Went Wednesday night with a friend to "paint your pet". You…read moreemail them a photo of your pet, they sketch it on canvas, and you paint it! It's one of the best classes I've seen out there since the painting is so personalized. It's also a bit more expensive than other classes because of the extra work that goes into it ($50). I think this class is better suited for people who have painted a couple times, or more. Next time I'll try a class where we're all painting the same thing, so it's harder for me to mess up. When all the pets look so different, it's hard for them to help you mix paint colors and walk you through every step. Some of the paintings were AMAZING and you could definitely tell these people had inherent artistic skills. People were looking at mine and smiling politely... haha. My painting is no masterpiece, but it sorta-kinda looks like Izzy. My fiance laughed at it when he saw it, but it was the first painting I've ever done! The instructor was helpful, and she went around to everyone giving them pointers and tips. The class included a drink, and they had little appetizers (mini meatballs, cheese, crackers, grapes, peanut M&M's!!!!!, hummus). It's a really cute space, and a fun thing to do with friends. Definitely recommend! P.S. There is a garage with free parking right behind the studio.

It was a very relaxing experience, totally open-minded, and a lot of fun! Highly recommended to anyone in the greater Denver area for a visit to try the "open studio". I was surprised that the cost was so low when let you take your canvas with you, which is moderately sized. This would be an absolute blast to come with a group of ~10 people. They have a "paint your date/mate" night - where you can do a portrait of the person you come with. Sounds like a blast - I fully hope to get back there. Beer/wine is available for purchase too, at less than restaurant prices. My only complaint, is that it's hard to find. If you enter from the main street, there's minimal street presence. There's a small sign out front, so don't look for a large window near their address. You need to follow down a hallway before you arrive at the studio. I think it's possible to get there faster from the back side of the studio? Anyway - give yourself time when trying to find the studio. I was surprised to see that other reviews posted were less positive. Reaction to other reviews: --"better suited for someone with painting experience": I've never painted before, and was entirely not intimidated by the environment. I felt no qualms trying funky patterns! --"cancelled birthday party": this definitely sounds like a nightmare. My experience was very unstructured (dropping in to an open studio), so this was not a problem. The staff was very friendly and provided help whenever needed.

I liked that there were hooks for purses and coats all along the walls. My only issue is that the space is a little small and cramped. I got there 15 minutes early, and the instructor still had to rearrange all the canvases so that I could sit next to my friend in the very back corner. And there was not a lot of space between us and the station where everyone was refilling their paints. I would absolutely go back again.

Painting a pet can feel a bit daunting, but she provided so much guidance, patience, and encouragement throughout the entire event. She walked me through every step, offered amazing tips to capture my pet's unique look, and helped out immensely whenever I felt stuck. Her work is really beautiful, and she's excited about painting which made it fun. That is why I gave her 3 stars. The negatives were that the venue is truly a wine bar- not a painting studio, call me "old"- but the tables are so low it's not a good position to be sitting in for several hours. As well, Yulia's phone rang throughout the whole session (completely unprofessional), and at times she took the calls and stepped away from the teaching. Additionally, she was up and down the stairs and in and out of the back room throughout the whole session. Seemed as though she had better things to do than teach our class. I understand it's a startup, and I'm very much in support- but from the outside perspective it seems she's trying to do too much at once instead of focusing her effort on making her customers' experience a good one. I don't plan on going back, but do wish Yulia the best, and believe if she focuses on her current customers her future customers will come!

One person made an orb that the instructor, Agnes, demonstrated the glass blowing technique. The whole process from start to finish was amazing, a little nerve-wracking at times (working in a hot environment with spontaneous glass) but overall a fun thrilling experience! Agnes is extremely knowledgeable. She shared with us her studies in Italy and how she has dominated in a predominately male field. She runs her own business and sets her own hours, so at times she may not be quick to respond but was a great communicator in class and afterward when we scheduled pick-up of our finished pieces.

If you're looking for a cookie cutter Paint'n'Sip experience with laminated instructions, a…read morecorporate manual, and the only risk is some paint on your chinos, this isn't it. Agnes's glass studio is the opposite of franchised fluff. It's a living, breathing space of craft, care, and quiet mastery. Blowing glass is hard work with way more risk since you are working with molten glass. Agnes isn't following a manual. She has decades of experience. She knows what needs to be done, what you need to, what is safe, and what is above your skill level (that means some tasks are going to be done by Agnes). She has a deep respect for the medium and during your session, you will attempt to do the same. Yes, there are some old Groupon era reviews floating around, but let's be honest: those deals were coercive traps set by intermediaries who didn't care about the sustainability of small studios. Studios were pressured to offer steep discounts that brought in volume. That's not a reflection of her work, it's a reflection of a broken model. What you'll find now is something far more rare: a studio that trusts you to learn, to make mistakes, and to create something real. Agnes doesn't coddle, but she does empower. She's generous with her knowledge, firm when needed, and quietly celebratory when you get it right. What you will likely learn: gathering, marvering, color application, jacking, inflation, shaping, rolling, paddles, expanding, transfer to punty, and annealing. If you don't know any of these terms, you would do yourself a favor by catching a 10-15 minute video on YouTube before heading to class. If you already know all of this, Agnes may be able to create a higher level course around incalmo, battuto, or flameworking.
