They don't have supervised care at night if our dog is sick but they worked well between looking after our dog in the day, and letting us take him to the hospital at night. He had a great room mate, lots of attention and the facilities and set up look amazing. We had no trouble leaving him there, as we knew he was in good hands. I get a bit funny about putting the furry woofy child in a kennel when we go away on holidays and I…read moredid a LOT of research before settling with these guys. My research included driving out and having a look around at the kennel (these guys will happily show you around - tick) asking other friends who have had their dogs and cats stay and the final tick for me was when I asked my vet where he put his dogs. Yep. All roads pointed back to the Samford Pet Resort. They aren't cheap but the place is clean, with lots of staff and our doggy has always come back, happy, healthy and WASHED! I like that three is the option to get reports emailed to you, plus you can pay for extra walks and play time. The report card at the end of your pets holiday (always glowing for our pup of course) also says that each animal gets attention. They always book fast for holiday periods so plan ahead if you can.

I can't resist going into a pet shop to gaze at all the adorable little puppies, so I was panic…read moremomentarily gripped me when I went inside this one and couldn't find any. Have you ever been into a pet shop that didn't have puppies? Or at least kittens? It's like an ice cream shop with no chocolate, or a sushi place with no salmon. Luckily I soon located them and realised they had simply been hidden behind the Christmassy white spray all over the front windows. This isn't a very big pet shop, but it's adequate. They have a limited range of animals including guinea pigs and fish along with the requisite puppies, pet food and of course accessories. It's not the most exciting of its genre, but it gets the job done.

This is a nice little pet shop located within a very busy shopping mall. It's not very big but it…read morehas plenty to offer. The times I have been here I've seen puppies, little kittens, guinea pigs and an array of beautiful fish. The puppies, kittens and guinea pigs are located towards the front of the shop and the fishies are towards the back wall. The little pups are the front window cannot be seen by passer by's unless you walk into the store. I think this is a good idea as it might be stressful for the little guys to see lots of people coming up to them. However, having a front view of a paper plastered window does not make this store look appealing. They should consider replacing that. All in all though, the pups don't seem to be bothered and look happy and healthy. One thing I noticed here that I didn't approve of, was all the little children poking the pets and the shop minder didn't seem phased by it at all. I know parents have a responsibility over their children, but I should hope the pet shop staff would protect the pets from children who are stressing them out. Still, despite this, it is a nice little pet store with quite a lot on offer. Good range in toys and pet accessories.

Yes, I'd rather see the little furry angels running around peeing on trees in a park than cooped up inside a Westfield as a window display - but I'm consoled by the fact that they seem to all get purchased quickly. So hopefully they end up living happy lives, running around various Brisbane backyards with devoted humans. There are other pets here too. Just follow the squawks and chirrups to the back of the shop, and you'll see the budgies, parakeets and other feathered friends. There's guinea pigs, fish and (bleurgh) rats too. And the accessories are to die for. Whether it's a pink fluffy scatching pole for your lady cat; soft, cosy beds for your furry friends to lay their weary heads down on; special shampoos; squeaky toys - it's all here. Just before Christmas they even had Xmas stockings filled with little toys and treats for your animal companions and even rawhide Xmas candy canes for your dog to get his teeth into (so he doesn't feel left out while you're all chowing down on ham, turkey and Christmas pudding). Awwww.

Stay away!!!!!! I…read morestrongly advise pet owners to read multiple reviews and do thorough research before bringing their animals to this clinic. Based on my experience, I believe this vet prioritises profit over proper diagnosis and animal care. I took my dog in for a concerning lump, expecting a thorough examination. To my shock, no physical examination of the wound was performed, the vet did not palpate, clean, or treat the area. The only test done was an X-ray, supposedly to check for possible spread of said "cancer." I was told, based purely on visual observation, that my dog likely had either Hemangiosarcoma (a type of blood or skin cancer) or a Mast Cell Tumor, both serious and terrifying possibilities. However, cancer in dogs cannot be definitively diagnosed just by looking. A proper diagnosis requires diagnostic testing such as aspiration, biopsy, or cytology, none of which were offered or performed, Before the vet told me this is what my dog had!!!! Despite the lack of appropriate testing or examination, I was pushed toward expensive next steps, which felt more like a sales pitch than a treatment plan. The approach left me deeply concerned about the clinic's priorities and standards of care. Due to these concerns, I have reported the incident to the Veterinary Surgeons Board of Queensland & office of fair trading for review, citing neglect of basic veterinary practice and failure to provide a standard level of care. Please be cautious and seek a second opinion if you have any doubts. Our pets deserve better!!!!!! They will obviously try hard to defend themselves.

In an ideal world pets would get sick in the business hours of their usual vet. Actually, ideally…read morethey'd never get sick at all. But Murphy is a bugger and you can bet your bottom dollar they're going to get sick on a Saturday afternoon when it's a visit to the after hours vet. Thankfully, Pet Emergency operates out of Queensland Vets at Stafford Heights and before midnight charge a lower fee for after hour consults. The pooch and I were seen to relatively promptly for what was a busy weekend of consults and injured animal drop offs for the clinic. The vet that saw to us was warm and friendly. There was no hard sell for product -- just honest advice and diagnosis. These guys are firmly in the pet black book. You hope you never need to call upon them but you're thankful they're there if needed.

Very pricey place for a bunch of vets who stand around doing testing all day. The point of taking…read moretests is to find the problem and rule out what could be. Unfortunately the vets here are not about the doing all they can for your pet but rather what they can do as a business. They will go the latter because it's, and I quote, "worthless" as our dog's doctor, Phillip Thomas, so nonchalantly expressed in a conclusion meeting about our beloved dog, Bentley, who passed away. We still do not know what the cause of her death was and we have no answers. However, we did manage to be invoiced a nice hefty bill. Their staff are not properly trained and don't have very good phone manner especially when communication is their way of conveying the updates of your pets conditions. Not to mention the staff there know absolutely nothing and never have an answer and aren't to enthusiastic in finding out. A loss is a loss, pets are no less worthy than a human life and animals become a part of peoples lives and journeys. This clinic is insufficient in their work, their research and their communication. If you do take your pet here - don't believe everything they tell you and get a second opinion.

Finding Paddington Pups was the result of a google search and a telephone call where a pleasant young man on the other end told me, "If you can bring him in this morning we can see him." I'd been searching for a new groomer for our pampered pooch after a less than desirable cut just before Winter. All I wanted this visit was a general tidy up, wash and dry (his visits to the salon sound all too much like mine!). Paddington Pups were able to see Dutch that day and it worked out cheaper than our usual salon. Cheaper doesn't always equal better but upon being reunited with my pup a few hours later it sure was in this case. The groomer had heard everything I said and trimmed his face without making him look like a dog without any facial hair. His feet were tidied and there was no great length taken off the rest of his coat. And while I'm yet to make use of it, they also have doggy-day care on site as well as a small range of pet food and toys.
