I've only had two mani/pedis here so far, but I am already a huge fan. This nail salon is in a higher-end shopping center and that is definitely reflected in the quality of service and the products they use. Most nail salons have a few shelves full of Essie and OPI polishes in mostly neutrals, clears, pinks and red colors, but Wheatley Nail & Beauty has even more brands and colors to choose from. Both times I've been, I've picked Zoya colors which always feels like a treat since Zoya isn't typically offered at other salons. I've also found that compared to the treatments that are included in other nail salon's pedicure packages, Wheatley Nail & Beauty includes a lot more for the price of a standard pedicure. For example, even in their most basic pedicure, they give your legs a short hot stone massage and soak your heels in paraffin wax. Depending on where you go, either of those services can sometimes cost a little extra. While the mani/pedis are a little bit more expensive than what you would find elsewhere (a regular manicure and pedicure will run you $45 total), I think they are absolutely worth it. Both manicures I've gotten went a whole week before they started to chip. I don't know if this is due to the Zoya nail polish, or the expertise demonstrated by the nail technicians, but I'm inclined to think it's the latter. I would love to give this place 5 stars, but the most recent time I went, I had trouble using a gift card I had received. I know for a fact that I had not used it yet, and there should have been more than enough money to cover both a manicure and a pedicure. But when they went to redeem it, they told me that there was no money left on it. Usually, when a business has a system where gift card information is stored electronically, they are able to swipe the card and recall its transaction history. This was not the case here. I was offered very little explanation as for why the card was not working other than "There's no money left." While they did seem apologetic about the issue, they had asked me to ask the person I received it from when it was purchased and what the starting balance was, which I am not comfortable doing. read more

I enjoyed my mani/pedi here. Open on Sunday, which is why I went. Was busy, but a lot of people working. Was efficient- 1.5 hours which is typical for my services. The regular pedi used paraffin wax and hot stones. I give 4 stars because it was significantly more expensive than I pay at other places (usually I pay about $75 for regular pedi and regular gel mani, but at Wheatley paid $98; both pre-tip). That said, I'd come back if my usual place isn't open and I'm in a bind, ie on Sundays. (My usual place also uses hot stone and paraffin, but much cheaper so quality at both places is comparable). read more

Looks are deceiving. Wheatley Beauty seems very nice, professional, clean and accommodating. One of the reviewers mentioned no additional upcharge for using Zoya nail polishes; I was very enticed by the offer. Last week I opted for a manicure and selected a brave bold purple hue nail polish by Zoya brand. Not sure if the staff dilutes the nail polishes or plaster 'zoya" logo on the bottles, however the nail polish peeled off the next morning. I thought to myself, my own doing, should have done a lighter hue. In fairness manicure quality was bearable; still do not believe it was $20.00. At least nobody nagged me for tip last week. I was in the area earlier today; since it is wet out, I figured it would be a good day to get a manicure. Manicure and Pedicure was $70.00. The girl doing it asked and reminded me about tipping policy and tipping amounts about 5 times. She also really wanted to know what I did for living since I could afford to get a manicure in the middle of the day. I politely brushed her off. I wanted to like this place and become a regular since I am about to move to the neighborhood. However, i will never for any reason return - as this was the worst experience I've ever had. 1. My technician kept sighing, sucking her teeth, and shaking her head because my old gel was thick and hard to remove. I understand that it could be hard but why give me an attitude? (I did not make it a big deal and let it go) 2. She forgot to apply base coat. Although i should have, i didnt say anything. Figured its not a big deal. 3. As soon as she was done she got up and disappeared instead of guiding me to the drying station. I was going to tell her but she disappeared and i was just left unattended. 4. In the middle of her filing my nails, she asked me where i was from. When i told her im korean, she told her coworker in chinese that im korean in such a condescending way. How did i know? I'm not chinese but learned basic chinese and could understand basic conversations. Guess they got something against koreans. 5. As i was walking out i noticed that i mightve been overcharged (paid $26 for gel removal and regular mani, but it was written as $15 for regular mani..) so i asked the lady sitting at the front desk who seem to be either a manager or the owner, and she told me that there was an extra charge for the polish that i picked. I explained that no one told me and she says "oh, sorry. Its because youre new here". Fine, i left without saying anything 6. I left thinking that everybody makes mistakes and i will try them out one more time since they seem clean and so close to my new house. But when i started driving i realized that i was bleeding because the technician aggressively snipped off my skin. Came with my daughter & mom last night for a mani. I wanted a pedi but came too late. Last pedi would be around 6:30 as they close at 7:30. The manicurists were all very nice and friendly. They're also gentle. My daughter was only 6 and had her first mani. Kiki did her nails and was very gentle with her. Not a peep of complaint from my daughter. Lala did mine and was also gentle. I love the result. She removed all the dry skin & moisturized my hand. It was completely different. Loved it. Will definitely come back next time to do a mani/pedi combo. May even try gel next time. Prices were very fair as well. For those wondering, it was $15 mani for me & mom (each), and $10 for my daughter [not including tip]. read more

I came here for the first time this week, and I loved it! I had been wanting to try a new nail salon, since the ones I had experienced in the past were not clean and did a sloppy job. I loved the look and feel of the salon from the moment I walked in! It is spacious, very well-decorated, quiet and a friendly atmosphere. And Wheatley Beauty is clean and uses sealed tools every time! The staff is very nice! Also, the selection of nail polish is never ending! I love that they carry Zoya, Essie, OPI and much more! They also offer spa and skincare treatments which may be very appealing to potential customers. The reason I gave it four stars is that the prices are a bit high. But I guess that's the area for you. I come here every so often when my regular salon is busy. Although the place is clean & tends to try to have an upscale flair, I've noticed that if you don't tip the girls over 20%, they tend to not give you the mini massage after your service. I'll tip the girls more if they do more than what's expected of them. I can get a cheaper manicure & get a mini massage from another salon. They should realize that you need to treat your customers the same & not pick & choose who to give a massage to, if they get a great tip. This doesn't sit well with me. read more

And the range of Zoya colors is ridic! A whole wall! I can go on and on about this place! Gel mani was $35. Pedi was $30. I've been going to a hole in the wall across the Broadway LIRR station called Yoo's Nails for the past few months but no more! Yoo's owner is a real Debbie downer, the place is small and dingy, they are super anal with appts (if u call and they are booked they won't offer another solution but will just say that they're booked). She's sort of has that "I'm too good for u" attitude which I find odd for a tiny business owner. And they overcharge!!! If I could give 0 stars I would. My friend and I had booked a nail appointment at a new place because we wanted to try a new spot to get our nails done. We missed that appointment and had to find a new salon last minute because we were eager to get our nails done. Mind you the place we were supposed to go offers the same looking nails, in fact BETTER LOOKING NAILS, but yet they charge $45 for acrylic nails + whatever price for gel. We go into Wheatley Beauty (again, new place for us) and we sit down and they put they acrylic nails on us then decide to tell us it will be $70 for acrylic nails + $20 for gel so all together $90 for gel acrylic tips and of course a tip so in total I had to spend $100 on my nails that will only probably last me a good week or two!!!!!! Although this place seems fancy, NO NAILS ARE WORTH $90!! David didn't even shape my nails correctly they look uneven and barely coffin shaped. My friend and I have gotten acrylic nails done at NUMEROUS places and it has never ever been more than $50 for acrylic nails (and yes they came out just as good as they did at Wheatley Beauty). I never am angry enough to write a review on yelp so this is my first time which says a lot about how terrible my experience was at Wheatley. This place is extremely overpriced for no reason, no matter how fancy it looks-the nails still look the same as any other nail salon I've been to. I have learned my lesson and next time I will be reading ALL YELP REVIEWS before I try a new nail salon and make sure to ask how much for acrylic tips because I will never allow myself to be SCAMMED into paying $100 for nails ever again. I recently discovered Wheatley Beauty because it's so close to work, which was my primary reason for trying it out. So I went in for a pedicure, thinking it would be a "safe" service with low risk. I had one of the best pedicures I've ever received in my "high maintenance life." I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the place: the salon is well-lit, tastefully decorated, and nicely organized. I was even happier when I learned that they also offer waxing and eye lash extension services! Now Wheatley Beauty is my go-to place for all these services. If they did hair, my life would be perfect! Kelley does an amazing job on my nails: she's fast and my nails look great when she's finished. Bettie is a pro at eyelash extensions. She's so gentle with the lashes that I nap through the whole process, and my lashes never looked better. It's a shame I'm in NY for a short period of time. I know it will be a challenge for me to find a salon of this caliber anywhere else. I highly recommend Wheatley Beauty to anyone looking for great service, good pricing, and friendly staff. read more

I'm appalled at the handling of a customer that knocked over a bottle of nail polish. I saw it unfold, the customer, an older woman was putting her cost on when she accidentally knocked over a bottle of nail polish. The owner had the audacity to tell the customer she had to pay $10 for the bottle! Better yet is that the owner had the manicurist tell the customer. That is really poor customer relations - I would not go back there. With that type of management I wish them a lot of luck at wheatly plaza. I just want to shout from the rooftops that everyone in the world should go here! Lacking a large enough rooftop, I decided to write a Yelp review. Wheatley Beauty had only been open 3 days when I popped in there randomly for a much-needed pedicure. I drive by Wheatley Plaza all the time to get to school and this little gem is tucked in the corner behind Starbucks. Everyone inside was so friendly, nice, and accommodating. It's brand new so everything is super clean, and they use sterilized instruments for each customer so your nails are in good hands. There was a huge display of nail polish colors to choose from and the man working on my feet and nails was amazing. I was so relaxed and well taken care of while I was there and the pedicure looks beautiful. They also do waxing, artificial nails, chair massages, manicures, facials, and sunless tanning. The icing on the cake is how well-priced everything is! Just $30 for my pedicure that came with an aloe vera scrub. Holy cow! Can't recommend it enough. Go and see these lovely people and treat yourself to something nice! read more
