What a burger has some of the best burgers! I'm giving myself a special treat with the sweet n spicy burger! It's not to crowded and even if it was, I've learned the best service is in the inside! So I order my meal at the register to go and take a seat inside. People are complaining at the register but I'm not jaded yet! I'm praying for a good burger. My mistake was choosing this Whataburger and going through the drive-through. I forgot why I hadn't been here in a long while. It takes far too long for a fast food place. 13 minutes for a taquito, hash browns, and small drink. One car ahead of me in line and no cars in the parking lot and no visible customers in the building. I didn't quite make out what the person said as they hastily threw my bag in my window while I was waiting in the outside waiting line, but it sounded something like, "as always, sorry about the wait." Whatawait it is. That's why I haven't been there in ages. They did say sorry, though. That has to be worth a star, right? As far as the order:I can understand filling up the drink with Diet Coke instead of DDP, but I can't understand making a mess by dumping it out and refilling the cup then handing it to me with the outside covered in soda and dripping everywhere while the lid is mangled and insecure. The hash browns were overcooked and not too warm. Those were what I was most looking forward to. The taquito was folded nearly in half at the bottom of the bag. I do like their bacon. That makes two stars, but there are no more stars to be had based on this and previous experiences in the last couple years. There were two napkins crumpled into almost a ball and tossed in the bag. Every now and then you want food outside of typical business hours and don't want to cook or dine in, so you my find yourself at a McDonald's or whataburger late night. The wait time is almost always nearly 40 minutes in drive through. My husband and I just decide to play games on our phones until we can inch forward bit by bit. As annoying as that is we know what we are signing up for when we make the decision to visit here. The issue is waiting that long for food that is poorly made and only gotten worse over the years. Lately the fried food tastes like it's cooked in old oil leaving a gross aftertaste and the sandwiches are thrown together and barely wrapped before tossed in your bag. I don't know why this facility is not equipped to handle so many customers but every time I go past there it's a line into the street. The one night I decided to go I waited 40 minutes for a hamburger and the wrong dipping sauce. I was so excited to get out of Whataburger line prison that I sped off without checking. It's typical Whataburger food but you have to ask yourself is it worth wasting about an hour of your time total to get just a combo? ***Just realized I NEVER HIT SEND on this review awhile back but I'm adamant that this needed to be posted. Let me first state the fact that I honestly haven't posted a negative review like this EVER. I'm big on giving credit where credit is due so I definitely will compliment people/places/services rendered on apps like this, open table, trip advisor, google, etc. I really have a disdain for having to even do this. Management should realize that extra training is needed to prevent outrageous employee customer service dissatisfaction!! I stopped by here last night in the drive thru & ordered 2 hamburgers, 1 Med fry & 1 large coke. The line was long so we waited about 10-15 minutes to get to the order screen. The very first thing we said was 2 hamburgers & repeated it then we finally get to window where you pay & pick up food almost an hour later (definitely not fast food). We pay for the order then get the receipt & look in the bag....our order only had 1 burger so we told her it was wrong. Then we told her we needed to order another one since they got order wrong. The two girls working in drive thru refused to add the hamburger and let us pay at that point. They said we would need to go back into the line and reorder. So I said to her, so if I got out of the car and came inside as a customer paying inside are you able to add the hamburger? She said yes I can do that then. We decided to just leave and go to another drive through...besides, had we actually gone inside of course with the pandemic going on, we didn't feel safe nor were we wanting any of the food that they may have done something to at that point for inconveniencing them by having to ring it up while in front of the cash register versus them ringing it up from our car...SMH seriously?? First, it was their mistake rushing since there was a long line. But she blatantly refused unless we got out of our car & walked to register (where there were no customers inside) so ask yourself...why couldn't she have rung up the addtl burger on the register inside while allowing us to wait for the burger as we pulled up while it was cooking? But she BLATANTLY refused and this is BEYOND unacceptable customer service. She had a bad attitude although it was their mistake, the female employee handing out the food said she couldn't ring it up since it was the other girl who rung it up (last night @ 12/19/2020) I can now see CLEARLY for myself why this location has such bad reviews....it's obvious they don't care. If I were the franchise owner/manager, etc. I would make sure to go over these types of scenarios in team training to make sure customers will actually patronize my location. Go patronize another location until they train their employees better! For the employees, please keep in mind that if you run all your customers off with the "I don't care what anyone thinks" attitude then you may not have a job to go to if your employee isn't bringing in business. I ordered using the mobile app and designated curbside pickup. They sent me a confirmation email saying that it would be ready about 1:26 and to let the employee waiting outside know that I arrived. I arrived at 1:25 and wait....and wait. No employee outside. So after fifteen minutes I go inside. Only one person taking orders, 6 people in line waiting. Have been to this Whataburger 5 times and all 5 times have had issues. Wrong burgers, wrong drinks, staff that doesn't care about accuracy, and no accountability. The food is subpar for the Whataburger standard that everyone has come to know and love. Management needs to change or hold their staff accountable. One time, we literally were handed a bag full of tea from two large drinks because the cups had holes. The curbside employee (after I was waiting 45 minutes curbside), using a hand to hold up the liquid in the bag, attempted to give it to me and run off extremely fast knowing something was wrong. Both burgers were cold and pink, not cooked through. My burger had cheese and I don't eat cheese and did not order cheese. The fries are cold and stale. Nice Whataburger. I've been here a few times and what is consistent is how friendly the staff is and how hard they try to make your meal here a pleasant experience. Burgers here are a good alternative to going to the other fast food restaurants in the area. In the end, going here is not my first choice but when I do come here I'm glad I did. They give you a number when you order and you food is brought out to your table piping hot. I was just noticing that the lettuce, onions and tomatoes in my burger are fresh and crisp. Stopped here on my way home with family at about 10:30Pm Wednesday 01/13/21 and ordered mushroom Swiss burger combos. They were absolutely amazingly DELICIOUS and fresh! We enjoyed that they took the time to bag up each meal in their own separate bags unlike McDonald's and Burger King where they shove every single thing in the same crappy bag that ends up ripping! Got it home, there's no BURGER PATTY on the breakfast BURGER. Gravy has no sausage and didn't even get the extra gravy.
