I attended a small festival at this venue recently, which also happened to coincide with the hottest weekend of the year. Though it was challenging to dance beneath the powerful sun (I sat in the shade) - I still had a lovely time. The Saturday sunset was absolutely breathtaking. The Westside Pavilion in Tuolumne, CA, is owned by the Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuolumne_Band_of_Me-Wuk_Indians . In the past number of years the Westside Pavilion has hosted an array of shows including Snoop Dog, Pat Benator, Peter Frampton, Smokey Robinson etc. As a venue - Westside Pavilion is solid. There is lawn seating. There is free parking (though it does get busy for big concert events.) There is plenty of room to move around. There is grass to lounge on. The sound is on point. And throughout the recent festival that I attended, the trailer style bathrooms were easily accessible, well-maintained, and air conditioned. Once the sun sets and the stars illuminate the sky, Western Pavilion is quite magical, but as a daytime summer venue, it can get uncomfortably hot. I recommend coming prepared. The festival I attended was well organized, but mother nature's heat is definitely something to consider. For a cooler time - be sure to bring a hat, a fan, drink plenty of water (the colder the better), and pace yourself. Despite the strong sun that attended in full force at my recent visit to Westside Pavilion- I am thankful that I got to experience this venue first hand. Pros: Beautiful setting in the Sierra foothills. Feels like your at a concert in a large Meadow/camp site. Cons: Bring cash, ATM's are very slow. Exit strategy to clear out parking lot was horrible. Traffic became dead locked for about 45 minutes after the concert. Tempers started to flare, parking lot attendants didn't seem to be concerned about clearing up the traffic. read more

We attended the Bad Company concert here and enjoyed it very much. It's a little smaller venue than Ironstone but reminds me of it. There was plenty of space to throw out a blanket and chairs. Lots of clean restrooms, and easy shuttle pickup. Somehow we ended up leaving out the VIP line as we went over along the right side near the stage to get a closer look. It turned out we got out of there super fast. Sort of a hassle bringing chairs through the casino from the parking lot though and we didn't gamble as we had the chairs in our hands. I suggest a spot to hold chairs for concert goers. Other than that a great time. They sounded awesome! read more

Smokey Robinson was a bucket list show! What a great performer to see live at such a beautiful outdoor venue. Comedian Tom Papa opened and was just the icing on the cake! The Westside property is a gem of a place hidden in the foothills of gold country. Wouldn't pass up an opportunity to come back for anything. Plus they have Indian tacos & beer. read more

I attended the Justin Moore concert on Memorial Day weekend. After driving for hours I was so excited to finally see Justin Moore. As Justin Moore was singing his second song a security guard on a power trip told me I needed to exit where I was and tried to grabbed me by the arm. He told me very rudely I needed a wristband. I tried showing my ticket he refused to look at it. Waited in line for a wristband and I was told my ticket doesn't require one. Wow!!' Go back to same guards where the entrance is and they refuse to help me. Apparently I needed to go through the lawn and ALL the people sitting on there. For some reason the guards said it's "not their job" to tell me where to go, I guess just to kick me out right? AND Where I was Standing before was right where I was supposed to be!!!! The kicker??? As I was leaving, waiting in line for the shuttle one of those guards was waving, smiling and then yelled "do you have a problem"I told him I couldn't believe the way they treated me and he told me it didn't matter. He was right, I emailed the venue and they could careless. I wasted over $300 on concert tickets to get treated like I did something wrong. Will never waste my money with Black Oak casino again read more

I've been to 3 concerts here so far and it a great venue. Tickets are reasonably priced and they have great food options and drinks as well. You can pay for general admission and bring low back seats. It's a very great outdoor venue. It is less than a mile away from Black oak casino do you can shuttle to the venue and avoid the parking. Afterwards we gambled and had more drinks at the casino. Definitely recommend! read more

Westside Pavilion - Music Venues Near Me - Tuolumne, California

When we first arrived, I was pretty impressed. The lawn seats were inexpensive and yet still decently close to the stage. Food vendors were fairly priced, there were a ton of outhouses and they were CLEAN! My only complaint about the venue was the event staff. None of them had the balls to move people out of the walkways, where they were congregating in front of all of us who were sitting on the lawn WAY before they even arrived. They made some half assed efforts to move people through, but when they ignored them, they gave up. They need some more assertive staff! We ended up getting way too irritated and left early. Beautiful surounded theatre in beautiful Tuolumne, and great sound, also great screens for viewing artists. The reason I am giving three stars is because of the staffs rude and overall unfriendliness. Security is also rude and unfriendly. Midland was a great group to see here. Will return again. Just won't be talking to any of the staff now that I have been here once and know what and where things operate! Customer service should still exist!!! read more

Came for the Bush and Live concert last Friday night. It was easy to find our seats, the beer garden area staff was awesome, there were a ton of food vendors (we didn't eat while there because we ate at the buffet at the Casino before coming, so I can't comment on the food quality; but it smelled and looked really good). It's your standard outdoor area and there are sectioned areas. We has seats and thought it was a really good show and place. It was pretty far for us to drive so I rather stay closer to home, but if the right band played, I would go back. Parking is terrible to get out of, but that's at all shows these days. read more

Attended our first concert on September 4th 2018 (Collective Soul and Three Doors Down) General Admission was $40 per person. Getting there is easy- the road signs are easy to see and provided good directions. Plenty of free parking. The parking lot is covered with wood chips to help reduce dust. Getting through the gates was easy (we got there about 20 minutes after gates opened). Our bags or pockets on lawn chairs were searched which is fine and to be expected. Staff that we interacted with were polite and efficient. There were a number of vendors there selling food. I got a wood fired pizza ($14) that was the size of probably a medium pizza at a regular place. It was yummy and I was very happy with it. Hubby got BBQ ribs that he LOVED and had so much leftover. They were a bit pricey but he didn't mind at all. There was also ice cream, Indian tacos, southern comfort food, burgers and hot dogs. If you're drinking alcohol you need a wrist band (free- they just ensure you are 21). They offered beer, wine, local cider and some mixed beverages. Lots of porta potties that we're being constantly cleaned. Lots of hand washing stations. The sound was good and we could hear the performances clearly. Ok...now for the two negatives. The show started late (about 30 mins) The seating is awful. The whole area is on flat ground so there are bad spots to sit where you can't see either because you're so far away or because there is a walkway in front of you. Staff tried to enforce the "no standing" rule, but a lot of people had a hard time with it because...well...it's a rock concert and they want to rock! If I could recommend anything to the planners, it would be create hill...or build more of an amphitheater type setting so we all have better views. We are excited to have another venue close to home rather than having to drive to Sacramento or the Bay Area....but I would really hope that the seating situation can be improved. I don't want to pay $130 just to be close enough to see. read more

I had such an amazing time at the Westside Pavilion watching 3 Doors Down and Collective Soul. Since I was VIP I was able to go to a secluded area designated for only VIP guests. In the VIP area there were very clean bathrooms and super short lines to grab food and drinks! All the staff members were very helpful and caring. The show was absolutely amazing! There was a short intermission between Collective Soul and 3DD, which was perfect timing to grab another drink. Over all, I would recommend any one to Westside Pavilion! A super cool and fun environment for a fantastic show. read more

Saw Justin Moore and Cam back in May when the venue first opened. Super stoked to have a headliner country artist up here in Sonora. The show was awesome, food options amazing-i opted for a giant Mi-wuk Indian taco for $10 and a couple of beers. Tried my husbands Rockin Barb-B Texas style ribs and they were delicious. Parking is free and a short walk to the entrance. We went VIP for the easy access bars, cool outdoor lounge area, VIP bathroom trailers, seats of course, and an up close experience. They were RIGHT in front of us. Cam Well worth it. I'll be back for sure. Especially if there's more country! read more

I really wanted to like this venue. It was in a nice area with great views. I drove a couple hours from Sacramento to check out this venue. I was highly disappointed and will never make a return. I took my nephew as he was a big Snoop Dogg fan. First, I decided to bring two regular size camping chairs. The chairs were .5 inches too tall. They literally had rulers and checking everyone's chairs sizes. The chairs had to be 32 inches or smaller. Mine were 32.5 inches. Seriously? I can see if I had huge chairs that were blocking other people's views being an issue. I had to take the chairs back to my vehicle and come back to enter the venue. What do I see when I enter the venue? Conveniently they were selling lawn chairs for $30 apiece. How convenient. Just another way for the venue to make more money from fans. The event started at 7pm. Snoop didn't start until after 10pm. Watched a lot of people leave before the main act as he was taking his time getting on stage. Overall 1/10 experience. I'm not sure who is running this venue but upper management might want to look into getting someone who knows what they are doing. read more

Just came from Bad Company/Wallflowers concert. Excellent shows!! Paul Rodgers amd Co outstanding, rocked the house. So many great songs. Easy entrance into venue, we left halfway thru Encore, easy exit. No heavy traffic leaving. Lots security, really good food, clean porta potties, well organized event staff. Only con: gravel parking, dirt dust inch thick on car. We will be back! read more

I attended the Jeff Foxworthy concert last night at this venture. Was supposed to start at 7:00, local DJ came on stage at 7:35 then 5 minutes later introduced an opening act. Opening act lasted 20 minutes followed by a 35 minute break, then finally at 8:45 Jeff Foxworthy came on. Great performer!! Then since you have to take a bus shuttle to this place, we waited in line for over an hour to get s shuttle back to Black Oak Casino. Lots of frustration with people waiting and the event staffers arguing between themselves. You had event staffers who were flagging down shuttle buses for their own group ignoring the lines of people waiting later then them. Not a pleasant place to be with concert goers yelling because another event staffers flagged down a shuttle for their group while sending smaller shuttles forward. No organization anywhere and supervisors saying "can't do anything about it". This was my 1st and last time going to this concert location. Unless Black Oak Casino gets better in their organization this place wil not be successful. read more
