I don't usually review this kind of stuff, but I must give a shout-out to Pat at Wheels Performance Autoworks. We experienced the dreaded I-95 breakdown, in Georgia no less...probably the worst place you ever want to be stuck alongside the highway. The AAA-recommended repair center turned out to have HORRIBLE reviews as a total rip-off joint that tries to sell you a new transmission if your headlight is out. The hotel personal at the Richmond Hill Best Western, the dying ground of our car, confirmed the negative reviews, and a manager recommended Wheels Performance Autoworks. I called Pat, gave him the specs to the car, and he had a new alternator for us even before we arrived. The waiting area was comfy and cozy. The people were super friendly. The cost of the repairs was totally reasonable, the hourly rate even less than our own local mechanic. Pat, if you're reading this...thank you. read more

Got an estimate over $3600 (includes $203 diagnostic) to fix a ton of issues on my 2008 Tundra losing engine power. Took it to Mitchell's Automotive off Route 17 to Savannah for a second opinion. They stated it was just a rodent that chewed through a wiring harness and it cost me $289 including the diagnostic!! I really try not to leave bad reviews, but these gentlemen need to understand our economy AFTER COVID. read more

I was traveling with my daughter headed to Florida from NJ and we heard a weird noise an dab thought w en should check on it . We called Wheel Autoworks and asked if they could wait for us to get there as it was close to closing time . I spoke to the owner and he said of course he would. Upon arrival he had an employee test drive the car and when he returned he assured us that we should be fine nothing major was going on. Let's begin with I NEED MY CAR RUNNING! I'm a realtor so when my car breaks, I don't work. A good mechanic is as important to me as a good hairdresser! lol I found Wheels Autoworks through word of mouth -- the best kind of referral. I've taken my car there for two major issues. Both were resolved within a couple of days. Although both issues were several hundred dollars apiece, I felt that the price was reasonable for the work needed. Pat (the owner) is a patient, knowledgeable man. Not only does he explain the problem and solution to me, but he re-explains it so that I can fully understand it. The staff is professional and their workspace is free of obstructions. The restroom is clean and they having a cozy waiting room. They're conveniently off of i95 for travelers that run into issues on their trip. Or if you're like me and get tired of your wheels being imbalanced, you stop in to have them balance them so that you can start back on the road. They got me in and out and didn't shoo me away when they had other appointments. Pat, one of the Owners of Wheel Autoworks in Richmond Hill GA, is a great, old school guy who is fair, direct, and from everything I could tell as honest as the day is long. My car had some fuel line issues on I95 about 30 miles from his shop in the middle of nowhere. I was towed into his shop by a competitor towing company (after AAA left me stranded for three (3) hours with no Roadside Assistance service). I selected Wheels Autoworks shop while roadside via cell phone. He could have gouged me and made up a host of stuff up regarding my fuel issue...I was prepared to travel back to Charlotte and pick up my vehicle three days later if parts needed to be ordered. Pat found the simple issue and resolved it quickly. He charged me a minimal and fair fee and got me back on the road quickly. In the interim he had me wait in his comfortable waiting room and gnosh on free snacks and beverages. In my book, the test of an honest mechanic is one who doesn't take advantage of folks who are over a barrel...as I was. Pat and his staff treated me fairly and courteously. I also forgot a cell phone charger there (in a hurry to get back on the road) and he worked with me to send him a prepaid FedEx shipping label and he sent my charger back to me. Can't say enough good things about Wheel Autoworks and Pat. I hope the good deeds come back full circle to Pat and his staff. Patronize his shop...good people deserve good things to happen to them. Have been to this shop several time. The first time was to get new tires for my truck, I was pleased with the services. Then my breaks on my car started grinding on my car, I went to them again and the grinding was fixed, then about 2 weeks later I had some other issues, $2,000 later, my breaks started grinding again. When I called to find out what was going on, the owner was extremely rude to me! Basically told me I was out of luck and a liar. I took my car to another shop, and when he went to inspect my breaks, the entire break caliber fell off! They didn't even secure my breaks when they finished. So now I am having to buy all new breaks and routers. If you want to spend way more money than you should, and have your car worse than it was before you went into the shop, I suggest you go to Savannah tire, at least there you'll get a cup of coffee while they are screwing you! read more
