I enjoyed the wood pidgin and the steak was just right. The decoration is pretty querky but I like it and the service is good. When I go though I often feel sorry for people who are at tables near the entrance as it's all rather cramped when people arrive. One of my visits was in a party of 12 so we booked a room upstairs and it was very cosy and quite novel.

It has fab views out to the beach and sea but to be honest thats about all it has going for it. Fish and chips were ok but nothing special I've had better fish and chip in Leeds miles and miles away from the sea. However my biggest gripe with this place was been rushed out of the shop by the waitress. She was very impatient and clearly wanted us to leave even though it wasn't even 5 a clock. If your going to gomake sure you go at lunch time or eat out then you wont be rushed.

The fish my partner assured me between mouth fulls was wonderful also! and the waiter was more than happy to provide the extra plate for my daughter and there was more than enough food for all three of us! My Dad ordered fish and chips, and said that the batter was way too fatty and greasy, and the chips were very under cooked. My sister has Goat's Cheese and said is was very nice. We ordered 2 milkshakes but were not able to get them as they had run out of milk, so this was very disappointing for me and my sister.

Actually, let me rephrase that...Latimers used to be a small family run fish business where you could only buy what was caught the night before but now it has expanded and you can buy a whole array of fish. Fishing just off the coast still takes place though - so don't be disheartened. You can ask which fish has been caught locally. Apart from the really friendly staff, who are extremely knowledgeable about all of their fish (including how to cook it, what would taste nice with it etc) the shop and cafe is laid out in a welcoming way. You can either buy your fish from the counter to take away or sit in and try one of their delicious platters....Look at my photo of the crab platter (which was 14 pound!!!). It was incredible. This place is an absolute must for all fish lovers.

It has a Cafe, but this is closed at the moment, what a shame! My Mother spent a small fortune and we all agreed that everything was lovely and fresh as well as tasty and impressive.
