Love how she captures her smile!! And the textures in this photo is amazing.

Denise, the photographer, has been photographing our family's and babies' photos for the past 3 years, and she is absolutely AMAZING. I believe her talent is unmatched, and I've done quite a bit a research searching for the photographer who can guarantee beautiful photos with every session. There are some photographers out there whose photos are just average, the composition wasn't right (too busy), or the colors did not look right, or the poses were off. But if you look at the gallery on Whimsy Tree website, you could see that her photos are of a caliber to be displayed in a magazine or an advertisement for high end baby stores (J Crew Baby/Kids?). Not only is her work excellent, but her work ethic and ability to work with fussy newborns and babies and mothers is outstanding. You can only imagine how apprehensive one must be when you're handling a totally naked newborn baby while taking photos; poop and pee can spontaneously appear out of nowhere! But that doesn't phase her at all, which makes you and baby feel more comfortable. She also has a way with kids that puts them at ease especially when they're cranky and they don't want to smile for photos. Or if they're cranky and crying, she can still take photos of them that captures those tears and you can feel the beautiful moment of their frustration in her photos. Overall, Denise/Whimsy Tree photography has brought such joy to the memories of my children and my family that I've felt her sessions are gift-worthy to be presented to any friends or families of mine that were and are expecting; believe me, it's the PERFECT baby shower gift if you don't know what to get. You're giving the gift of beautiful memories, and no other gift can top that.

Denise has a talent for capturing beautiful moments amidst the messiness and chaos of life with a young baby. She picked the perfect backdrop for our family photo shoot with our one-year-old, who happened to be sick on that day. Despite our daughter's fussiness, Denise remained calm and patient, which helped to put us at ease. She's quick to capture moments that may last for just a second -- this is NOT easy for a photographer to do, and it's a critical skill when dealing with babies! At the end of it all, you have beautiful mementos to treasure for years to come.

One of many beautiful photos my baby boy!

She gave us tips on how to take pics with our #1 balloon and explained everything really well, so we felt super comfortable. We also took pics at the photobooth, and I was surprised by how inexpensive it was to take pictures with the professional cameras (only $5 for 2 copies)! Even though there were still people there past closing, Hazel and the manager/owner didn't rush anyone at all and let everyone enjoy their experience, which I really appreciated. Overall, I would definitely come back again! My only complaint is that I wish we could adjust the camera angle because the camera is set pretty low and my double chin was showingggg (not their fault tho obv). However, the camera quality was amazing~ They also surprised me and my boyfriend with matching keycap keychains that I had been eyeing when I first got there!! They personalized it for us~ That was honestly so sweet and such a nice surprise. Thank you Hazel and the manager/owner for making our first Photogram experience so memorable!!!

The photos turned out so good--they honestly look like they were taken by a professional photographer! The best part is that we took them ourselves using a remote, so we could press the button whenever we were ready to pose. It made the whole experience feel so relaxed and fun! They also have different photo booths you can use inside, and you can even turn your favorite photos into adorable keychains. Such a cute keepsake! We had an amazing time and will definitely be coming back on our next visit (:

They knew the exact dimensions and they were patient with my 92-year-old father. They even personally delivered the photos directly to us while we ate lunch next door. I can't recommend them enough.

Truth be told....I write this with a bit of a tear in my eye....not to get too melodramatic over a…read moreyelp review....but pictures...when done perfect and if your in a particular sentimental mood....can have that effect. Some backstory...Imagix/Michelle has done our yearly photos for our son from ages 1 to now 5. (See my past reviews). From somehow capturing a perfect moment from our perpetually moving blur of a son (ages 1-3) to patiently instructing four 70/80 year olds on how to hold their aforementioned 4 year old Tasmanian Devil grandson last year, Michelle is a magician/artist...I always leave the photoshoot stressed from the chaos Hurricane Daniel (our son) leaves in his wake....But every year we come back to look at the proofs and are amazed at Michelle ability to capture "lighting in a bottle" . This year was no different. Fortunately we survived the terrible 2's (...3's....4's....) and thanks to time, maturity, and the opposite of gentle parenting, our little Daniel, though far from perfect, is manageable. But we didn't want to make it too easy for Michelle, so we threw in another variable. After a recent canine cancer scare, and recently learning from Google that all dogs, however loyal and cute, unfortunately have an inescapable life, span, I somehow convinced my beautiful but camera shy wife that this is the year we do a family photo with our dog. Some more backstory, if you read this far, our Yorkie, Libby, loves us but HATES the rest of the world. She spent the entire hour photoshoot in perpetual scowl and Volume 11 non stop bark. One week later as she always does, lighting in a bottle perfection. I looked at the proofs with amazement. Our son, we expected....she's done it every year, but how she made a loud perpetual yapping bark into a impossibly cute smile is above my skill set. But I think her greatest feat is how she lessened the "he must be rich" looks gap between my wife and I. My wife is easy, even me with my amateur Android skills, it's hard for her to take a bad picture. Michelle mastery came with how she elevated me to "he must be funny" looks gap level. So why the tear? We loved one of the pics so much we purchased a large framed canvas print to hang on our living room wall. My 85 year old happened to be in town for his grandsons 5th bday so I asked him for an helping hand hanging the picture. I figured he has these family portrait hanging at my childhood home. My brother and I with our full head of hair and my mom shoulder pads captured the 90's to a tee...but what I always remember is the "proud" look my dad had on his face. A look of accomplishment shouting "look at me world and all that I love and created". Watching my aging dad struggle, listing to my aging dog bark in a locked room to protect my dad's ankles, I was suddenly reminded that time, as much as you want to hit pause, always moves forward. It's a good idea to stop and smell the roses, or in this case, look at the snapshot/memories/moments and take it all in. After my dad handed me the leveler and I put away the hammer, and I looked up....and yeah....I had that "Dad" look

The photo studio is located inside AR Galleria (the main galleria entrance was locked on Sunday afternoon so I had to enter through the side door via Cafe Lowell). [Parking]: Easy and free parking in the large plaza. [Reservation]: I was able to call and book a same-day reservation on Sunday. Visitors can also make an online reservation via the studio's website. Upon arrival, I scanned a QR code and signed a waiver before the owner started my 5-minute photo session. [Price]: $27 for 4 physical copies and digital copies to download via email (must be downloaded within 7 days). I did not initially receive an email, but I emailed the owner the next day about the download link and he sent a follow-up email with the link within a few hours (the email was hidden in my spam folder). The email included all the pictures taken during the session. The shop also makes photo keychains ($4+ each). The studio also offers 15-minute and 30-minute self-portrait sessions. [Studio]: While I was here for a passport photo, the studio mainly operates as a self-portrait studio where customers take photos of themselves. This small studio has all the props and camera setup needed to make it happen. [Process]: The owner had me sit on a chair and took 7 pictures. Out of the 7 pictures taken, I was able to choose one for him to print while the rest of pictures can be downloaded via a link in an email. It was more important to receive a digital copy because the US passport renewal process requires applicants to upload a digital photo rather than submit a physical copy. I was able to use one of the digital copies and now that same picture will be on my passport for the next 10 years before the next renewal timeline. [Conclusion]: Overall it was an efficient process and I was able to walk in and out within 15 minutes. However, it would be helpful for the studio to provide additional entry instructions on the website when the main galleria entrance is locked.
