People's pets are REALLY important to them, and it makes sense that those of us who are pet owners are pretty careful about who we take them to when they're sick. I've had many vets over the years, and I can vouch for the fact that some vets view pets as products while some vets view pets as important parts of peoples lives.
No big surprises what camp the Alderley Enoggera Veterinary Practice falls into. From the moment I walked in there I felt at home, the clean and cheerful surgery is housed in the front of a renovated Queenslander with a pet access ramp at the front.
My dog had put her back out chasing a ball (I didn't even know it was possible) and due to the potential dangers of paralysis ticks the vet gave her a thorough going over. The whole examination took almost an hour, and I must admit I was mentally calculating the bill at astronomical. Imagine my surprise when they only charged me $60 for the vet's time! The pain medication was also reasonably priced, and the vet also took care of a little cyst my dog had for free.
The vet nurse then spent time with me talking about flea medication and she recommended one she uses for her 6 dogs which has been a great solution for us.
I've since found out that other people I know have routinely driven their dogs across the city to this vet due to their level of care. I was lucky enough to move into the area which is how I found them, but now they're mine I'm never letting them go. If you love your animals then this is not only the vet for you but, more importantly, it's the vet for them. read more
