Stopped by for a late lunch since we were staying at the hotel…read more Our waitress was friendly and generally attentive, but it wasn't the best service we've had. Our order was taken quickly, and came out in a reasonable amount of time. There was a large funeral across the street and apparently the attendees gathered here afterwards because it was pretty busy for a Saturday afternoon. But it was still not too crazy and we were able to have a conversation at a reasonable volume. Lots of TVS playing sports. Some reviews referred to it as a nightclub which seems a stretch. At least in the afternoon it was family friendly.. The espresso martinis were strong and all alcohol. But what I'm used to and not my favorite but we definitely got a nice buzz! The cheese curds were average; the pizza fries were an interesting concept. It would have been nice if the cheese had been melted more. The pepperoni was somewhat spicy. The fries were really good! I truly enjoyed the quinoa bowl. The pork belly was crispy and crunchy and just delectable. It worked well with the quinoa and vegetables. I'd happily eat this regularly. Prices are average. Especially for a hotel, one might even consider them reasonable. It's a good option if you don't want to leave the hotel.

I sat at the bar and ordered the wings which were crispy and good. I have a garlic allergy and they checked the ingredients to make sure I could have a few things. I ordered a steak and it was cooked medium, had a good experience. People were friendly and there are plenty of TVs to watch games and when it is nicer outside they have an outside patio.

Do you ever have a food that you just crave? For me it's wings. I could probably eat wings everyday…read moreand never get sick of them. I like hot wings, bbq wings, and will try most any flavor. My absolute favorites though are the Plum Barbeque Wings at Green Mill. They are so delicious and always hit the spot. I always order them with a side of the sweet potato fries and honey mustard. Green Mill has a great menu with something for everyone. In fact, when we have family up here this is usually the spot we take them. There aren't any Green Mills in Florida so it's new for them. We always get the spinach and artichoke dip. It comes with bread, but they're really good about substituting gluten free items so I always get the corn chips. The cheese curds are also great. My friend loves their Langostino Lobster & Shrimp. I think he orders this every time we go. When my sister came up on her last visit she chose the Lobster Mac 'n' Cheese and raved about it. They also make a fantastic Strawberry Daquiri Of course there's a full drink menu with several other choices, but my sister and I prefer these. What's great about Green Mill is not only can everyone find something they like, it's also nice on the pocket book. Their prices are comparable with competitors like Applebee's and Chili's.

There wasn't any pizza available for over 20 minutes. Desserts were not good either. Maybe cut down on the variety and focus on quality of the food. At $35.99 per person I expected good food. Very disappointing.

Hungry in the Hawkeye State [St Ansgar IA]…read more After taking the self-guided tour at the SPAM Museum in Austin MN we decided to skip having lunch around the area and drove over the state line to Iowa and had lunch at this unassuming place called City Limits Bar & Grill. It was 21 miles from the Spam Museum to the restaurant. We arrived around 2:45p and the restaurant was surprisingly busy, the crowd was loud, various sports were showing on the flatscreens, everyone just having a great time. The waitress was busy but she single-handedly handled the crowd and the bar pretty well. On the way here we passed by seemingly countless rows of corn and wheat. When the waitress came to our table to get our orders we asked her what is a popular food Iowans like to eat. She pointed on the menu at the Old Fashioned Fritter sandwich. It is a center-cut pork loin, pounded and either grilled or dipped in their signature batter then fried. I ordered a 16-oz Bone-in French cut Ribeye. She said there are more cattle than people and the most pork LoL! They are also known for their steak. She wasn't lying... both the Iowa-style breaded pork fritter sandwich and the steak were delicious. It was just funny seeing the humungous pork tenderloin in between the bread and made the buns look tiny. The beef is so tender, juicy and flavorful. Looks like a popular place with the locals and visitors too with its warm, inviting ambiance and friendly staff. Review #3844
