What is most frustrating is that this policy was never disclosed before treatment. Had I been informed in advance that I would be expected to pay out of pocket despite having insurance, I would have declined the services and sought care elsewhere. Patients deserve complete transparency regarding financial policies before any work is performed. Springing unexpected payment demands on patients after treatment is unacceptable and undermines trust in the provider. Being upfront about costs is a basic expectation of any professional medical practice. The lack of transparency left me feeling misled and frustrated. Regardless of the quality of the medical care, billing practices like this are enough to make me never return or recommend this office to anyone. Patients should know exactly what their financial responsibility will be before consenting to treatment--not after the fact.

When he injected the local anesthetic into my cheek, I was surprised by how gentle he was and how painless the anesthetic was. He made sure to not rush the injection so it wouldn't hurt. He also found another cavity while doing my first filling and filled it for me while I was already numb, which I am grateful for. He took the time with me afterwards to answer all of my questions. The front desk staff and dental hygienists at this dental practice are also friendly, nice, and thorough - shout out to Evelyn, my favorite hygienist! There's plenty of parking at both the Gaithersburg and Kensington locations, just a narrow entry into both parking lots.

I have seen both Dr. Edmond Woo and Dr. Wang on various occasions for cleanings and regular check-ups. My appointments are quick and there's barely a wait-time if at all every time that I have gone. My hygienist today was Evelyn and she does an amazing job as well. Staff here are all very welcoming. The facility is very clean and I've personally witnessed the staff wipe down all equipment prior to and after each patient visit. There's a nice stream of background music they play as well which is nice. There's a private lot in the back for convenient parking and street parking out in front. If you're looking for a dentist in the Kensington or Wheaton area, I would highly recommend Dr. Woo's office.

It turned out that I didn't need a root canal on any of my teeth. His staff members also are very considerate when performing xrays and cleanings. Clearly, Dr. Khan is most concerned about giving his patients excellent care, and less concerned about putting dollars in his pocket. I trust him, and in the two years I've been a patient at his office, I've been very happy with the level of service I've received both when I didn't have dental insurance, and when I did have insurance. I found his pricing to be much less expensive than other dentists, and received consistent high quality services.

My teeth weren't in great shape as I hadn't been to a dentist in about 2 years, but Dr. Chopra got me on track, and I did better on my next visit in September 2020. Dr. Chopra & staff are pretty nice overall. They also had Saturday as an option, which I often did especially after I moved from Wheaton to Anne Arundel County in late 2020. I continued coming back to Wheaton for the dentist twice a year typically on a Saturday in 2021 to 2023 after moving because frankly I liked Dental Design well overall, and it's a hassle looking for a new dentist, scheduling, etc. and a risk of not liking the new dentist. Dr. Chopra scolded me a couple of times for canceling Saturday times for ones weeks, month or even more later because she said Saturday times are highly coveted for people. I get she's trying to run a business, but when booking 6 months out it's hard to know for sure if that particular Saturday works. For example, I had a trivia tournament one Saturday in 2023, so coming to the dentist too wasn't possible. My final visit was in October 2023, and I booked for a Saturday in April 2024. But as the week got closer, I realized it wasn't going to work and was concerned about possibly being scolded for switching. My girlfriend recommended her dentist in Cloverly, and I decided to go with them. Although Cloverly is still in Montgomery County, it's easier to get to from where I live, than to go all the way to trafficky Wheaton. Overall, this is a good local neighborhood dentist for people who live in Wheaton or other nearby areas. Dr. Chopra is generally nice. She can be matter of fact with the teeth, and she cares about your good dental health.
