Went here four times. First time was great, nice, pretty blonde gal made an amazing latte. Next day we excitedly went back but they didn't have plant-based milk that day for some reason--which seemed odd because there is a market across the street. The two gals working that day seemed more interested in talking than being helpful. Despite this, we tried again two more days in a row and they were closed for some reason. Yelp hours said they should be open so I'm not really sure what that's about. Couldn't find a phone number for this place to confirm days and hours. Super cute coffee spot in Tahoma. They're in a mini shopping center so there's a handful of parking spots. They've got a few chairs and picnic tables outside for seating. We frequented the to-go window but you can also order inside. The service was quick and friendly. We ordered the beetroot lattes (hot) because I e never heard of it and thought it had to be a unique sip. It doesn't come sweetened so we added honey. We also ordered a vanilla latte (iced). All of our drinks tasted good and quality was consistent for the week we came. The only opportunity is that for iced drinks they serve paper straws and they degrade quickly; a sip lid might be a consideration. read more

We stumbled upon this tiny coffee shop our first morning in Tahoe, and found it relatively busy on a Saturday morning. However, the line to order at the window moved quickly. I got an Iced Honey Latte and my boyfriend got a Hot CBD Honey Latte, and both were ready in about 10 minutes. I really liked my drink, even though most of the honey syrup was concentrated at the bottom of the cup. The CBD Latte was good too, and my boyfriend said he could really feel the effects. I have a soft spot for tiny cafes such as this, and it is nice to have a place such as this along the west shore to stop at after some hiking for a gelato and coffee. Especially now with COVID restrictions, there is no inside service or seating at all, but that is not a problem given that there are ordering windows, as well as chairs and benches outside to enjoy the lovely mountain weather. The drinks cover most cafe bases, with typical coffee and espreso drinks, some teas and lemonades. The gelato is where it's at, though, coming in about a half dozen flavors ranging from strawberry-lemondade, to mocha, to pistachio, to caramel, and even sweet cream, which is what I wound up with. It was quite nice, and the perfect thing on a hot afternoon. Prices for everything are pretty good, with most drinks being in the $2-$5 range, and the gelato being $4-$6. Parking is fairly easy, but I imagine the lot, shared by other businesses, can get a bit crowded during peak season, and you should watch for very heavy cross traffic in and out of there. The one big detraction I found was that the staff members seemed rather abrupt and silent towards me and a couple other customers, not really answering questions, and seeming to only get you in and out as fast as possible to get back to other things they were doing. That is a real shame, as I found everything else about the spot rather charming. All things considered, though, I think if you are in the area and need a drink or a treat, you are well off keeping this spot in mind. read more

We always make sure to stop by Where We Met when we're on the West Shore! It's a Tahoma staple, and the owner Liz is awesome :) The fresh, homemade gelato is to die for, and there's always a new flavor or two that we haven't tried yet. Great coffee too, which is nice because it's pretty much the only place until you get to Tahoe City. Convenient location, right on the main road/bike path, and the outdoor sitting area is super cute. The owner was working last time and the coffee and service was spot on. Espresso, Nutella latte, and muffins were all great. A generous 2 stars for the first visit. This business lacks consistency and good customer service! Visited twice during our 3 night stay in Tahoma. First visit wasn't terrible. Young blonde that took our order was fairly helpful and both mine and my bf's drinks were pretty decent. Came back the next morning hoping for a good pick me up. Waited in a bit of a line and was helped by a brunette - who I believe was the owner? - who couldn't crack a smile to save her life and wasn't personable or welcoming at all. Ordered a slightly different drink for my bf the 2nd time around and the same exact iced coffee I had the day prior and both tasted terrible! I ended up pouring mine down the drain after trying to salvage it when we got back to our cabin. My bf insisted on going back to complain but it wasn't worth dealing with the brunette again in my opinion. Stopped in here 3 times on our recent visit to Tahoe. We were staying just down the road and this was a convenient location to stop by on our morning walk. The staff was nice on all 3 visits and the service was quick. I tried 3 different drinks: an iced honey latte, an iced lavender latte, and a hot Nutella latte. I really wanted to like this place because it had a good vibe and nice people but I was not very thrilled with their drinks. In all 3 of my lattes the flavor was just sitting on the bottom with the milk & espresso on top of it. I tried to stir it in but it just wouldn't combine, so each sip was either an unflavored mouthful of espresso & milk or a straight shot of undiluted flavor. Not great. I'm not sure if they don't pour the shots over the syrup so they don't melt the syrups and combine them with the milk & espresso or what but I definitely could have made a better latte at home. I tried the hot Nutella latte as a last resort to see if at least the hot lattes were good but had the same issue. The Nutella was just a big blob at the bottom of the cup, even after I tried to stir and combine it. My take away/tldr is if you stop by here, get something unflavored and you will probably enjoy it much better. read more

Gelato!! Far superior to any other frozen sweet treat. Their sweet cream gelato was amazing. They do have espresso (and oat milk now, the tastiest of milk substitutes). Cute little coffee shop near our home. We've been grabbing coffee and gelato here for years. I was thrilled to drive by and see them open today and stopped for a cup of coffee. Although I was dismayed to see the two women working inside not wearing masks, I proceeded to order coffee because they were offering window service. However, as the woman was preparing my coffee, she proceeded to sneeze, hard. So now I potentially have a COVID COFFEE. I love that they make their own gelato and have VEGAN options. We have the vegan strawberries & cream, it was hands down the best ice cream/gelato we have ever had. I really wanted to like this place since it is walking distance from the cabin that I rented for the summer. Unfortunately, when I ordered my first latte from them I was told that they don't do decaf because they don't believe in it. What does that even mean? It feels very exclusive and discriminatory to not serve decaf because you as the owner don't "believe in it". I am extremely sensitive to caffeine and my heart races when I have it. I really enjoy the flavor and ritual of a morning latte. And sometimes an afternoon latte. I guess I will get them from Tahoma Market instead. Went there three days ago and the espresso machine was broken, no big deal, we got regular coffee instead. So we wanted to try again today for a latte, and one of us walked in just to check first if the machine was still broken, simple question. The answer was a very rude "Does it look broken?!" Still stayed to order a latte cause we would have loved to taste the coffee if we were acknowledged. Stood there for 10 minutes and still waiting. Skip this west shore place. The quality of the coffee drinks is hit or miss at best and overall, service has gone downhill. Way downhill. It all depends on the barista you get. This summer, the barista with red hair and a pixie cut is super-nice and makes a good cappuccino. She's the reason why Where We Met gets even 1 star -- otherwise it would have been a big fat 0. The barista making coffee this morning -- she has long blond hair -- was unprofessional and rude -- she kept complaining about a problem in her personal life in front of customers -- and couldn't figure out how to use the espresso machine at first. She had to get help from the owner! She also had a pretty lazy, cold and admonitory attitude-- not someone you want to encounter first thing in the morning. I asked her what gelato flavors they had that day and pointed to one of them. She replied, "Try not to touch the glass, it leaves fingerprints." Seriously? I almost said, "Then wipe them off -- that's your job." But I took the high road -- I always try to be civil, and said, "Oops, sorry." I regret that now. To top it all off, the drink she made was not worth the $$ I paid. Too much milk -- why doesn't this barista know the difference between a cappuccino and a latte? I own property in Tahoma and I've been coming to Tahoe since I was a kid, so I support local businesses. I always recommended this place to out-of-town guests and renters. But no longer. If you can't respect your customers, then we choose not to respect you and will either make coffee at home or go to another coffee place that does.
