This is a wonderful shop. She and her employees are knowledgeable and helpful, and I have never felt pressured to purchase anything. I visited this past week with a mission to find yarn to go with a dress I had purchased; love the dress, but it is sleeveless, and I need something to slip on for cooler temps. Not finding anything online or in stores, I decided to knit a shrug. Cathy helped me choose not only yarn that went with the colors in the dress, she unwound skeins in order to choose the two skeins that best matched each other. She also looked at my pattern and confirmed how much yarn I needed and what weight (we changed it from a DK to a worsted weight). I know that if I run into any challenges while making my piece, I can go into the shop and receive knitting advice. Skeins of yarn are wound at no cost, classes are offered for knitters and crocheters of all levels, and this shop participates each year in the annual Yarn Discovery Tour. Purchases are recorded on your Yarn Card - I completed mine with this visit and received a $$ reward that was applied to my purchase.

I haven't used the personalization yet from them, but my understanding is that you tell them how you want things personalized and come back at a later date to pick up. I wish they were open on Sundays because I pretty much only visit the area Saturdays and Sundays. I encountered only one snooty sales lady, who just sat there watching people and didn't greet anyone that walked in. I complained when I picked it up because the monogram wasn't the correct size, it wasn't the cursive font I chose, or anything like the sample I left. The employee (who I later learned was the owner and monogrammer) was short with me and told me it was the best they could do. I called when I got home to ask for the manager and learned I'd have to talk to the owner. However, when I went back, I realized I had already talked to her and she hadn't been apologetic. I got a refund for the Mongramming and an offer to redo with the font I chose with no guarantee the old monogram won't show. I wanted the font I chose the first time or a call if there was a concern! I am out the cost of a Pottery Barn Kids stocking, plus left with the frustration of trying to figure out what to do now to get my son a matching stocking for Christmas since the one I have that matches the family set is sold out. They said that next time I should fix the borders and you won't notice it. These cards look absolutely awful, theyre a misprint and im forced to keep them. This is something that will represent your business and this company does not care about the final product, as long as they got paid. nowhere in their template or instructions do they mention that they won't be perfectly centered, or that a border will be an issue.
