The fries, amazing and worth the calories! We ended up each getting the new Caribbean Chicken sandwich. Flavor wise, delicious! Bread, perfect for the sandwich. The amount of filling in the sandwich seemed a bit sparse for the sandwich size and price. That being said the quality of ingredients- very good! Also, the two staff working were slammed- yet remained positive, attentive and genuinely seemed to enjoy their work. We will be back.

And maybe I just picked the wrong sandwich, cuz the flavors truly didn't do it for me. But also the white bread they put the fixings into really detracted from the overall flavor. Blehhh. Still though, high rating from me because the establishment was really swanky on the inside, lots of clean spacious seating. A patio as well to eat outside. Soda fountain had some flavor shot options. The employees were all friendly and attentive. Clean restrooms (though they were individual stalls and gender segregated for no reason...). Also the pricing was a little steep but not horrid by today's exorbitant standards. Paid $11 for a 6"er.

The potatoes were COLD, DRY, and had a weird seasoning, which they shouldn't have been cold or dry because I requested them as a side. The gluten free bread WAS good, and I will say it would have been a decent deli sandwich, maybe like an Italian sub or BLT, but that bread as a breakfast sandwich...holy bread! I should have bought a baguette at Walmart and saved my $10+ on a piece of bread with a limp piece of bacon, enough egg to feed a family of 10, and a piece of cheddar cheese that wasn't even melted. This place was SO disappointing and I left starving - didn't event finish my food and should have asked for a refund. Sandwich and potatoes were absolutely disgusting - dry, cold, flavorless. I know this isn't the east coast where deli sandwiches are superiors, but cmon. there's better quality found at McDonald's. I'm not a particular person and I cannot just emphasize enough how gross and disappointing this was. Service was fine, they were nice and as expected. Ambiance was like that of a subway, not a mom and pop type of restaurant.

The outside has a big Kroll's sign, a big clock on top of that and with various large food signs in place. I would love to see this at night as its neon based. This is just what you imagine a diner in the 50's might look like. Tons of retro decor. The booths are red and white striped, vinyl based. The counter has stools/chairs that are the same decor. Each booth has a cool white hanging light in place. The floor is black and white checkerboard. The retro decor has various signs, some metal, other framed pictures, just a cool touch. At the counter there are signs up above the workstation that mention what type of shakes are in place along with other dessert options. Music from the 50's and the 60's plays, it's a good vibe. The place had quite a few customers and it appears to be a popular place. Onto the food. There is a good size menu in place, and you can have breakfast at any time. There are German based selections also. Two of us ordered the chicken club melt with fries, one of us ordered a burger with fries, a kid's chicken nuggets meal and a hot beef. For the hot beef that my husband ordered, there was a choice of a side. He decided on Kroll's famous Knoephla soup. The description on the menu says, "lumpy and yellow just how grandma likes it". Out comes the soup. Here's the thing, you either like this soup or you don't. My thinking: it's great to try new and exciting things. There was nothing bad about this soup, we just didn't care for it. To me this tasted a bit like mushroom soup. There were a few dumplings, very dense and square. But we tried it and then we moved on. The sandwiches were good, the burger was just ok, nothing special going on there, the kids' meal was ok, my husband says the hot beef was very good. One of our people ordered a chocolate shake. It was seriously lacking in chocolate. Here's what I liked about this place, the atmosphere. The waitress was exceptional, friendly, prompt and courteous. The food was good, nothing exceptional but a decent meal. With all of us, the cost was 90+. Maybe a tad bit pricey. Would I come back here? Sure, it was a pleasant experience. I very much appreciate the diner vibe, it's just cool.

Originally ate at - 08/23/26…read more I want to start off by saying Kroll's Diner is probably one of if not the best early breakfast spots for what you pay for. I did not have the lunch or supper or any of the deals related to either so I cannot comment on them. I am sure they are amazing as Kroll's gives off the impression they are more known for them, especially the supper. I came here one early morning a few weeks ago because I had a particularly long, rough night prior where I did not get a wink of sleep. Kroll's was the only place open at 6am that I knew could serve a reliable pancake platter. Having a good prior experience before when i was going to university and came here at 3 am, i figured Kroll's would be the way to go. I want to also mention quick that this diner has some of the best service in all of Fargo. You can see how unbelievably busy the Diner is yet everyone still has a smile on their face (and if they don't, they are locked in and focused) and will happily serve you anyway. I ended up getting the Grandma Kroll's Pancakes that came with 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, and your choice of meat. I got the smoked ham. While the meat was questionable but that was not what I was there for. It was at least edible. the eggs were cooked beautifully as per request and the 2 flapjacks that were my reason for sitting in that red seat were nothing short of divine. They were big, fluffy, savory, and warm. Even though the syrup is not genuine maple syrup (at least as i could tell), it pairs so well with diner style pancakes that it shines in its own way and paired excellently with these. Their pancakes are delicious. The food, overall, is solid. Unfortunately, as i was eating, I was greatly disappointed to see that some of the table menus, and table special ads, used ai for it's imaging of the food and designs. Ignoring the already glaring issues with using ai for the sake of focusing on the food for a second, I find this disappointing because this tells me that Kroll's is not confident in it's own food and brand image that it's built to use their own images and are perfectly fine compromising their own family old-school diner aesthetic for it. This also brings into question the recipe of every item on the menu. if they are willing to compromise the image they have developed over the years, then there is always the possibility that ai might've been used in making new food items or to change and alter already existing recipes. Overall, Kroll's is a great experience and will definitely satisfy the diner style food you're craving. Until the ai is no longer being used, i cannot, in good faith and judgement, give this establishment any higher than one star, as that is how harmful ai is. Ignoring the glaring ai issues, i would give Kroll's Diner a 3.5 / 5

They have a very big menu and standing there looking at it when you go in, is a bit much. They have quite a few options, value baskets, chicken, seafood, sides, drinks, lemon ice, sandwiches, salads and much more. One of the items that caught my eye were the butter burgers. Looking at the ingredients, this is a fresh, never frozen beef, served on a lightly buttered toasted bun. This I might have to try another time. After finally choosing something, I ordered the cranberry Bacon Bleu Salad. My daughter ordered the value basket, grilled chicken sandwich. This is a bargain costing 11.89, it comes with fries and a drink. We ordered the kid's meal which is also a deal at 6.99. Kids get their choice of meal with fries, drink and ice cream. We also ordered a side of onion rings. All of the items in our meals were good. I was particularly very happy with the cranberry bacon bleu salad. Lots of chicken, cranberries, blue cheese and bacon. It's a really good size and I had leftovers for sure to take home. I'd like to mention that this business practices inclusion. Many of the employees exhibit some type of disability. Giving people the chance to be productive in life, is simply commendable. My daughter experienced a big delay in picking up and order done online. Looking at the reviews there seems to be a problem with this. Hopefully Culver's can get this together and make sure that delays like this stop happening. Would I go back here? Yes, I would. I gave this a 3 simply because I'd like to revisit this place, try more items and see how that goes. I definitely will.
