Last night after driving 9 hours back home from visiting my critically I'll father. I came to whataburger to feed me n my kids. I wasn't dressed appropriately so hence the drive thru. Jammies it is for me for comfort. I patiently waited in the drive thru line for a Lil over 20 min I figured it was busy no rush me n my kids were chatting it up. Got my food drove off, I trusted that long aint no way anythings missing. Nope I was missing 1 burger kids to be exact n 2 apple pies I ordered late at the window. Well I come in politely asking about just that 1 burger n 2 pies n the girl looked down in where they put "misplaced items". N she said "do you have a receipt?" I wasn't thinking I literally just left the drive thru, I said"in my car but its literally those 2 pies n that Jr burger, I got 3 fries, 3 drinks but only 2 burgers." She wasn't having it, so I get another young lady who was nice n asked can I please see the receipt. Ok let me go to my car n get it. Meanwhile the other young lady keeps working rolling her eyes at me n I. Like wtf at this point I wasn't being rude I just wanted what I paid for. It was over $30 im no thief. So I get my food as the 2nd young lady assisted me she asked if I wanted a free cookie or anything I said no I just want what I paid for idk what her deal was that other girl but she really needs a retraining on customer service and dont judge a book by its cover this is the reason I went through the drive thru!!! Eventually my kid got her burger but I was already having a day for that rude whataburger girl to be giving me attitude. If i could put 0 i would put that. I never get a receipt when i come to this location. The dining room is always dirty and the trash over flowing. Restroom is always busy and it usually is dirty too. I prefer to go to the one down the street or across town. read more

I had ordered a very small order, and i reached the drive thru window 15-20 minutes later than when it said my food would be ready, only for them to not even have my order ready and ask what my order even was. Obviously it's a chain and there are like 2 on every corner here in Texas. But this one is directly across the street from my hotel. I have stopped in here several times during my stay. I did a curbside order and checked in, with my order to be ready between 7:39pm-7:42pm CST. Waited 30 minutes before I went into the restaurant to ask what is going on. They then started making my order, saying I had just barely checked in. I showed the manager how the app thanked me for checking in. She was rude, and said "I don't know what you did just now but you just barely checked in 1.5 minutes ago." While they offered to make my food, I said that I shouldn't have to pay after waiting 30 minutes. The manager said I would not be given a refund because I had not checked in, despite showing her the app saying I had checked in. Even if we were both right, that I had checked in and it took 30 minutes for them to receive notice, I as the customer was the one who was inconvenienced. Not the restaurant, manager, or staff. I received no apology for the poor experience and did not wait for my food. I called and requested a refund and was only given rewards points. I would not recommend this curbside service, or this establishment if this is how they will react when issues arise. read more

We arrived around 10:25pm thru the drive thru and did not get our order until about 11:15pm. By that time our burgers and fries were cold. Our 2 small cups of gravy were missing and so was our ketchup. We should have left when we saw the long line of cars at drive thru. The bag the burgers were in was so wet from condensation due to burgers sitting to long that it almost tore. This is about the 3rd time this happens at the west side location and will probably be our last. Don't waste your time here. Go to the east locations. I ordered a number one with no tomato instead I got a whole different meal. I got a burger with two patties and nothing else but tomato. My drink was basically water and my fries were stale and cold. The employees gave me and my mother attitude. I went to whataburger today thinking that i will get the best service. As i ordered i noticed that they didn't review my order so i just went along with my day. As soon as i got my receipt i checked it and every thing was correct. As we got to the window to get our food this young lady tried to argue with my mother and i that the drinks we were gonna get Weren't ours but in reality they were. I can't understand why Texans worship Whataburger. Went to one when I first arrived in May. Okay burger but nothing to rave about. Went again today. Burger was drier than a popcorn fart and the fries were colder than last year's bird's nest. Paid an extra 75 cents for a teaspoon of avocado to be smeared on under the wilted lettuce. Before I met the human I'm about to compliment, I saw a sign. Not a figurative one, a literal one. A striking neon sign glowing in the window. At most fast-food chains, the neon signage will be advertising a milkshake or a Nascar promotion etc. In commerce we trust. But this sign, in the window, was different. It said, in glowing letters, "One Nation, Under God, Indivisible." At a fast-food chain! They had me at "One Nation..." I'm sure folks take cheap potshots at them because of it. But it takes balls to put up a neon sign like that. The next thing I liked about this place was her voice. Disembodied, coming in over the outdoor drive-thru speaker -- the speakers that have that special kind of distinctive sonic harshness that we all associate with the empty calories we're about to ingest. But her voice was sweet. Unduly sweet for someone taking drive-thru orders. Should have been more stressed. But it was calm and proficient. Relaxing. I'd just spent the day on govt interceptor boats patrolling the Gulf and Rio grande for drug boats as part of a new documentary I'm making, so a little calm was welcome. It was near midnight. We pulled up and we met her. Her name was Erica. Super friendly. Well-spoken and cheery. Corporate America has all these buzzwords, many of which are just hype. But in Erica I did find the iteration of the idea of Brand Ambassador. She even wore her semi-wild orange Whataburger oufit with panache. I asked her how she liked working here. She loves it. She really believes in the place. She likes the fast pace of the work. And she's proud that it's a true-to-order joint... they don't put the burger on the grill until your order it, just so. It's a fast food joint, I guess, but it's a fast food joint that cares. And if the joint doesn't, then at least Erica certainly does. read more

I just left this location. 4/30/2019. This location is the worst. Place was not busy and they got my order wrong twice. The place is filthy dirty floors were sticky and there was trash everywhere. I would think that this would be a clean restaurant since it is in the entrance of Harlingen. I paid for my order and left not even worth getting the refund. Place is horrible. Harrison Whataburger In my opinion this place is running at 20% 8 out of 10 of my recent visits here have been bad ranging from distracted employees to incomplete orders. customer service and order accuracy needs to be greatly improved because no one wants to frequent a place where they can't get a simple burger,fries and drink order correct. Please post managers phone number so that the customers can tell him what the problems are so they can be addressed and corrected. I have had nothing but problems at this location and I have tried getting help locally but its no use. It started with one of the employees, I believe name is Andy Cortez, stalking me and finding out where I worked and calling to harass me at my job. I don't know any of these people who work there. I called manager Roxanne Mora that I was very upset and was going to press charges with local police. She said she didn't care and couldn't do much so then I asked for area manager and spoke to Jasmine Ramirez 956-457-2496 she said that harassing customers was not allowed and she would look into it and talk with employees at that location. It seems that nothing has been done. I have only gone back to this location a few times since this incident that occurred in April, due to not wanting to be harassed by the employees. At today's visit 5/18/19 they messed up my order twice on the second attempt of not getting the drinks I told guy at the window just give me another drink (something we didn't want) but I just wanted to leave and asked just give me my money back for the order as well. They called over the manager Mauro Gonzalez he looked new who knows he said very rudely well give us back the food and pull forward so we can give you your money. I have been in this exact situation before and manager just give you the money doesn't make a scene or ask for the food back which we waited 30 minutes at the drive thru for. I told him forget just give me whatever drinks and I will contact corporate.Today was the icing on the cake and I am done. read more

Whataburger is usually my favorite fast food. This one comes up short. Soggy fries, luke warm chicken that smells like old grease, cold toast, watered down tasteless gravy and an unfriendly guy at the drive thru made my experience here well below average. He asked if I wanted salt pepper and ketchup. I said pepper and ketchup and extra napkins. I got one pepper, barely enough for one bite of fries. I got one napkin and my "extra napkins" consisted of one more that was thrown in the bag like he was mad at it. I get my food open to eat and the gravy container was less than half full.
