I had been growing my beard out for 4 months and needed a TRIM for an upcoming interview. I explained to the barber that I was growing my beard out, wanted to keep the length, but needed a little trimmed off the sides and some weight taken off the bottom to neaten it up.
He completely destroyed my beard. He took most of the length off the sides (we're talking INCHES)--there's barely anything left. I already had an issue with there being a lot of volume under my chin, but the way he cut it makes it poof out. He even shaved part of my cheek lines. Luckily I stopped him before he cut on my handlebar.
Afterwards he said he needed to make my face look less round. I never mentioned not liking the shape of my face or desiring a longer face (my face is actually oval). This shape and overall look of my beard and face is totally different and it is a style that does not suit me. But now all I can do now is wait another 4 months. I'm devastated. To add to it, I had an allergic reaction to whatever product he used.
I can say the barber was nice. He fit me in last minute, trimmed up the back of my neck (I'm between haircuts) and did some quick threading of the hair between my eyes. But it doesn't make up for the horrible result.
