I almost walked out before the play started. However, I wanted to give the actors a chance to overcome the distasteful display of hate and assumptions. When they have Prince Andrew and Mendelson to target, they target the President of the United States. Not every play goer is hateful and against Our President. That said, there are the typical opening night issues. Long pauses that indicated lines were forgotten or missed. The sound was also a bit off. About who showed anger or severe emotional pain by screaming, were hard to understand and sounds muffled and lost. Either the actors were not annunciating or the sound was too high on they're mics. There seemed to be a few missed cues, as well. So if that said, this okay was fantastic and the kinks will be worked out in time. I wasn't sure about the minimalistic staging and lack of scenery, but I couldn't have been more impressed with the way the actors worked the bare stage making my imagination take over and seeing an entirely different experience in my mind. The acting was superb! Luccio came in a little rough, but he really stole the show by the end of the post. Well done! I would recommend the theater, as it is a bucket list for many thespians and okay goers! What an incredible production. Unfortunately, I allowed the RSC website to pick my seats. I ended up in a straight high back chair where my legs dangled and I couldn't see the entire state and videos in the background. It probably helped me be distracted by the disrespect they were insinuating. I would never buy tickets with these seats again. Almost intolerable, so the acting and entire production overshadowed what I didn't care for. Next time, if I'm lucky enough to be back in Stratford Upon Avon, I would return. Tolerance and giving things a chance worked out for me. I also live Shakespeare and am a thespian at heart.

Many of the seats are the same old church pews (with a small amount of added cushion). The leg room is very poor, and makes a 2-3 hour performance awkward to watch. The 'cafe' which is located on the 1st floor is very pleasant, with quick and friendly service. The food is good for the price, although the drinks are very expensive for the location/audience. I may sound negative, but I'd quite happily go again and again. The amount of (varied) artists that perform there is impressive

They have serious plays on which I have not seen but I have seen pantomimes and musicals and they are fantastic. The effort put in by everybody involved is wonderful as, of course, they all volunteer their time and efforts for free. Every production I've been to has been perfect, songs, acting, music, costumes etc. The seat were all poached from the local cinema round the corner when it was turned into a bank, apparently, and they are comfy and well spaced, altough I always always get stuck behind the woman who has her hair quaffered for the evening. During the interval you can lounge with a quick pint in the bar or go to the tea room. They have a sweet shop and a stall with annoying flashy things for the kids - usually for pantos. I highly recommend you try to get in to see one of their musicals, you won't be disappointed.

There is no real car parking at the actual theatre but there is a multi storey car park opposite which is open during performances. Tickets for shows can sometimes be hard to get hold off so you can join as a member and get the first offers on tickets which is worth doing as the shows they put on are fantastic. The actors always put in 110% effort and it's great to see so many amatuer actors putting their hearts and souls into the performances. During the interval there is a bar area to go and grab a drink which can get busy so it is worth putting your order in at the beginning of the night. I would highly recommend anyone to go and see a show at the Concordia - you will have a great night!

Its situated on Stoneway Steps and rumour has it that it is haunted which always fascinated me as a child. As a review about the venue I can honestly say that the Rep has got better and better over time. Tonight I was in the House for 'The Exorcist', comfortable seating and wonderful production on the stage. Last year we were in the studio for 'Beryl', one of the best plays I have seen. Again great production values and a very comfortable experience for the audience. The Marmalade bar offers great cocktails, you can dine here too. Centenary Square is a big part of the cultural quarter of Birmingham with Symphony Hall, The Rep and Library of Birmingham all lined up like ducks in a row. Whilst the Rep seems to have been here forever, it feels brand new on the inside. There's a wonderful ambience around here, it's part of the Birmingham buzz. The real challenge of living in Birmingham, is that there is so much going on and only so much time. Then again, time spent at the Rep is happy time.

My first impressions of the building itself were positive, there was a buzz about the place and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Finding our seats was easy and the seating was generous, with plenty of legroom and offered an unobstructed view of the stage. Comfy too, having been to many performances elsewhere where fidgeting becomes the norm. The production itself was impressive, with a cast that were mostly familiar. I had been wondering how such a performance of the iconic horror tale would translate on stage and I was not disappointed. From the glare of the lights going up, to being suddenly (and loudly) plunged into darkness set the tone for the evening. The effects were spectacular, with a mix of live action, projections and more traditional effects. Yes, we get the iconic scenes, voice effects and some blood and gore. I had been trying to work out who was voicing the demon, and had the of course moment when I read my programme of Sir Ian McKellen. An eerie and unsettling tone is kept throughout, and is a treat for any horror fan. The Seance was a trippy mind game from start to finish. I don't want to spoil too much (I went in knowing nothing), as people are booked in over the coming days. What I will say is this. Your senses are deprived and the tension ramped up to boiling point. I don't scare easily but when the lights finally came on, I realised I had been holding my breath mostly. Had my eyes been open or closed? Such fun though. I also got to experience the bar, Marmalade and the atmosphere in there was fantastic. I look forward to sampling the menu on my next visit!

What a beautiful venue!…read more I went to see John Cooper Clarke perform, I left with a big smile on my face. Not just from the performance, but from the venue as well. Has a bar area, where drinks can also be pre-ordered for the interval, it is clean and warming, and the theatre itself is a gem. I did find the seats a little small, the larger bodied person may struggle, not sure if they have provisions. Ample free car parking outside too.

They provide; many shows such as little women, oliver and also many other more unknown directors and plays. they normally show a couple of films, although they are always older ones that seem to have finished at our local comp[lex months before. they have amateur dramatics groups both for adults and childre. On wednesday nights they also hire out all the costumes, from 5 gbp per week per costume, which is a bargain and i promise when you get in there trying stuff on, you just do not want to stop. The seats, the size, the decor etc are all very stanrd and also quite traditional and on the small size, but this is what gives our theatre its charm. Overall i think most of the locals quite like this theatre, especially as its steeped in history and atmosphere.

After a gap of some two years, I went to see Macbeth last night…read more I have been going to this theatre for some 23 years now, and, after a gap of some two years, walked into a time warp! In a good way! It retains it's young, vibrant and exciting atmosphere, making you want to visit just for a drink. The 'pub', now called Cast, has changed dramatically in its' decor since the late sixites but still buzzes with conversation. Shame about the 'music' - FAR too loud. Oh dear; am I getting old?! As for 'That Play'; well it was OK. The weird sisters were portrayed in a very interesting way but I found the acting in general to be rather over the top. But then I'm not an expert! And I didn't want to leave! xx
