Went through drive up and ordered two salads and two shakes. Finally got to window and paid and got the shakes. Was told to pull around front and salads would be put in a couple of Minutes. 25 minutes later my husband walked in to cancel Our order and get refunded. I like a Whataburger burger. Probably my favorite fast food burger. I haven't tried much else -a patty melt once. It was ok but I'll stick with the standard whataburger. It's a good size, juicy, tasty & made to order. I like that they chop the lettuce & onion up. If you want ketchup on it, you need to ask. Fries are pretty good too. This place is the epitome of what NOT to do. The franchise owners should sell & get out. We waited TWENTY MINUTES for 2 sandwiches & fries. People after us were served before us. Adding extra pickles to a burger shouldn't add any time. Then the fries were cold! The ranch buffalo chicken sandwich was dripping in ranch but had very little buffalo sauce. The burger had ZERO pickles when extra were ordered. The manager tried saying it was a shift change. In the middle of the lunch crowd at 115pm? And do NOT call me "hon". If you're from Texas Whataburger is in your DNA and just overall it's perfect however here at this location it is absolutely awful! The wait is always the same and I don't understand why this problem just isn't a thing in Texas, every time I have ordered ive waited between 30-1hr for my order... if the food wasn't what it was I'm sure they would be out of business! You might aswell order in store because drive thru and curbside pick-up is pointless, you end up waiting longer than just going in store.... Hot damn this was amazing. The pico burger is the best burger I think I've had from a fast food place in a long time. It's pretty spicy so if that's what you like then get this burger. The meat was so fresh right off the grill. The patties are pretty big, they don't skimp on portions. Definitely a local favorite. Probably the worst customer service I've ever seen. A manager is running around frantically trying to make up for the other employees slack. One person working, eight others walking around chit chatting, while customers angrily wait for their food. All of this while the drive through is wrapped around the building. This was my second time at whataburger. The first time wasnt a good experience because we had taken our order to go and when we got back to our hotel we noticed that both of our orders were wrong. My spouse had ordered a whataburger while I wanted to try the avocado bacon burger. However, when we opened up our sandwiches it was some sort of chicken strip sandwich. Whataburger is a Texas-based burger chain that apparently has locations in Florida. When I noticed this, I knew I would have to try it. After all, a burger from Whataburger can cure cancer, restore 20/20 vision, make you grow taller, make you earn and feel like a million dollars, all while helping you solve the world's many crises. At least, that's the hype that every single fan boy eagerly provides. I went with the Chop House Cheddar Burger - two patties topped with grilled onions, bacon, and steak sauce. I knew from the large cup that was included with my not-super-sized meal that this burger will probably also be massive. Given that I am a glutton, I of course don't object to this fact. After waiting a reasonable amount of time, a friendly employee brought our food to our table. She also offered other dining essentials such as regular ketchup, spicy ketchup, and napkins. The fries are nothing special at Whataburger, but not total crap like the fries at In-n-Out. I'm also a huge fan of spicy ketchup, since you get all of the flavor, all of the sodium, but none of the fat. The burger itself was definitely Texas-sized, and that makes it pretty awesome by default. Unfortunately, this awesomeness was undermined by the quality of the patty. I was expecting slightly more than the processed to death taste of a Double Quarter Pounder. I feel that regional burger places, like Whataburger and In-n-Out, are overhyped by people who grew up in those respective regions. I liked Whataburger. I appreciate the immense size of their burgers, and the fact that their fries don't suck. With comparable prices to more traditional fast food places, Whataburger should certainly be picked over McDonald's, Burger King, and Wendy's. I ordered the onion rings instead of fries and they were tasty.The meal cost me about $7 bucks and I don't think it was worth it being that the burger was suppose to be the star of the show but was the runner up. The staff was hard at work, a store front full of guest waiting to order and waiting for food. It did take 30 minutes to get food but they did a great job. The drive threw was deep with cars waiting to order. We have got to be patience. People are not going to work but the same people want perfect prompt service while they throw trash in the parking lot. Love Whataburger! This location has been a staple on the West side/ Brownsville area for years and years. The 3 stars is because this location is always hit and miss. Sometimes it's excellent, fast and friendly. Other times, the drive thru will get bogged down and the food will be cold or messed up. read more
