I was really looking to pick up a pair of black RayBan Wayfarers. Being a kid of the 80's I lusted…read moreafter a pair of these for years. Finally, I decided to take the plunge and fork out a tiny fortune for a pair. I wanted sunglasses and I wanted pair I could actually see in which would mean I would need my prescription added to them. I couldn't find a local optometrist who could fit me in a pair of RayBan Wayfarers. Eventually, I decided to put my trust in LensCrafters. I had visited one once before when I was tasked with replacing a pair of crushed eye glasses after late night partying in Las Vegas. I stopped into LensCrafters with prescription and RayBan model number in hand. They immediately set me down and the process began to adorn my face with classic cool fashion. Within an hour I walked out with a pair of hot looking Wayfarer prescription sunglasses. After a few days my wife realized that I may have gotten the frames a size too small. OH NO! I thought all was lost. I was ready to throw my hands in the air and just rock tiny frames and look like a goof around town. However, I remembered the sales lady said I could return them if I did not like them. Whew.. I decided to pay LensCrafters a visit this time with tiny Wayfarers in hand. I explained to the sales person what happened and pointed out they were too small. I also did a bit of research on the inter webs and found there was a larger size Wayfarer frame available. Thank goodness I am not the only person in the world with a larger sized dome. The good souls of LensCrafters were able to order those larger frames and fit me. The staff was extremely helpful and pointed out the pros and cons of all the available options. Within a week I was rocking my new proper sized RayBan Wayfarers. Things were going great; and in the event my future got so bright I'd actually have shades... A pair of classy prescription RayBan Wayfarer shades!. Sweet!

I use to expect three things from LensCrafters. Speed, accuracy, and quality. Now that they have…read moreno employee to support their stores they speed is slow. I had to wait a week. What happened to an hour? Accuracy the took accurate measurement of my eyes relative to the frame for my stigmatism, they stopped that and I have headaches. I have went back for adjustments and the customer service is slow because again lack of employees. Quality is poor to my wife bough lens and they had bubbles. We bought the warranty and we were told after one replacement the lens would not be covered. If I wait a week now I expect perfect quality at this price and time. I will visit again in a few weeks if things are not changed I am moving on and telling my friends LensCrafters is not the same. If you are wondering why people do not shop their any more look at what you have changed and go back or listen and improve.

I chose to "drop in" Stanton Optical after making an online appointment 30 minuets before I wanted…read moreto be seen. I was seen almost immediately. Background: I recently saw my private optometrist for a checkup. The last two times I had glasses made at his office I couldn't see out of them, but I was unsure if my eyes had changed or what. This time, I took my prescription and went to Stanton and had my eyes checked again. (I didn't tell them that I had recently been checked and already had a prescription). The one the refractionist gave me was very different from the one the optometrist hassles given me. I had inexpensive glasses made with the new prescription. Amazing!!! The first glasses I've had in years that actually worked well for me! The only complaint I have...my glasses had to sent out to be made. I was told it would take 7-10 days, and they would call me. After 7 days I called and the automated thing said they were still in the t thelab. 7 days later I called, same thing. 7 days later(now 21 days out) I called and got the same thing. I went to the store to find out what was going on. My glasses were ready, and apparently had been ready for a couple of weeks. I live more than 50 miles from the store. Dropping by to check on progress should not have been necessary. Verdict: got appointment very quickly, very nice, helpful staff, excellent refraction, great glasses, reasonable price. Extremely poor communication.

I will NOT be back. I received my glasses and they were not useful to their purpose. Got a lot of…read moreflak from them when I asked for a refund. They would not honor their guarantee. STAY AWAY FROM THEM FOR YOUR OWN PIECE OF MIND.

I took my 90 years old mother to Visionworks in Paducah to get new glasses. We originally went…read morethere because they told us that they would accept my mother's insurance. Turns out the insurance only covered the exam and we ended up paying over $150 for the frame. In addition, my mother was upsold the anti-glare feature which turned out to be some sort of coating that actually caused everything to appear blurred. It wasn't worth it. It took several weeks to take delivery and several trips to Paducah - about a 50 mile trip one way. The frame broke within a month and, when we talked to Visionworks about replacing or repairing the glasses, they told us that that frame was no longer available and that we would have to choose a new frame. This meant another wait of several weeks plus more trips to Paducah. No warranty - no nothing. Finally, we went to the optometrist in Cadiz, Ky and they found a frame that fit my mother's lenses within a few minutes. So, my question is: "Why couldn't Visionworks do that?" The only answer I can think of is that Visionworks didn't want to fool with it and my elderly mother is just too much of a bother to them.

The man in the glasses shop on Saturday was *entirely* rude and condescending for absolutely no…read morereason. I don't understand why pupillary distance is not part of the prescription that the doctor gives you to begin with. Why is it something I have to ask someone else for? After my appointment, the lady who rang me up said I could ask the people in the optical shop to measure my pupillary distance before I left. So, I asked the man in the optical shop if he would measure my pupillary distance, and he said "Any optical shop can do that for you when you buy glasses." I replied that I would be ordering online, and he got instant huffy, telling me that "we usually charge extra for this, but WHATEVER" and he seemingly angrily scrounged the tool out of the drawer. He came over and measured, I handed him my prescription, he filled in PD on the form, and as he was handing it back said "good luck with *that* prescription online" as if I would have trouble getting it filled and I was stupid for trying. I didn't say anything, and left, but that man's terrible attitude has solidified that I will *never* get glasses in the optical shop there. If you can't be kind when I'm asking you to complete my prescription (don't know why we're holding it hostage to begin with) then I *know* you won't manage kindness when I'm telling you for the 1000th time that these overpriced glasses I don't even like still don't feel right. It's terrible customer service and just plain rudeness like that that made me leave my last eye doctor, and I'm not above leaving this eye doctor for the same reason. So I guess I've got some thinking to do over the next year... The exam seemed to go fine. I felt semi-heard when I expressed concerns about getting the same prescription again when I already can't see properly with it...but still walked out with a prescription that I feel is not accurate, and that causes me to squint to be able to see things clearly when they're 5 feet from my face because I was told either I needed to settle or I need to get a completely different kind of contact lens. So after wasting my insurance allotment plus another $200, I may get a second opinion elsewhere.

After spending over a thousand dollars on glasses that fit pretty good when I tried them on, they…read morestill don't fit. I have gone back at least 5 times. They just don't fit. I ordered another pair at that same time that fit fine. The service seems pretty okay, I guess, but no matter how many times I have had this one pair of glasses, they just don't fit. I will go somewhere else to buy another pair. I had high hopes, but it seems like no matter where you go for glasses or how much you spend, they're all made in China and they are cheap crap anymore. The way glasses places seem to work, not just here, feels like a massive scam. It's not the folk that work here, I guess, it's just the product they sell. I am not amused and I really don't know what to do....
