This place has changed for the better in the last two years. These days, service is efficient, intelligent, and adequately friendly. A few times a year, they have a sale on quality tires, saving you quite a bundle. I compared it to America's Tires and another tire place in Rohnert Park and WheelWorks was within $10 of other places that offered less quality tires. Had some new Firestones put on and it took 2 1/2 hours, including alignment. For a small place, that's not bad! Knowing in advance it would be about 2+ hours, I brought my backpack and sat by the river with a cappuccino and a bagel. It was a beautiful day and great to get a morning walk in! Their payment plans offer six months at 0% interest, and includes free tire rotations, free tire repair for unexpected events, and a few other benefits. Plenty of parking with an auto parts place right next-door. Ambience could definitely be improved to create a cozier feel for customers-- that may very will be their next step. read more

On Sunday, August 3, 2025, I visited Wheel Works after picking up a flat from a spike strip quill (see my review of Bill's Towing for context, and another five-star review). Josh, who works both the front desk and in the shop, greeted me and quickly provided a quote for a replacement tire. I dropped off the damaged tire and let him know I'd be back after getting my wife and kids checked into the hotel. While I was heading back to the shop, Josh called to let me know they weren't able to locate the exact tire he quoted; it's an uncommon size, but he could order one for next-day delivery. I was only a few minutes away, so I told him I'd be there shortly to talk it through. When I arrived, Josh met me in the parking lot. Although I could have left the tire overnight, our schedule for the next day wouldn't allow time to wait for the delivery and installation. I asked whether the puncture could be plugged so I could use the tire as a spare in the meantime. Josh consulted with Eddy and another employee; likely the manager, who explained that driving on the flat had caused sidewall and belt damage, making the tire unsafe to repair or reuse. In the end, they weren't able to fix the tire, but not for lack of effort. They took the time to assess it thoroughly, walk me through the options, and explain the risks. I appreciated their honesty, professionalism, and customer service throughout the visit. If I lived locally, Wheel Works would absolutely be my go-to tire shop. Great service and very happy with my new tires! The guys are all great and very helpful and polite. Thank you. My one complaint is the waiting room/lounge. The ceiling tiles are all stained and one big tile totally missing and on the floor stained paper towels laying there filled with water and brown debris. The 2-3 chairs are so old and dilapidated. I am a female senior so while waiting for 40 min was excruciating for my back. Please make my experience enjoyable and clean it up! I really want to come back for more tires and service on my car but cannot wait in the lounge again. This is an important matter for all as cleanliness is high in my standards. Come on now. To Lee S. Review for Wheel Works - Technician: Eddy I just wanted to take a moment to give a huge shoutout to Eddy at Wheel Works for the outstanding job he did on my younger brother's 2001 Honda Prelude. From the moment we brought the car in, Eddy's professionalism and attention to detail stood out. What really impressed us was how Eddy went above and beyond when he noticed that the car had different tires in the rear. Most techs would've thrown their hands up or recommended we replace them right then and there, but Eddy took the time to assess the situation carefully. He explained everything clearly, made the necessary adjustments, and still managed to get the alignment just right. The car now drives smoother than it has in a long time! It's not every day you come across a technician who cares enough to find solutions rather than just point out problems. Eddy showed real expertise, patience, and pride in his work. Went back for an inspection and this time I was treated with disrespect, they told me that there just happened to be a convient puncture in the sidewall of one of my tires and that I'd have to buy a new tire from them. Even though I denied their suggestion for a new tire, they still insisted I buy one from them even though I new I could get a new tire from my original tire store that would give me one at a discount. In addition because the tire had a puncture they would not pass my car on the Uber inspection, forcing me to make an appointment with my tire store and come back for a second inspection and forcing me to use the original Wheelworks mechanic to do the inspection which caused a delay 4 days, since he was conviently not there, and I could not go back to work because Uber required my passed inspection form in order for me to drive, which cost me hundreds of dollars in lost income. So, I'm never going back and never suggesting to anyone to go to Wheelworks. read more

I would give Wheel Works zero stars if that option was available. I made an appointment to take my car in that had a slow leak in the tire. Jeremiah helped at 11:15 when I brought the car in. I told him I needed to leave by noon for another appointment and asked if the car would be ready by then. Jeremiah said that they would do their best with what looked like an eye roll. I sat for 45 minutes and listened to the phone ring repeatedly while Jeremiah did nothing. When I went to follow up he presented me with pricing for 4 new tires. The car has 25k miles on it. There is no way that it needed new tires. I started to feel like I was getting taken advantage of and there was still no indication what was wrong with my tire that had the slow leak. Finally Jeremiah smugly and condescendingly told me that my tire wasn't fixable and I needed 4 new tires. At which point I began to feel like I was being held hostage. When I went out to look at my tires that he was claiming were "bald" I was also met by his colleague, Rebecca, who was down right rude to me and told me I could take my car and leave when I was trying to understand how on earth I needed new tires. When I tried to address my frustration and poor experience both became extremely aggressive and defensive to the point where I felt threatened. This was a terrible experience spearheaded by two rude and aggressive employees. It's incredibly disappointing because I have used wheel works previously with no issues. Never again!!! read more

I made an appointment for 2 new tires. After 7 + hours the job was complete, however every warning light the car has on the dash was illuminated. I pointed this problem out before leaving, and an employee came over and did a quick "computer reset". He then said you will have to drive it for 15 miles before each sensor will reset and the lights will go out. After about 85 miles I returned because the lights were all still on. The employee who did the initial "reset" told me that He never told me the lights would reset. So this employee is either a liar or stupid, because why would I leave with all warning lights illuminated. Long story short, after 4 weeks their claims dept paid for a diagnostic test, where it was discovered that the "mechanic" who did my alignment, severed a whir harness , which caused the system failure. That story is to say, wheel works takes forever, even though appointments are made, employees are rude and either lie or are dumb, "mechanics" occasionally break cars and deny any wrong doing, and just to get back to zero with your broken car takes a month. There are lots of other good tire shops in Petaluma, don't waste your time here. read more

Dropped off my car for a patch to a run flat tire done here in January. When I returned a hour later, I was told that they put in the wrong size patch and it would take another hour. No problem until a month later, there was a low tire pressure alert. I refilled the tire and then it occurred again after another month. When examined at the shop, I was told that the leak was not occurring at the repair, but was caused by a bent rim. Later during an oil change while the car was up on blocks, I asked the mechanic to check for a leak. I have video evidence that the leak was coming from the patch. With a run flat, the warranty is voided with more than one patch. So now I need to have the tire replaced. Incompetent and dishonest. read more

Wheel Works - Surprise! Time to go to Wheel Works! - Tires Near Me - Petaluma, California

I still stand behind my previous review but  since I had new tires put on both my car and truck here this last week, I figured why not update. I really like the fact that they are open 7am-6pm. This was beneficial to me because other shops don't have hours that flexible.. I didn't need to leave early or come in late to work in order to accommodate my car appointments. I was able to drop off my vehicle at 7am, catch the train to work and come back in at 530pm to pick up.  Secondly, but just as important - price. Before I chose them this time around I researched tire & install prices locally (with taxes and possible alignment costs) for both of my vehicles. They had the best prices. My car tires I purchased through them and my truck tires I purchased through SimpleTire (because I needed only 2 Nitto tires) and had installed by Wheel Works. If I had to complain about anything it's the tires on my truck weren't installed to match the look to my original pair. I had Nitto Terra Grappler G2 tires installed which the tread is symmetrical but has either a lightning bolt pattern or a blade pattern depending which direction they are installed on the wheel.  I have 2 tires with blades and 2 tires with lightning bolts which essentially doesn't matter in terms of function but it stands out to me every time I look at the truck now. read more

I had a horrible experience here about a week ago that I posted involving an oil change and extremely rude customer service at Wheel Works in Petaluma. Well I got a call from the Bridgetone Corp. I talked with Dan O'Keith, he listened and was very sympathetic and apologized for the experience I had but, at the end he said; well, it looks like you got the oil for the price you were quoted and I will address the customer service in this store. Not any mention of, how can we make this right because he knew he lost me for good as a customer but, he overlooked the possibility of me writing another negative yelp review. Zero, brought my car in had a knocking noise on the front driver side payed the $10 for the inspection. Come to find out nobody drove my car so they assumed it was my sway bar. I made it very clear that I am selling my car that I need that knocking noise taken care of. Got the sway bar replaced almost$300 the knocking noise is still there they told me that I did not request to have somebody drive the car to check out the noise. Are you kidding me. Brought it back for the third time they told me today but they had a more qualified technician and said that I needed tie rods replaced that's going to cost another $580 dollars. they deny customers the ability to change 4 tires at 4:30pm when they close at 6pm bc they have two tickets on the board. keep in mind that's only 1 ticket per guy and they had 2 techs. your telling me a couple tire changes per customer is going to take 1 1/2 hrs... that's bs i worked in the tire industry and we stayed till every customer was taken care of. we didnt deny work bc we had two tickets on the board and 2 techs and close in 1 1/2 hrs. will never take my car here. lazy service manager just wanted to go home do not go here unless you have all day to sit around and wait or come at noon where they will actually accept work.... now i see why there rating is less than 3 stars... read more

I bought headlight bulbs at AutoZone and was told that Wheel Works in Petaluma would change them for me for free or at least pretty cheap. I went over there and they immediately rolled their eyes and said they wish AutoZone would quit sending people to them for "stuff like that!" It was early in the day but he said he couldn't do it that day, but probably the next day. He also quoted me $275 for ONE headlight bulb change! He said it was a deal because the computer stated it would be two and a half hours of labor. I walked away before I did something I regretted. I contacted a Petaluma police officer and asked for advice because I didn't want to drive illegally or unsafely. He looked up a YouTube video that showed the procedure taking 10 minutes and offered to help me. I went to the department and he attempted to get it out but it was a tight squeeze and more difficult than the video had shown. He gave me a voucher to take it to a shop. I went to Local Heros in Petaluma and although they had to put the car in the air and remove the front wheels to access the panel where the bulbs were, they changed both bulbs for me and even corrected a couple small safety issues that they saw in my immediate driver's seat area and they did it in less than 15 minutes! I don't know what the problem is with Wheel Works but that is the second time I attempted to go to them for something small and quick and I was greeted with an unfriendly attitude, told I couldn't be helped the same day and extremely overquoted for something that was either quick, easy, cheap, or free somewhere else! I will never go to them again, NOT EVEN if it's an emergency! 2 1/2 hours?! I have to wonder if they even know what they are doing or were they just attempting to rip me off?! read more

I've been to Wheel Works twice, both times to fix a my punctured tires (DARN NAILS ON THE ROADS, WHAT THE HECK!). They are always very nice and friendly. There's often only one person working at the desk so you might have to wait a little if there're people ahead of you but it's very long. It only took them a little over a half hour to fix it but I went back to work while I was waiting. Ignacio helped me at some point on both of my visits. He's one of the nicest people. Their technician wasn't able to get my TPMS light to go off so he spent some time going through the manuals and trying to help me with it. We figured out since my car is newer (a 2013 Subaru) it's most likely automatic. I ended up leaving thinking the same, and the light went off after I drove a mile or so. With the service I've received at most other places, I was expecting them to just say "sorry, we couldn't get it to turn off. Bye" but he actually took the time to help me and try to figure it out. You don't get great service like that in many places now days. I'll definitely return here and recommend! read more

Wheel works was a fantastic experience. Especially Zach who quickly fixed my problem. I picked up a screw in my tire and stopped by desperate to get it repaired as I was on my way out of town to work. I figured that it would take hours and I would be late to work but these folks got me right in, pulled the screw, patched the leak, got me out of there in under 30 minutes, charged me a VERY reasonable price, and were incredibly friendly. Do not give these crooks your business. I brought a tire in Saturday that had picked up a screw. At first glance they said it's easily patched and so I left the tire and paid for a patch. 5 hours later, they called me to say the tire was un-patchable and I would need a new tire. When I questioned the man who was calling me, explaining that I was curious since it should have been an easy patch (screw directly in the middle of the tire, not near the sidewall etc, he sort of stumbled, as if he wasn't expecting to have to justify it, and said 'the screw is too deep'. What do yo mean DEEP, of course it's deep, it went through the tire causing air to escape. how much deeper could it have gone. Again he paused and just sort of fumbled 'you need a new tire'. I told him forget it, and I picked up the tire. Today I took it to Jay and Bill's Tire, people I trust. They took the tired, called me an hour later to say that it was completely patchable and was done. He said this was a very common occurrence with Wheel Works, them scamming customers into new tires on jobs that are entirely patchable. I'll be writing a formal complaint to Wheel Works corporate, not that it will do any good I suppose. And as I had paid for the patch when I had dropped off the tire at Wheel Works, I asked them for a refund when they failed to patch it. The woman working there after many minutes couldn't figure out how to issue a refund, so they still owe me $20, and I finally just gave up, as there were 5 customers behind me and I didn't want to continue to hold them up. I had been a customer of Wheel Works for years when Ignacio ran the shop, and he was honest and trustworthy. Whoever is running it today should be put in jail. I was smart enough to go elsewhere, but how many tires are they selling people who do not need tires... literally criminal. Seriously people, just go to Jay and Bill's, or even Brodies, any of the other independent tire shops in Petaluma, and please don't give these jerks your money. read more

This location is a bit shady, they added an alignment to our ticket that we didn't ask for. We (my boyfriend and I) went in to get a flat tire repaired, we ended up getting it replaced which was fine. Derek kept talking up their lifetime alignment plan, and was trying to make a deal with us anyway possible. They had already done the service! After declining the last time, he mentioned that "his guy" had to go home and may have not done it thoroughly. Then we firmly told him we were just going to pay for the tire he said that the alignment was done right but there is no warranty. It's my second run in at this wheel works that sent up red flags. Being hounded to get that lifetime alignment plan after declining several times is just bad customer service. Services rendered without consent feels like a bullying tactic, I don't feel like I should be made to feel like I owe money for anything I didn't ask for.
