My husband and I went in trying to get help for our lawn we were not impressed at all. Horrible customer service. We walked in and as soon as we did we were greeted with we close in 10 min. We said ok no problem we just have a few question. We are trying to grow our lawn and we've tried everything do you have advice. And the guy said yah water your grass. Will not be coming back. read more

I made the mistake of purchasing trees from Westurf Nursery before reading the return policy. Basically, there are no returns. My three 15 gallon trees died within the first two weeks of planting. When I called about returning them with a receipt, I was told that "returns are only taken within the first 10 days of purchasing, the tree must not have been planted, and it must be resalable". My family and I will not be back. read more

I wanted to extend a huge "Thank You!' to Westurf for helping us with our mulch project. I came in early on a Tuesday morning and received excellent help from the gal running the front store. She helped me in estimating quantity and then the crew worked hard to get it delivered that same day by noon! The staff was friendly, thoughtful and so knowledgeable! The delivery driver was early, very courteous and answered my questions like a pro. The black mulch is a deep, dark color and easy to work with. I am so pleased with my experience at Westurf, it made my day! And our landscaping looks refreshed and beautiful thanks to you all! Thanks so much, I'm sure I'll be back! read more

Great selection of plants with some of the worst costumer service that I've ever experienced. Not a smile nor a pleasant word from any employee that I encountered over three visits to the site. No smiles and no one wanting to offer help. They are apparently great with plants but lack even minimal people skills. Bummer of a place. read more

This place really needs to work on customer service!!!!!! Both cashiers were so fixed on a phone call they couldn't even lift their heads to say 'hello'.... or 'just a moment'. Super rude. read more

There are two old ladies that work there who are totally inept and have no clue about customer service rude all the time. Also they do not guarantee any purchase you buy it then it dies it is your fault. Terrible business practices in today's market. Young people beware they are out to take your money and nothing else. Do not buy anything from them. read more

My fiancé and I wanted to see about renting out a variety of trees and arrangements of plants and flowers for our wedding reception which would be in a barn setting. At first the service seemed impressive from what we experienced at other nurserys. The employee was friendly and experienced. She walked us around taking notes and given suggestions for about 40 min. We left thrilled and excited. Then we got no call for the quote, we followed up and was given the run around on the phone for 20 min. Then told the owner and manager would call us because the could find no record and could not give us another quote for some time. We where willing to spend a lot for the delivery and arrangement however they dropped the ball and I would never recommend them. It cause some time wasted and stress, I would suggest going to different nursery. read more

It would have been very helpful to know how to plant the tree properly prior to purchasing. It would have also been helpful to know that there isn't a warranty on trees that are purchased here. The associate we originally purchased the tree with didn't know anything about the trees that are sold here nor did she give us any planting advice. I highly recommend not purchasing trees, shrubs or bushes from here as they wont honor any exchanges. Off to a big box retailer that will accept returns and exchanges. Out of $150+ dollars for lack of communication and experience. Try to support a locally owned and operated store and got the shaft. Won't be back. Just purchased the same tree from Home Depot for $59.98. More and 50% off in savings. Plus if the tree dies we can return or exchange it for free. read more

My better half went here to have his chainsaw repaired. After picking it up he proceeded to use it when immediately the CHAIN FLEW OFF, due to a bolt not being tightened. REALLY??? To me, this is extremely careless!!!!!!. My better half could have been seriously injured, or killed. By the way, he is a farmer and has used chainsaws all his life. He took it back and told them. They didn't seem too worried or concerned. REALLY??? They replaced the bolt. Hopefully being more conscientious than before. He is looking for a new place to take his chainsaw, needless to say..... read more

Bought a "Strawberry tree" a while back. $90, which is more than I usually pay for my plants, but I thought I'd spend it to get a good tree. The tree died within 4 weeks. When I took it back, they wouldn't refund or even exchange. Why? Because I didn't buy a bag of Kellogg's soil to go with the tree. Store policy says without buying their fertilizer, no refunds. Glad they told me AFTER I bought the tree and AFTER it died. Haven't been back and plan to never return. read more

My first time here. They have a varied selection of fruit & nut trees. Bought 8 bareroot trees from them yesterday, and was very impressed with the stalk caliper size, and size of roots. I'm looking forward to growing the little orchard I've long desired. Friendly & helpful staff! Thanks Westurf! : ) read more

I have been to this nursery numerous times to buy plants for my kokedama shop. All of the plants I've gotten here are healthy and fairly priced , especially for the quality. The staff is always helpful and knowledgeable. read more

First time here, looked like a great selection so we bought quite a few plants, tomatoes to a 5 gallon barberry. Got home and found snails in three of the plants and a month later the barberry is dead. They have no return policy, even on big expensive plants. Don't think I'll go back, too many nurseries to choose from. read more

Went to West Turf several times, wanting to buy a granite table for the yard. Left several messages for them to call me. Never got a return call. I left cell, home and Email. You would think a $3,000.00 (seats not included) table for the yard, someone would be interested. while there bought several plants, one dies immediately, brought it back for a replacement, not a refund. No go said sales girl, I didn't have the receipt. I tried to explain to her that I hadn't even received the bill yet which was on my credit card. In the future, I will be buying my plants elsewhere. read more

Nothing good to say except the selection was plentiful. The ONLY pleasant person I encountered was the nice gentleman that loaded the two large box woods I purchased. The two box woods we purchased 3 months ago are quite large and were quite expensive. Both of them were cared for exactly the same and are in the same exact location. One is plush and green, the other had a dry patch on it within a few days of bringing it home. I was concerned, but thought I would hold off to see if the tree would bounce back. The dry patch very, very, very slowly, increased, but was still green in all other areas. When the heatwave hit this valley, the poor thing couldn't take it anymore and appears to have died completely within a weeks time. I called Westurf and spoke with four different employees. Each time I was transferred, I was asked the same questions and had to repeat the story each time. After speaking with the fourth person I offered to send photos of the box woods over. I was told to send them via email to the attention of Elaina and I would get a phone call from her. A day later and I still have not heard back, so I called Westurf, only to get yet another employee. I had to repeat the entire story again, only to be told "too bad, so sad, you didn't buy our soil amendment". Throughout our conversation he was curt and sarcastic. At first he tried telling me I left the trees in buckets and they have to put in the ground right away, well he assumption right out of the gate, when the reality is the trees came in wooden planter boxes, not buckets. Therefore the tree's are still in the soil they were purchased in. If you go to the nursery, the same tree's we looked at 3 months ago are also in wooden planter boxes. And this is the same soil they the trees came in. So far I have not heard back from the owner, Elaina. We'll see how this plays out. At this end of the day, this is a lesson learned. NO MORE SHOPPING at WESTURF NURSERY, rude, rude, RUDE!! read more

Bad customer service ! agree with other reviews they cater to certain people. Never told me after 2 visits and $300 later that I needed to purchase soil to honor return not that I intended on returning but it happens. so I had to get a store credit not happy because I don;t want to go here again only to get my credit . BAD SERVICE! read more

Such a good business! Well done~ I wish I could give them six stars! Always attentive and free with good advice! Recently I had a very old can "valuable' house plant that was ailing. I took it in and had the attention of three employees, who showed great expertise. Alice personally took us around and helped us choose a few products to help our plant, and it is now thriving! We are so happy! Thank you! read more

I called to find out about a tree they we're supposed to have they call me back two days later told me they had it so two days later I drove two hours to come pick up a couple of trees and they're closed for inventory they told me I could come back tomorrow and they would give me a 20% discount for driving eight hours total to pick up a few trees who closes for inventory in the peek of barefoot season read more

I would give zero stars if it were possible. My husband and I were redoing our back yard and went to westurf nursey because they sell sod for a good price. The cashier was very nice and sounded like she knew what she was doing. We paid $60 for sod to be delivered on our dive way at 1:00 the following day. So on the following day it's 1:00 and we wait until 2:00 and no sod. So we call the nursery and ask what's taking so long. The lady on the phone said it should be there any minute. So we wait another hour and still no sod. So I call and then the lady says there was a problem with the truck and they were going to load another truck up and send it right away. We wait another hour and no one is at our house. We call again and the lady says oh they just left do you still want it? We said yes and then finally at 5:00 they show up! Four hours late and only 2 hours left of daylight to lay the sod. We start laying the sod and as we lay it we count the rolls of sod. We paid for 73 rolls. There were only 63 rolls there! It was too late to call and tell them they shorted us because they had already closed. I call the next morning right away and the manager talked to me as if there were no way they could have shorted us. And then said I'd have to go pick it up if I wanted it. Which was absurd because my husband and I both work until 5 so we couldn't get it and we had paid $60 for delivery. And they certainly did NOT deliver. Worst experience ever!!! read more

My new favorite nursery. Great customer service. What an amazing selection!! They have everything I would need for my garden and more!!

Took my honda HRX217 their for repair. A new transmission was installed. After a day of use the transmission leaked. Called Mark up and he had me bring it right back and he ordered another transmission from Honda and got the mower back to me in perfect working order. This time the bill was zero and they took the time to explain to me how to maintain the mower. Thanks to Mark and the team for the good job read more

We have been working on our back yard for a couple of weeks and West Turf has been amazing on the service and availability of what we needed for our back yard. If they don't have it or we needed more they will bring it in asap, They are very knowledgeable and so very very helpful with ideas. They will be totally honest if it will work well or not. We cannot say enough good about West Turf. Our yard is amazing. Can't THANK YOU ENOUGH West Turf!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

When I purchased some fruit trees from this nursery they were very helpful but after some of the trees started dying I was told too bad. They refused to help me and would not give me any advice. After a dispute with another business regarding my lawnmower, the manufacturer told me to take it to west turf for a second opinion. I really wish I would have come here first. The difference in service was night and day! Mark was very kind, patient, understanding, and politely informed on somethings I overlooked. Without hesitation, he offered to quickly look at mower, diagnose it, and fix it for free because of the headaches I went through with the other business. I brought the mower to him and he fixed it in minutes! Everyone there was extremely helpful and professional. My grandfather and I both agreed that we do not mind driving a little further to shop here in the future. Thank you very much! read more

My husband and I have a small lawn care business and we typically go to Westurf for all of our gardening needs, tools, whatever... We go there. I recently went there and bought about $30 worth of plants and bought their potting soil that they always recommend. They tell you that you have to buy their potting soil to guarantee their plants. ( Don't!! It's a scam) They just make more money off of you. So that day I went home planted the plants according the the labels watered them properly and they all died within 2-3 weeks. So I called and spoke to someone who works there and they passed on the message to the owner and said she would be calling me. What a waste of time that was. She called me back and accused me of over watering my plants and not properly planting them. She went on to say she has plants from there and so do her employees and they never have had a problem. I simply asked her can I get them replaced and she said no. It was my fault because I over watered them and something must be wrong with the soil. I said how can that be if it's your potting soil. She didn't have an answer to that. Then she went on to tell me that since we own a lawn care business that we should know what to do with plants and how to take care of them and how to properly plant them and water them. And that we get a small discount so there for there are no refunds, replacements, or exchanges. Then just as we were ending our conversation she made the remark that maybe it was the hail that killed them all. So needless to say I will be taking my business else where. So I went to Home Depot and bought better plants and cheaper plants. They have lasted me a lot longer than plants I have bought from Westurf. Don't buy the soil.. your plants are not guaranteed no more what!! read more

I have to say to jay J. the problem with your comment of "purchase at your own risk" is that it is the 1st problem you had ever had. I shop there all the the time and yes, sometimes i have problems with the plants, but that's not saying that its Westurf fault, they are the middle man of the whole line in the process. Have you ever had a recipe go bad? well if so did you blame the grocery store that sold you the food or Betty Crocker that gave you the recipe ? Give me a brake, the nursery business is not the best, look Hisher went out and so did Scenic, talk about throwing a bone!!!!! come on its an independent owned business that cant soak up all the money of the boxed stores. I say support the independent stores because before to long we will not have any local people to talk to. Bet not much help at home depot..... but they will replace plants cause they can.... I love Westurf because they have what i want, and if they don't they will try to get it. They also have said that they buy plants for this area so they will do well here. I think that no matter where we shop or work, there is always going to be issues, and that is just life, if everything were peaches we would have nothing to bitch about. So to people in general "take it as it is" I love Westurf read more
