McClure wasn't my first love in the fitness world, but I have a strong feeling that they'll be my…read morelast!! Back over 15 years ago, I started Jillian Michaels' videos and I've been pretty fanatical about her style/method throughout the years. Less than a year ago, we relocated to the Bryant area and I had heard about this gym from some coworkers. This past April I decided to give it a try, and what a GREAT decision that turned out to be!! Although, I had worked out consistently for 5-6 days/week over the years, most of my workouts were the Jillian or Autumn Calabrese Beachbody videos. Most of these workouts were only 30 minute long videos (a few were an hour), and turns out that I just THOUGHT I had been working out. McClure has taken my fitness journey to a whole other level!! The first few months kicked my butt, but in the best way possible!! I got so much stronger than I ever even thought possible and am now in the best shape that I've EVER been in before at 35 years old. The atmosphere is relaxed, yet challenging--and it's a total "no excuses" vibe which I love!! Need modifications? The instructors would be more than happy to provide them. Since I always did the workout videos in my living room, I considered myself a lone wolf exerciser and wasn't sure how I'd like the group environment. It's awesome!! There's a total supportive atmosphere to so many people giving it their all on the gym floor together. Definitely strength in numbers & an accountability factor. Sometimes, I try to feed off of competitiveness, as well, like trying to be as fast as this person or that. It really pushes me compared to my old school living room workout videos. My advice to anyone seeking a place to workout is to give it a try. I suggest trying more than one class because the classes that are offered are so diverse and versatile. Don't make your judgment on one visit. When I started, I got a punch card for 10 classes and tried numerous classes to hit on instructors who matched the style/intensity that I was looking for. I feel like that's a good route to go because they all have different things to offer. Also, the owner of the gym definitely "practices what she preaches" and for me that is so important. She's always been welcoming and happy to help with any question I've had during this process. For once in my life, I actually LOOK like someone who works out 5-6 days/week and, no doubt, that is 100% due to McClure!!

I The club is nice but my experience of having true access to tennis league has not been good. I have tried to get into leagues and always told on a regular basis that they are full but somehow , I have met people who I play tennis with at other people who manage to get into the leagues. I play 3.5 tennis I should not have a problem getting into leagues at my own club. I am told to get on the sub list. I pay for full access to all clubs, when it comes to playing tennis the Racquet club and athletic clubs seem to be full. When it comes to renting courts, and doing live ball, I have no problem with those services because I am paying extra for them. I know that the league has fees too. Unfortunately , I live in Arkansas , I learned that the tennis culture is not the best, very selective from my experience when it comes to tennis and of the limited access of indoor courts in the state does not help . I would strongly recommend that you ask about all access before joining . This people will not change trust me .

FYI, ATA uses deceptive sales practices and will tell you that you can quit any time, what they don't mention is that you have to move! After a good friend heard my story and recommended Impact I visited and was immediately impressed by what I saw. Instead of a bunch of little kids with advanced belts sitting around a candle meditating (ATA), I saw kids running, exercising, fighting, "YES SIR" responses expected, and my son was immediately excited about what he saw. It just so happened while I was there an original founder of the school happened to be present. When I told my story about ATA and still having almost 6 months to go on their contract that they refused to terminate, he suggested to the man currently running the school they allow my son to attend free for 6 months! Needless to say we took them up on their offer and some 9 years later are still there, need I say more!
