I have no idea how they still have open spots, but Mom got one in the Oak Room, near a plant which I thought was great because she loves plants. Claude was able to do all the paperwork in half an hour and off we went. Mom and Dad didn't want to do any financing and wanted to pay cash. Here's a tip, bring your checkbook or actual cash, or else you'll be hit with a crazy processing fee of almost 4%, which would have equaled almost $500, just to use a credit card. Save yourself that fee by being prepared. If you need to make your arrangements, you can't do it online. They want you to come in and do the paperwork, but it doesn't take long.

I finally turned to Yelp to see what was posted about mortuaries I'd looked at when David from Honor Cremations popped up to say he thought he could help me. I truly felt an instant feeling of safety and trust. Sometimes we're lucky enough to get guidance. David is kind, sympathetic and morale. I spent the next several years feeling secure for when the time came. One of the few things I was able to feel secure about. When my husband did pass in the middle of the night in the veteran hospital hospice, they knew to call Honor. Because it might take time for Honor to arrive, the hospital wanted to take my husband to their mortuary and I refused saying we would wait for Honor. I trusted them and knew he'd be in good hands and those feelings were right. Her deliverance could have been way better especially knowing the sensitivity of the nature why we were all there. The explanation in a more empathetic way could have been presented way better as she knew what was happening because that is her specialty, not ours. She could have explained in a more sincere way. I was taught "It's not what we say, but how it comes across"! Please be mindful of how you present yourself and take into consideration what comes out of your mouth especially if a question is being asked for clarity. Rudeness is not becoming and not necessary especially to grieving family and friends.
