Note: estimates were very vague. The "office" needs a reality check. I thoroughly believe in supporting local businesses however, when one shows estimates that are.... Extremely expensive and questionable.... That's an issue. Example. Estimate to replace two ceiling fans. Replacement ONLY! I was given $750! Yes people that was the quote. I called two handymen "$50 per or $100 per; box stores between $150-200 per!" Do your due diligence and call around! Word of mouth is best. I sent back feedback to provide them insight to their outrageous pricing. Also of note. Who puts a "lien" statement in an estimate vs a warranty statement? Just found that curious as all get up.

The good is that our countertops are beautiful. The bad has to do with the backsplash. We were…read moreshown one sample and "maybe" told there might be a variation. When we opened our backsplash tile boxes 19 of the 72 pretty good sized tiles looked to have an irregular lacy pattern. I went to the store with our "good" tile and one of the " variation " tiles and was simply told that that's the way it is, nothing will or can be done. Well if that's the norm then maybe we should have been shown the original tile with its possible variation. Now we have to modify our backsplash plans and have the "variation " tiles removed by our contractor, modify our backsplash plans and throw away a $125 box of "variation " tiles. Not happy! Lots of options out there, try them.

The crew was SO particular, SO careful to get it right -- especially the tricky maneuver to retain (and not damage) the existing backsplash. The 3 man crew worked steadily and cleaned up the work site beautifully -- and laughed when I suggested they keep on vacuuming throughout the house. Have to say they were a fun bunch -- patient with my frequent peeks in to see progress, knowledgeable in answering questions, and good natured enough to laugh at my jokes. Time line from my first inquiry to completion was 13 business days. Their quote and description of the process was clear. They have an enormous selection of samples and a gigantic outdoor "showroom" of different slabs. Most impressive, Sierra Vista Tile COMMUNICATED with me -- I'd spent the 5 previous weeks wrangling with 2 other companies who either didn't have the "right person" on hand, did not answer phones, or ignored voice messages. The big box stores and remodeling sites are right out there and easy to find, but Sierra Vista Tile is a real hidden gem tucked down on 5th street.
