There was plenty of fenced in space around the cabin for even our Great Dane to wander around. The dog parks are really nice and our dog especially loved the pond park. The dog wash station is a really nice touch too. The rate is comparable to a mid range hotel, but instead you get a fancy, well appointed cabin that's completely dog friendly and has a ton more amenities. Overall we had a fantastic time and will definitely be back. Top tier A++ dog vacation.

We brought our two senior Shibas, who aren't really into dog parks or other dogs, and they were able to have the entire parks to themselves for at least an hour each day we went. They had so much fun, and being able to pick up some dog treats on the way home from our park adventure was a nice touch. The staff here do an amazing job keeping the campgrounds clean, maintained, and filled with fun activities for dogs and people. Having a fenced in site was great, and our dogs felt right at home. The RV is stocked with almost everything you'll need for a few days, just bring food, towels and personal hygiene stuff and you're set. There's also washers/dryers/general store if you forget anything. Overall we had such a fun time just hanging out, spending quality time with our dogs. There were a ton of social events going on - bonfires, happy hr, etc but we're antisocial so we watched from afar. Looked fun though! We will definitely be back next summer! *My only suggestion would be to include an EV charging station, we were able to trickle charge our vehicle with no issues but having a paid EV charging site/parking spot would be an awesome addition to help generate revenue and attract more road trippers and you can charge while you're at the dog parks. I understand it's mostly a RV destination, but being able to charge our vehicle while we rented the RV was really convenient especially because the nearest supercharger is 45 min away.

I loved the little touches like having puzzles and kid books in the loft. The touches of making it 'bird themed' were just enough, and didn't make you feel like you were in a Hitchcock movie. While this was a kid free weekend for us, we definitely could see it being perfect for a family as well. Everything was well maintained. Communication with the staff was fantastic and we were really able to unplug and unwind. If you do get antsy and want to go shopping or exploring, Lake Lure is just a short drive away. Once I parked, I was not disturbed by anyone or anything. From the lot where I was parked, there was no access to the park's wifi but I had four bars of LTE on Sprint. The park's water was cold and clean. As clean as the stuff I get out of the tap at my own home. As I mentioned, lot 47 was quiet. It was also level and had a water tap, power hookup and sewer access. I hooked up when I arrived and had no issues at all. One note is that the Harris Speedway is about a mile and a half away. There was some engine noises one evening but it ended by 9ish. This cabin has many stairs to walk up and the gravel grading on the road is steep. Hard to maneuver with my small SUV and for my mom who is limited with mobility. But we made it. Loved the rustic charm of the cabin. Please keep it rustic and May I suggest eliminating the modern/youthful decor as it doesn't pair well. (Pics to follow). Beds were clean and comfortable. Pull string on fan/light in bedroom needs to be longer. Kitchen was an accommodating but could use new pans, potholders and a smaller spatula to flip eggs. Keurig and K-Cups were a nice touch. Thank you. A deep cleaning is needed! No fire starter log in stove, tv remote didn't work. (We didn't need these anyway). Back door in kitchen would not lock. I messaged about it and was told it would be fixed in the morning. I didn't sleep that night at all and placed the large buffet in front of door to ensure no human or wildlife interaction happened on my watch. Victim of former burglary and I think there is some PTSD from that. Issue was resolved next afternoon and I slept great the other two nights. Road work was being done on property while there. So that made it noisy early in the morning and until about 5:30 PM. But the workers were very kind and I understand work doesn't cease. I just hope owners take note to prioritize work to be done on slower seasons ;) Not leaf peeping time. We will return but stay in a different cabin that is more easily accessible. The price was affordable and we enjoyed our stay overall. Please keep this place quaint and rustic. These serene places in nature need to be preserved and respected in order to enjoy and respect them. Do not install WI-FI or make it something it isn't meant to be. A respite away and in nature is needed for us humans to escape and unwind. I hope the owners hear this and take into consideration what is truly needed for us as humans.

There are a few other homes on the property too. The spot is nestled in to its 26 acres with plenty of trails in the woods. We cooked our meals in the well equipped kitchen, burned logs in the large stone fireplace, and wandered the trails. One evening the proprietors came over and set up the most amazing bonfire and s'mores feast I have ever seen!! We will be returning to Alpine South for sure.

The owner, Gabe went above and beyond making sure we had everything we needed. I am not really a camping person so he would send me info on how to do thinks including on how to get the gas heater working. The Glaming (tent) was the only thing available since I booked the night before. I will definitely be back with more family and stay at any of the places offered here. They run this place like a family.. They truly care about you and do whatever they can to help you out.. The management is top notch as well..I live here year round and i can tell you They are on top of it.. trash it's picked up weekly and a new bag put in your trash can.. The grass is mowed quite often and it's always in Good shape.. Beautiful scenery.. Good neighbor that look out for one another.. Decent lot rent.. Great owners.. Great management.. Yeah i love it and will be here till i die.. I'm not going anywhere..I am home..
