This is a wonderful shop. I don't stop in nearly as often as I would like (work takes up so much…read moretime that could be spent knitting or crocheting, right?), yet absolutely every time I have walked in, Cathy (the owner) has remembered me, and has always greeted me warmly. She and her employees are knowledgeable and helpful, and I have never felt pressured to purchase anything. I visited this past week with a mission to find yarn to go with a dress I had purchased; love the dress, but it is sleeveless, and I need something to slip on for cooler temps. Not finding anything online or in stores, I decided to knit a shrug. Cathy helped me choose not only yarn that went with the colors in the dress, she unwound skeins in order to choose the two skeins that best matched each other. She also looked at my pattern and confirmed how much yarn I needed and what weight (we changed it from a DK to a worsted weight). I know that if I run into any challenges while making my piece, I can go into the shop and receive knitting advice. Skeins of yarn are wound at no cost, classes are offered for knitters and crocheters of all levels, and this shop participates each year in the annual Yarn Discovery Tour. Purchases are recorded on your Yarn Card - I completed mine with this visit and received a $$ reward that was applied to my purchase.

I ADORE the Artful Yarn! I recently discovered this place because a dear friend of mine wanted to…read morelearn how to knit. So I went on living social and found a deal that The Artful Yarn was having. Knitting lessons for 2- for 2 days!!! I couldn't beat the deal! So after a lot of back and forth with the Owner, Cathy, my friend and I finally found some dates that work for us! When we arrived to the store, we both were in amazement! They have everything you can think of! And Cathy!!!! I just heart her! When she discovered who I was, ran up and gave me one of the best hugs ever! She totally won me over that day! The knitting class that we took was very worthwhile. Not only did we learn how to do 3 stitches, they also gave as some history about knitting and some vocabulary. After the second class, my friend and I feel as though we are pros! LOL! Not really, but we are more confidenet know to bust out our needles. With the class we receive knitting needles, a book, a bag, and some NICE thread. They offer a lot more classes, even have like a "help-line", and a knitting corner- where you can bring in your latest project and just knit and chat with the ladies. I for sure will be back!

Super adorable shop in a super adorable area.... just super... and adorable! ;)…read more But, really, this is an awesome little shop, with great gift ideas. They have everything from drink ware to aprons, to stationary, even things for children/babies in the back of the shop. I enjoy coming by here whenever I'm walking around Chagrin Falls. I've bought multiple things on multiple occasions here - "corkcicle" to chill bottles of wine, an adorable tumbler, and some stationary for a friend. Depending on what you're buying, it can be on the pricier end, but things from LMS make adorable gifts so some things are worth it, in my opinion. I haven't used the personalization yet from them, but my understanding is that you tell them how you want things personalized and come back at a later date to pick up. I wish they were open on Sundays because I pretty much only visit the area Saturdays and Sundays. I encountered only one snooty sales lady, who just sat there watching people and didn't greet anyone that walked in. But, for the most part, I think all of the employees are wonderful, helpful and friendly :) If you're looking for a cute little gift, I think you should def check this place out :)

I had to call and…read moremake a few trips to track down the owner about the situation (there is no manager and the owner is difficult to get a hold of and didn't return my call). I complained when I picked it up because the monogram wasn't the correct size, it wasn't the cursive font I chose, or anything like the sample I left. The employee (who I later learned was the owner and monogrammer) was short with me and told me it was the best they could do. I called when I got home to ask for the manager and learned I'd have to talk to the owner. However, when I went back, I realized I had already talked to her and she hadn't been apologetic. I got a refund for the Mongramming and an offer to redo with the font I chose with no guarantee the old monogram won't show. I wanted the font I chose the first time or a call if there was a concern! I am out the cost of a Pottery Barn Kids stocking, plus left with the frustration of trying to figure out what to do now to get my son a matching stocking for Christmas since the one I have that matches the family set is sold out. I chose this place based on positive reviews, but I honestly can't recommend.

I went over to get my caricature drawn and asked her if she had eaten since I paid for her to do so she said no I had the caterer make her a plate of food as she sat at the table and ate (15-30mins) she told people she was closed and to write their name on a waitlist and come back, she still left at 9 and didnt make up for her "break" she did not fulfill the waitlist my 8 year old niece went back over and she was gone (niece cried the rest of the night) the people she did draw threw their drawings away or left them behind because they looked nothing like them...
