When I told the receptionist what happened and I needed them to come see how much it would cost me, she informed me that they don't do estimates. "How then," I asked, "do I know if I can afford it?" "I don't know, sir," was her reply. While my mouth was hanging open, she thanked me for calling, wished me a good day and hung up. I was shocked. Especially after recommending them to all our customers for so long. I wondered how many other people got this treatment. The contract included the following clause: "In case counsel is employed, I (Owner) agree to pay reasonable attorney's fees and court costs" That meant I had to pay all legal fees - both sides even if they were at fault and lawyers were needed. I spoke with Mrs. Durazzo who refused any changes like adding "... if Owner is at fault" to the sentence. She said I could find another roofer and I will. This sentence is legal in AZ and would supersede the Court awarding me fees and costs if Durazzo is at fault. It's also very unfair and for me said something about the Owners.

Note: estimates were very vague. The "office" needs a reality check. I thoroughly believe in supporting local businesses however, when one shows estimates that are.... Extremely expensive and questionable.... That's an issue. Example. Estimate to replace two ceiling fans. Replacement ONLY! I was given $750! Yes people that was the quote. I called two handymen "$50 per or $100 per; box stores between $150-200 per!" Do your due diligence and call around! Word of mouth is best. I sent back feedback to provide them insight to their outrageous pricing. Also of note. Who puts a "lien" statement in an estimate vs a warranty statement? Just found that curious as all get up.
