I lived in Westwind sober living for about a year. On the day of my arrival I was greeted with love, care, compassion, and respect. I immediately felt at home. The house was clean, the people were kind, and the rules and structure were JUST RIGHT. All of the house managers, techs, regional managers, upper management, and owners of the company are enthusiastic about sobriety being a way of life and helping others. Throughout my stay I felt supported and encouraged. I made lifelong friends here and couldn't have asked for a better experience. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this program! read more

I liked Westwind. I also relapsed and bad and immediately. It's not my fault. I'm the client. They were paid to rehabilitate me. Group settings. Therapy once a week. How is that going to cure a hard-core addict? The sober living homes were nice. Mangers were super cool. Best thing about Westwind is they gave me a home for 5 months. I just wish I got more personalized care and resolved some personal issues. I wasn't even able to save money. We were free to roam. I loved the freedom. It's Los Angeles people. Drug addicts don't need a lot of freedom there. I left with no plan Not a penny saved. Cool staff yes. But maybe cool is not always what recovery is all about. I wish they would of been more strict. And got on my ass about my bullshit. They never bothered me.....smh read more

This place is my home for sure. I have been drinking for 25 years and finally I have been relieved of my drinking issue. I was able to make lifelong friends here the therapist agreed some of the housing staff can be a little bit challenging, but other than that this is a great place to get sober. read more

Worst experience ever, housing treats you like a 5yr old and when me and my friend left, the housing supervisor anna was swearing and being super unprofessional to her staff and towards us. what makes it worse is that they give out infractions for no reason and when I was assaulted by one of the clients here I got an infraction for it then threatened to kick me to the curb. Westwind was good place to stay sober. However that was about it. Your biggest support system will ultimately be other clients you are housed with as that is who you will be spending all your time with. Despite many long stunts in their program and all that therapy we just couldn't figure out the root of the problem. They teach you that you are alcoholics/addicts and it is genetic. It turned out I just have really bad anxiety and sitting in their programs being treated like an addict prevented me from being prescribed what inevitably helped my anxiety and crushed the desire to use. Sitting in their programs without the proper meds actually in my eyes prevented me from making any progress in life. I remember Mikey telling me I wouldn't stop until I got in big trouble. Welp I stopped after I got on meds. How I spent over a year in their program and other programs and slid through the cracks is a mystery to me. I think it speaks to the effectiveness of these programs. I hope they pay closer attention to clients in the future especially those that keep coming back. I just can't believe the entire time I was self medicating a mental illness and no one could see until I left the recovery merry go round. read more

I have been to 10+ rehabs and Westwind Recovery is hands down the best treatment experience I've ever had. My first interaction was with Stephanie (Admissions Counselor). She saved my life. She facilitated my detox stay prior to going to Westwind and held my hand through each transition of treatment. Upon arriving at Westwind Recovery, the staff immediately embraced me for who I am and created a space where I could truly begin to heal. My therapist helped me get to the causes and conditions behind my using/drinking. The facilitators provided cutting edge psychoeducation and helped me to strengthen my 'sober tool kit'. The housing staff provided structure as well as unwavering love and support. Michael (Director of Alumni & Activities) taught me how to have fun WITHOUT drugs and alcohol by organizing unforgettable outings such as; boxing, yoga, camping, hiking, waterparks, movies, museums, kayaking, beach days and more. These outings taught me to take care of my physical body in addition to my mind and spirit. This facility and community has impacted me so profoundly that I sit here in tears of gratitude as I write this review. Today I have 73 days sober. Worst treatment place. Found out that they have been charging my insurance for a patient that is not myself for the past 2+ years. No one has contacted me back to address this malpractice and fraudulent offense. Also their "psychiatrist" while under his care back in 2021 prescribed me a medication I told him I was allergic to. I broke out in a massive reaction for a week and a half and they kept saying it was something else. I was in so much pain. When I told them I don't trust their psychiatrist and no longer want to work with him they still made me see him. I asked him why he would prescribe me something I told him I was allergic to and his response was that he "thought I was lying to avoid taking the medication". This place needs to be shut down for their insanely unethical practices. read more

Finding a suitable treatment center that accommodates both mental health and substance abuse is really difficult nowadays. I landed in westwind recovery about 5 months ago and quickly submerged myself into thinking that the center had my best interest in mind. They didn't, all they did was reaffirm I never want to end up in treatment ever again. Whether or not I need the help in the future. Westwind proved to me how greedy and uncaring the treatment world really is. Not matter how "legit" and "ethical" a treatment center might seem to be, there's always a bottom line and that is to make as much money as possible to keep the ship afloat. My experience here did nothing but damage my self worth and forced me to grit my teeth cause I had nowhere else to go. What you will receive when coming to westwind recovery is... - staff that are continuously fighting for their job and expressing their personal issues to a point where they can't help the clients they need to. - house managers who are not only unqualified to do their job. But are too lazy to work, disgruntled, abuse their power or just there for the free rent and not a very good example of what recovery is supposed to be. - there's a great deal of favoritism in what I feel has to do with individuals policy. The more your policy pays out the longer you get to stay. I've seen clients given chance after chance and others one and done. Clients who not only relapse or get loaded while in treatment but far worse, clients who destroy the groups morale are allowed to stay. Hence why every discharge has to go through admissions first. - I've witnessed people doing the right thing and get a 2 week notice once their policy runs out and be out on the street or dishcharge to another treatment center immediately. - if you don't spend time in upper managements office throughout the day you'll probably never get what you need. - their census is high and you'll hardly get anything from daytime groups. - upper management seriously needs a facelift. From grocery budget being $300 for houses that are occupied by up to 16 grown people. To not having the supplies we need to clean leaving the houses in disarray most of the time. - don't be fooled by the pictures on their website or their "php" house tour. These houses are constantly messy and there's nothing they'll do about it other than give clients an infraction. - start planning ahead because you'll be left out on the street with no resources once your time is up. - you will be manipulated into thinking that the people here actually care but I'm reality they're just trying to line their pockets. I gave 2 stars because most of the people here have the best of intentions from certain house managers to assistant housing director. Anywhere above and in between, I'm sorry you guys are only out for yourselves and don't mind running this as the business it is. Stop fooling yourselves into thinking you're helping people when in reality you're just killing them or making them sicker. I feel bad for the ones trying to do the right thing regardless of their status in the company. **edit** Just found out that they just put one of their house managers on the street. After giving them a 30 day notice and when that time was up and he asked for an extension they denied him and just put him out. Didn't even give him till the morning. read more

To start off, westwind provides your stereotypical flop house sober living environment, it's a safe haven for addicts and alcoholics using their health insurance for a vacation to California. They require absolutely nothing of you as long as you're making them money by attending IOP. Their staff is consistently changing from upper management all the way to the careless house managers with very small amounts of clean time so don't expect any sort of stability. Certain clients are clearly favorited over others in tough situations such as abundant relationships with other clients, relapsing together and many more which made me feel discriminated against and unsafe. Do yourself a favor and find a place that actually cares, one that isn't all about the money. Dave Bifulco from admissions is terribly greedy to the point that you would think that your rent check goes into his pocket. Dave will attempt to hustle you into flipping your pockets inside out and draining any and all financial resources you have to fork up every last cent for housing and if you can't satisfy the money monster inside of him he has no problem telling you to leave. DO NOT TRUST HIM. I truly wish I could say westwind provided me with something other than a place to be stuck in my own head. The doctor at westwind bills $3000 or so per visit for things that aren't even provided, and will also bill you for anything your insurance doesn't cover. I basically left westwind mentally messed up and now drowning in medical bills they promised I wouldn't be billed for. read more

Westwind is amazing.  The staff was incredible.  I'd never been through this before and had heard stories about horrible staff, but once I checked in, you could se that everybody there had a passion for what they do!  Their willingness to go above and beyond what they have to, to me, was astounding.  Everybody at Westwind loves what they do.  If it wasn't for that, I would have bailed a long time ago.  I would not have been able to make it a week, let alone 90 days!  And there always will be a special spot in my heart for the staff and I am forever grateful for Westwind Recovery.  They saved my Life. read more

I would give Westwind 0 stars if possible. But if I did, the owner would be able to take down my review (like he has already done) this treatment center kicked me out to the streets, left me with no resources including money or my phone. Didn't allow me to contact my loved ones before they did, and Ubered me to a nearby Starbucks. They didn't even Uber me to a safe place such as an airport or a hospital. They didn't assist me in finding another suitable treatment center either. I was having a mental health crisis, and they didn't even call 911 like I requested. They were cruel to me. I contracted a deadly brain infection once they did, (acute toxic encephalopathy) I subsequently contracted MRSA and a full-body septic reaction as a result. I spent 7 days at Cedars Sinai Hospital on life support and IV antibiotics but by the grace of God survived. My lawyer sent them a letter with the intent to sue. But I am still weighing my options. I think this program is a cattle call for addicts, where you are considered a number at the DMV. I don't believe they are saving lives, but instead profiting from vulnerable people's unfortunate circumstances. Beware. read more

There are so many places out there they're really just don't care about your recovery. But this place I know is very different because of the people involved in this project Isaac is by far the one person in this industry who I could say would die for his clients in cares more about other people than himself. He is the reason why places like this succeed I'm so happy that I've met him and I am beyond grateful that I've had the experience of having him guide guide me on the path of recovery. Without love, compassionate people like this it would be an empty room. The place is obviously only as good as the people who work in it it doesn't matter how shiny the outside is or if you get to pet a horse or they give you Valium. None of that stuff works the truth is love works honesty works and people helping people works I love my life today and it's a direct result of that man and I can honestly say that I would not be sober or happy without the kind heartedness, joking, funny, compassionate, eccentric person that he is in allowing me to finally find happiness without substances in Los Angeles and the rest of the world! read more

So far do good. My son's been at Westwind for 9 days. He's been in many treatment centers, some provide no feedback and don't respond with updates on family members. Jennifer and Oren have been responsive to my calls and texts. My understanding is they have a very qualified psychiatrist working with their team. I entered WestWind recovery housing after the Sober Living I was staying at was closed down due to poor management. In a moment of frustration and fear I felt like I had no options. When I informed WestWind of my situation they immediately told me I had nothing to worry about and that I had a place with them. I have lived in West Wind ever cents. I am a student working towards a PhD and WestWind has made great accommodations for me to achieve my education goals to my highest ability. West Wind has encouraged me too have a work life balance and join them on the mini fun and adventurous trips they take throughout the year. Most recently I went to heavenly ski resort with WestWind for a spiritual retreat that was the perfect stress reliever that I needed during a very intense semester of school. This balance of program, life and my education is all possible due to the love and care of the team at WestWind. I am forever grateful. read more
