Reading off little letters, eye drops, struggling to keep your eyes open through the blinding lights, the whole "which is better - A or B" contraption - it is all something of a blur. All I know is following the battery of exams, the doctor, Dr. Weyer, concluded, I am in need of bi-focals. I just stared at him for a minute while I processed what that meant. When my witts returned to me, I queried, "you mean I need the same proper glasses my dear old grand dad sports?" I then spent an hour trying to find frames that I could learn to live with. I found a few options: Nautica, Burberry, and Calloway. As I was trying on one pair of squared thick black frames, one of the assistants said, "Those make you look like a professor." Dryly, I said, "I am a professor ... so ... these make me look normal then, do they?" I settled for a blue frame from their Nautica collection. They are not huge, but large enough to support a normal upper half as well as the Hubbleness of the lower bifocal half. So there we are - one week later and I just received my new proper glasses. I am getting used to them; when they are on, I feel as if I have a full face motorbike helmet on. Although this has been an unwelcome milestone along the aging process, the employees at the Vision Care Center were extremely friendly, helpful, and patient. Vanity aside, I can see, so I guess that is the most important thing.

Nominal wait time (less than 10min past appt time) before I was greeted by my optical technician, Janie. My history was reviewed and the preliminary assessments were performed. Janie performed hand hygiene prior to administering eye drops. (although this is standardized and should never be skipped, I always recognize and thank my care providers for adhering to hand hygiene practices!) Dr. Green was my optometrist today. He was pleasant, thorough and professional. He, too, performed hand washing prior to conducting the exam. Adequate time was given for my questions to be answered. My Rx had not changed, so of course there was no need for new glasses. I was provided a copy of my renewed eye prescription without having to ask for it. Absolutely no pressure to make a purchase of new frames/lenses - it was totally up to me. I plan to return to The Vision Care Center for my next annual exam.

Then I had a conflict with the second appointment so I had to reschedule it again. The third time I actually made the appointment but when I got there they told me that the doctor wouldn't see me because I had missed the two previous appointments. So I made an appointment with Ohio Valley Eye Institute and they setup my appointment right away. I've been told that Talley Eye Institute makes patients wait for hours. They're rude and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemies.

Was in exam room 30 minutes before saw doctor exam took exactly 3 minutes then the tech(angie) that helped get lenses couldn't do math gave me wrong price, then measured my eyes was with her 5 minutes total she was very rude . I wait a hour go back get my glasses I can't see out of them apparently measured wrong and that's why I couldn't see doctor wouldn't look at me again they finally said they redo lense come back in a hour so I come back in a hour get glasses still can't see so I'm out 6 hours and $213 and still don't have new glasses just ones I can't see out of but they compensate me a free year warranty on glasses I cant see out of!!! The Manager is clueless and I'm pretty sure did not tell the the doctor the issue, kinda funny how there weren't any side shields in the building until I wanted my money back and the the doctor called me. I bring in my prescription, select frames and lens options and provide insurance information. I am give a price that is to be my part after insurance. Two days later a very nervous individual stumbling all over themselves on the phone, calls saying I owe an additional $130 dollars, because they did math wrong. One would think a professional office, would have double checked calculations and assured everything was correct before collecting payment. By their own admission the fault was not mine and it wasn't my insurance, but it was clearly their own error. So now because of their employee's error I have to deal with the inconvenience of readjusting my schedule to pick up a refund or pay more for thier "mistake" This is all shady to me.
