Writing a review at 1:17am on a Thursday morning while I stay up keeping an eye on my 9 week old…read morepuppy is just one of the things I've learnt this evening is all part and parcel of being a responsible pet owner. Tonight when he presented with a few issues that aren't really kosher in a review (let's just say both ends, shall we?), I went into dog-owner overdrive and insisted a trip to the vet. Sure, maybe he had just over eaten and then again maybe it was the Parvo virus I've been told about multiple times since having a furball in my life. Packed up in the car we headed to the Animal Emergency Centre located in the Woolloongabba Greencross Vet. We were greeted by the senior nurse on duty, Natalie who explained the vet was currently about to head into surgery but would be with us as soon as he could. I later learnt he was doing an operation on a Border Collie who had been hit by a car earlier in the evening. He's doing a-okay for those playing at home. While we waited, Natalie did what she could checking his vital signs and testing for Parvo. We waited some more before finally seeing the vet, having the pup checked over and being advised our options. Although waiting in a vet foyer for almost 2 hours is never fun I cannot thank the team on duty this evening for their understanding, care and attention. Knowing there is an emergency care facility a short drive from home gives me a sense of great comfort and relief. And yep, the pup *touch wood* for now is fine. I guess I'm just of the opinion you can never be too careful.

I had plenty of run-ins with cane toad poisoning and paralysis ticks on my now in the ground beloved toy poodle in the past and still remember the care and treatment he was given when he was alive and this Animal Centre was the only place open. Without sounding too emotional and soppy, they save lives here. They are very dedicated to their job and caring as well (which helps). The vet I had here was really understanding and the information he provided me about my pet was invaluable. With your heart pumping, your emotions electric and your pet injured or sick, rest be assured this centre will do everything in their power to make sure everything is done to keep your little mate alive.

Dreadful experience that almost cost my dog his life and if the emergency animal ambulance personal had not of intervened that's exactly how it would have ended! I returned with my dog every day for 3 days post surgery and my concerns were completely ignored by this clinic! On day 3 I learned that they had overbooked surgeries with one of their staff on a day off. Because I had been so very concerned about his recovery and he wasn't going well I left him in their hands believing they specialised in his breed. Well, he had an emergency and had to be intubated. Then at our direction was to be transferred to the specialist vets but the vet hadn't even sedated the dog suitably for the trip. The ambulance staff had to argue with her on our dogs behalf! I've heard horror story after horror story since sharing our experience and even been bullied online by the clinic staff! Pretending not to be clinic staff but sharing my personal details with others !!!! Oh and they will say they don't have a record of me as a client well I'm happy to share the bills that say otherwise!!!! Never ever would I recommend this place.

People's pets are REALLY important to them, and it makes sense that those of us who are pet owners…read moreare pretty careful about who we take them to when they're sick. I've had many vets over the years, and I can vouch for the fact that some vets view pets as products while some vets view pets as important parts of peoples lives. No big surprises what camp the Alderley Enoggera Veterinary Practice falls into. From the moment I walked in there I felt at home, the clean and cheerful surgery is housed in the front of a renovated Queenslander with a pet access ramp at the front. My dog had put her back out chasing a ball (I didn't even know it was possible) and due to the potential dangers of paralysis ticks the vet gave her a thorough going over. The whole examination took almost an hour, and I must admit I was mentally calculating the bill at astronomical. Imagine my surprise when they only charged me $60 for the vet's time! The pain medication was also reasonably priced, and the vet also took care of a little cyst my dog had for free. The vet nurse then spent time with me talking about flea medication and she recommended one she uses for her 6 dogs which has been a great solution for us. I've since found out that other people I know have routinely driven their dogs across the city to this vet due to their level of care. I was lucky enough to move into the area which is how I found them, but now they're mine I'm never letting them go. If you love your animals then this is not only the vet for you but, more importantly, it's the vet for them.

Excellent vet. Paul is a very caring vet and will go out of his way to help whilst keeping the cost…read moredown. We are pedigree kitten and puppy breeders and have been using this particular vet for many years and have always found that Paul explains what is wrong with your animal in a down to earth way and offers several options for care. He doesn't believe in expensive unnecessary tests but of course will offer them if he believes they're needed. His vet nurse Monica is always helpful on the phone or in person. Initially Paul can seem a bit eccentric, but after getting to know him and visa versa he a warm and generous person. Being a breeder of pedigree kittens and puppies we need to have a great vet and Paul definitely fits the bill. THE BELOW IS NOT SO MUCH REVIEW BUT SOME INFO ON HIS CARING NATURE. We had used Paul for a few years but lost track of him when he closed and moved his practice from a nearby suburb. Luckily we came across him again a couple of years later when frantically trying to find a vet open on a Sunday, we had an extremely sickly 2 week old puppy. Even though he wasn't actually open he was there checking on the animals and amazingly answered the phone. Paul got us to come to the surgery straight away so he could attend to the sick puppy and he literally saved the puppies life, and he wasn't even supposed to be working.

I would strongly recommend this vet for your pets. We have a dog and we've taken him to other vets…read morebut I felt they've only just tried to make us buy the more expensive medicines or treatments. Here, however, I felt that the vet in charge, a nice man named Paul, really does care for each animal. He didn't try to get us to buy anything expensive but rather told us what was available and the cheaper brands he thought worked well. My cousin who also has a dog lives in Indooroopilly has made this her go to vet because she loves the attention. The office is not at all flashy and the consultation room is simplistic so you might not think much of it but the service is impeccable. When compared to other vets out there this one is quite affordable. The flea shot for our dog cost around $30 less than another vet we had originally gone to. What's also great about this place is that you can call Paul and he'll answer your questions (with patience) and give advice. He also follows up to make sure everything is fine, which is great for any doubts or uncertainties you may have. I think this is a great place that really looks out for your pets.

Having visited here a couple of times now I have found it is easy to get an appointment at the last…read moreminute which is important to me. The staff are very friendly and obviously passionate about what they do. My first visit was for my dog to be desexed. They were apart of a National Desexing Program (found online) and offered considerably cheaper prices for my dog to be desexed. This discount did not compromise the quality of care she received however, and I am so happy she healed quickly with detailed instructions from the patient nurse. I was able to call and ask questions during her recovery at no extra cost and every cost was explained. Overall, even though there may cheaper places around, I consider them to be one of the best in the area and I would definitely recommend them.

Instead of the usual cajoling and dragging while they put the brakes on, my dog is busting to get inside! Once in she is always warmly greeted like an old pal by the front staff -sometimes even given a little treat much to our delight! This veterinary practice feels so caring and inviting I'm sure any anxiety the owners or pets could possibly feel, disappears immediately. In the past I have bought a dog in after being mauled and although it was a very touch or go situation, in the expert care of Dr Meredith the difficult surgery was a success and my faithful boy made a full recovery. He was cared for expertly through out his whole life by Wilston Vet and they were marvellous and compassionate till the end. Happily my new pup is also under their expert care. I always feel I can be guided by them in any situation with any advice needed. I have recommended Wilston Vet to friends in the past who have remarked how much they like it there too. I write this review to help guide anyone who is looking for a beautiful practice with skilled veterinarians who will provide expert care for your pet when needed.

This was also reinforced a week later when I dropped past and the friendly staff provided me with some well needed answers and relief prior to picking up my puppy. I have since selected Wilston Vet as my vet for my puppy, Napoleon and have loved coming in for our check-ups and vaccinations.

In an ideal world pets would get sick in the business hours of their usual vet. Actually, ideally…read morethey'd never get sick at all. But Murphy is a bugger and you can bet your bottom dollar they're going to get sick on a Saturday afternoon when it's a visit to the after hours vet. Thankfully, Pet Emergency operates out of Queensland Vets at Stafford Heights and before midnight charge a lower fee for after hour consults. The pooch and I were seen to relatively promptly for what was a busy weekend of consults and injured animal drop offs for the clinic. The vet that saw to us was warm and friendly. There was no hard sell for product -- just honest advice and diagnosis. These guys are firmly in the pet black book. You hope you never need to call upon them but you're thankful they're there if needed.

Very pricey place for a bunch of vets who stand around doing testing all day. The point of taking…read moretests is to find the problem and rule out what could be. Unfortunately the vets here are not about the doing all they can for your pet but rather what they can do as a business. They will go the latter because it's, and I quote, "worthless" as our dog's doctor, Phillip Thomas, so nonchalantly expressed in a conclusion meeting about our beloved dog, Bentley, who passed away. We still do not know what the cause of her death was and we have no answers. However, we did manage to be invoiced a nice hefty bill. Their staff are not properly trained and don't have very good phone manner especially when communication is their way of conveying the updates of your pets conditions. Not to mention the staff there know absolutely nothing and never have an answer and aren't to enthusiastic in finding out. A loss is a loss, pets are no less worthy than a human life and animals become a part of peoples lives and journeys. This clinic is insufficient in their work, their research and their communication. If you do take your pet here - don't believe everything they tell you and get a second opinion.
