pictures of my food, but this was photo worthy! The wine was one of my favorite Sauvignon Blanc that I've ever had in my life! We will definitely go back for the food and definitely will be purchasing the wine again! 4/5 food 10/5 for the service and ambience Thank you for a wonderful experience on a beautiful afternoon! Reservations will get you valet parking, a table and chairs and access to various food trucks, live music...And of course WINE!! What started in a small shack in a small vineyard by Barry in 1984, has graduated to this beautiful family run place. Now owned by his granddaughter and her partner, I'm sure he would be proud! The shack still stands and Stephen behind the counter, was super friendly and happy to tell me the story when I asked about the gentleman in the picture. We had flights and purchased two bottles. One to drink there and another to take home! You're allowed to bring your own food (no alcohol) if you wish. We devoured our sandwiches from home and enjoyed the live music duo. What a wonderful, wonderful laid back vibe! Folks' just enjoying the weather, their families and friends. If you have fur babies, they too are welcomed! We absolutely loved it here! We are already making plans to visit again during our upcoming staycation. Family fun, romantic date or just hanging with your besties.... Barry's legacy lives on. Thank me later....

He took the time to answer our questions and made us feel welcome. I also loved learning that they hand-print all of their wine labels and apply them to the bottles themselves. It's those personal touches that really make this place special. The valet parking was also very well organized. When you're ready to leave, you simply click the link that's sent to your phone, and they bring your car around, so you're not waiting forever. There were food trucks on-site, but you can also bring your own food. It's dog-friendly too, which is a nice bonus for pet owners. Who doesn't love dogs?! I'll start off by saying that my wife and I came here on a Friday at the beginning of the summer to actually sit and have dinner, which turned out to be quite a tasty treat. The interior of FIV has a somewhat rustic/beachy vibe that works well for its Bay Shore location and feels at home on Long Island. It's got a nice bar and a decent seating area where we pulled up a table and were helped by the staff who were friendly and attentive. Besides the importance of good feels from the workers, the food and drink is where it might matter most and Fire Island Vines doesn't fall short of doing this. With a somewhat Mediterranean/Greek/Italian direction to their foods you'll find some delicious dips (spicy feta, hummus), savory chicken skewers, and crispy pizzettes which was just about everything we ordered. There's much more than that here and of course plenty of chances to wine while you dine. I instead ventured to the house sangria which was delightful while the wife had a concocted mocktail she really enjoyed. And, therein lies the biggest hint to why FIV will mean a lot more to us in just a few months as my wife and I are expecting our first child and the baby shower is planned for right here within these walls. So far all planning has been fantastic and owner Angelo has been very kind and accommodating. We're looking forward to our full festivities, but for now I'll wrap things up by saying this spot will be holding a special place in our hearts and so I wanted it to be my 1,000th review on Yelp to be even more memorable. In a display of restaurant solidarity , they recommended that we try Vinas Wine & Tapas. As it turned out, we have a NEW favorite in New Haven! We arrived a bit early and were cheerfully greeted by Mike G, our server. The atmosphere was welcoming and relatively quiet, since their musical offering does not start as early as our 5:00-7:00 PM time slot on a Tuesday. We had asked for the waiter Christian because he had been mentioned in several of the Yelp reviews, but Mike proved that the service compliments should go to everyone. First, the tapas: We enjoyed all five of the tapas we chose. The "Calamares" were lightly battered and crispy. The Vinas salad was fresh, with tomatoes, cheese, corn, and croutons. The pork belly was delicious and more meaty than expected . The oyster mushrooms were presented with onion crisps. The baked birria empanada was stuffed with brisket style beef. Each of these "courses" was a unique delight to the palate, and for me and my partner, it was completely satisfying. In keeping with the spirit of a "wine bar," Vinas offered a flight of 4 wines in 3 ounce glasses, and after hearing about our food choices and wine preferences, Mike chose the wines for us, giving us a chance to taste some less familiar offerings. We had the Felino Malbec 2024 (Argentina), which became our favorite for its full-bodied and deep flavor. Our second wine was a unique Don Abel (private label) from Wallingford CT, made by one of the relatives of the owner, specially for Vinas. This one reminded us of the local wines one might receive in a B&B in the Loire Valley in France. The final two wines were both from Chile: Reserva Carmenere 2023 and Cabernet Sauvignon Marques de Casa Concha 2022. Both were excellent wines. It was great fun to have Mike choose the wines for us, and we really enjoyed the variety that the flight offerings gave to us. Of course, we had to try a dessert, and Mike recommended the Toffee Cake. We had heard that the owner claimed that some people cried with joy after eating it. Although we restrained ourselves, we had to agree that this was an extraordinary conclusion to a fabulous meal. Overall, this was a great experience for us, and we heartily recommend Vinas Wine Bar and Tapas for a relaxing and welcoming dinner. Some reviews I had read suggested that the portions were too small for the price. I have to disagree. My partner and I love food, and this was plenty. And the price was reasonable. Including tip and tax, we spent about $75 each.
