Got there 30 minutes before my appointment still had to wait 2 hours to see doctor after several walk ins went ahead of me! Was in exam room 30 minutes before saw doctor exam took exactly 3 minutes then the tech(angie) that helped get lenses couldn't do math gave me wrong price, then measured my eyes was with her 5 minutes total she was very rude . I wait a hour go back get my glasses I can't see out of them apparently measured wrong and that's why I couldn't see doctor wouldn't look at me again they finally said they redo lense come back in a hour so I come back in a hour get glasses still can't see so I'm out 6 hours and $213 and still don't have new glasses just ones I can't see out of but they compensate me a free year warranty on glasses I cant see out of!!! Have been to many different places in Evansville area to get exam and new glasses and these people are some of the very best. All were professional but very friendly and so helpful. Made my experience easy. Glasses so fast, in less than 2 hours on a Saturday afternoon. Got 2 pairs of bifocals (1 tinted) for less than $200 and that included the eye exam. I went in for new glasses and an exam on 11/29/2013. I was told they had to send out the lenses for grindining/coating elsewhere and it would be roughly 10 days, usually less. It's been 17 days and counting and I STILL don't have any glasses. I'm leaving town tonight and planned to have these glasses with me. The other two places I shopped at prior to coming here told me they could do it in less than an hour. There's so many places in Evansville that do glasses on the same day--I recommend trying one of them instead. read more

I was in the market for some new frames the other day and went literally all over town looking for the perfect frames for my big head and wasn't satisfied with any frames except for here at Eye Mart. They have a huge selection of the basics to designers and the best part are that the lenses are so inexpensive. Others wanted to charge me upto 120 for just the lenses on top of 215 dollar frames - way to ridic, especially for souther indiana. I am not trying to impress anyone in these woods for just under 500 dollars, no thank you. EM charged me just a mere 30 dollars..i was sold especially when i found the frames i liked as well. What an awful experience. Waited an hour for a 10 minute wham bam eye examination that I have absolutely no trust in. At the end of this, I was given a scribbled prescription that I couldn't even read. I had to demand that the clerk translate this into some kind of readable document. I can't comment on their glasses, but if they are using this examination for the glasses and if the quality of the glasses is anything like the quality of the examination, then my advice is to run (not walk) to someplace else. $60 and a good deal of time wasted. Gave me the wrong prescription lenses in my glasses, I also had to wait behind walk even when I had already made an appointment. The frame was ridiculously over priced, and now they won't replace the lenses for free even though they messed up my prescription in the first place. Terrible service. read more

We had a HORRIBLE experience. We walk in there's not really a lot of people. The service super slow. The receptionist doesn't have the manners to be a receptionist. She was rude and not helpful at all!! After waiting hours to get my eye exam they gonna charge me 150 for ONE pair of glasses and on top of that they also "forgot" to charge me for the eye exam and they acted all RETARDED like they didn't know what they were doing. At the door the sign said 45 for an eye exam and at the counter they wanted to charge me 65. This place is a joke. The employees aren't any help. I would NOT RECOMMEND this place . I'm writing this in your parking lot. I had an exam at your office over a month ago but couldn't afford to buy contacts at the time. Actually at my exam I only asked for contact lense exam but was given a eye glass exam and contact lense exam when I never asked for glasses, which is why I ended up not being able to afford contacts to take home. I did get a trial however and had been wanting to get glasses for awhile so I didn't make too much of a fuss about it. My problem is today when I go in, only wanting to get a box of contacts and pay for them and leave, when you guys already have my prescription, I sit for 25 min waiting. I finally called Walmart and asked if they had my prescription in stock. I don't see how it would be that hard to go grab a box of contacts and check someone out especially when you have people up at the front desk sitting. Yes, the store was busy, but come on, how long could it possibly take to grab a box of contacts and check someone out when you already know which kind of contacts they need and the prescription they need. So I'm giving my business to Walmart. I understand now why this store has so many bad reviews. The main receptionist isn't very friendly either. Do better, please. read more

They advertise glasses in about an hour, but I waited an hour after my check up , only for them to tell me that they would have to order my contacts. It is now two weeks later and still no contacts. I have called once and they forgot to order them and had my name wrong. It's a shame because the doctor is actually really good. I will never go back again. read more

It drives me crazy when I make an appointment, then have to wait behind the walk-in's! The employees are all very nice, and the prices are on par with the other chain eyeglass places, so I continue to go here. They are rude and impersonal. When we first walked in, my mom brought up that her insurance might cover her frames, instead of insisting on checking, the lady acted as if she was stupid and said, "well I don't know because I don't know what type of insurance you have." All she would have had to do was ask for the card and say let's see if they do. Then when it was my turn they couldn't find my file. Said I hadn't been back since 2015. I had been there in February. They didn't update my script in the system, so they had to find my file to hopefully see what it currently is. When they found it, it wasn't in there. She checked to see if was under my married or maiden. They went back to check and I had another file. We then waited over two hours. They eventually ran our insurance after an hour and a half of being there. Then we waited another 30 minutes to be called. They are awful. read more

I have previously had very positive experiences at Eye Mart, but not on this most recent occasion. I walked in to wait at the counter with two pairs of frames in my hand, planning to get them fitted with non-prescriptive lenses. I waited at the counter, and the couple who walked in behind me was helped - which was fine, because they already had an appointment. After they left to go to see another employee, I stood at the counter while the woman working behind it seemed to be straightening papers and attending to something in a back room. Finally, she approached me after a couple minutes, and as I addressed her with a greeting, I was cut off midway and she told me the words "you're being helped by her" and then immediately began talking to another group of people who had just walked in behind me. Confused, because I hadn't yet spoken to anyone even after standing there for a couple minutes and clearly looking for assistance, let alone a "her", and had no idea how the other woman could've known that since she hadn't even bothered to let me finish a sentence, I stood there for another minute or so, and no other employees ever approached me even after making eye contact. I finally just left the store since it seemed no one on staff was interested in my business. I realize that it said customers with appointments will be given priority, but no one even bothered to verify if I had an appointment or not. Very disappointed, and will probably give future business to another location or store altogether. It was a really bizarre experience, I have never felt so intentionally ignored. I thought it was clear that someone standing at the main counter of an eyewear store with glasses in her hand wanted assistance, but apparently not. read more

I spent over $400 dollars on two pair of glasses.They put the wrong prescription in both pair.I caught their mistake before I left so they fixed them,however,Fifteen months later one pair broke.Right between the lenses.The piece of metal over the nose.The manager wanted me to spend another $75 dollars to get them replaced.What ever happened to customer satisfaction? My prescription sunglasses frame broke and could not be repaired. I went to Wal-Mart and various other eye care businesses in Western Kentucky and no one could find frames that my lenses would fit in or they said they were unable to cut the lenses to fit the frames they had. In desperation, I went to Eye-Mart East in Evansville. Amanda immediately came to assist me,she helped me pick out frames,and the tech(sorry I didn't get his name)stated he was reasonably sure he could put the lenses in the frames for me. Due to difficulties with equipment that day, he was unable to complete the work until the next day. I've been wearing the same contact lens brand for over a decade, and usually go to a different eye doctor. I was in a hurry so ran into eye mart to get an exam and a few boxes of contacts. AFTER the exam was complete, I was told that the doctor would not authorize the prescription until I came back for an additional exam a week later. They sent me home with one pair of "Trial" lenses. They call this second appointment a "contact check". I call this a ripoff and a way for them to get two exams they can bill you or your insurance for. Never have I had to have two exams to get my contacts. I tried to call and explain it to the doctor that I've been wearing the same brand for years, and that they fit fine, but they wouldn't put the doctor on the phone with me and insisted I had to return for this second examination. Extremely inconvenient and frustrating. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more
