Writing West Midlands are the literature development agency for the West Midlands. Would you believe. And a jolly good job they do, too. They run a number of writer development projects to nurture creative writers in this region, such as Room 204, which works with local emerging writers by giving them access to expertise, activities, opportunities and networks. They also put on the The Writers' Toolkit - the annual writer networking conference in Birmingham. As well as that, they produce the fantastic Birmingham Book Festival, as well as opportunities and activities for kids and young people. And then some. Foof! They are busy.
Simply, they're the biggest champion of all writing-related activity in the region, and they do a storming job for a small team. Without Writing West Midlands, the literary scene in Birmingham - and beyond - would be far worse off. read more
