Sigh. Okay. So, I really didn't know if this review was going to happen. In fact, it's been sitting in my drafts for about three months now. I asked myself a lot of questions including, "Is there anything you WON'T review?" The answer, is "yes", but I feel like this place deserves my review because of how they treated one of the most difficult situations of my life. Recently, after a long illness, my mother passed away at 65. There were a lot of questions to be answered, not the least of which is what funeral home we should turn to in this trying time. For various reasons, we decided on Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home for my mother's services. Now, a lot of people might just think that a funeral home is a funeral home, and I guess to a certain extent this is true. When it comes down to something like this, you are reviewing the people who you dealt with in your time of need. Westside Leitz-Eagan is lovely. My mother's services took place in a small chapel with the greatest of care. We wanted special changes made to the Mass, and they were happy to be accommodating. Mr. Joe was the funeral director and he was so wonderful and kind. He made sure that all of our needs were met and that everything was to our liking. The priest who did my mother's Mass was Father Finn and my mother would have just loved that he was from Ireland, since she was of Irish lineage herself. After the funeral we all traveled across the river to my mother's resting place where Father Finn said a nice prayer and gave us the time we needed to say farewell. Everyone was so kind throughout the entire process and I couldn't have asked for anything more. I know that my mother would have been so happy with the way that everything was conducted. I am completely recommending Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home for your funerial needs. My experience with them was as wonderful as a situation like this can be and everyone was beyond kind and understanding. read more

SMITH Derl "Bill" Smith passed away at his home on Saturday, July 10, 2010. Beloved father of Rena Darlene Smith, Timothy Moran (Deborah), Marie Moran Tate (Mark), Tammy Smith Davis (late Billy), Derl Moran (Staci) and Deborah Smith Noble (Joe). Also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Son of the late Vernon Smith and Levi Anderson Smith. Brother of Bobby Jo Smith, Bonnie Reynolds, Larry D. Smith, Charles "Buddy" Smith, Mitchell Smith and Virginia Smith; he was preceded in death by siblings Wince, Curt and Betty Smith and Jewel Lowe. Former husband of Janet Erwin. Mr. Smith, who just recently observed his 80th birthday, was an U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Co. I, 32nd Infantry, APO 7 and was honorably discharged in 1956. He later retired from Hobson Galvinize. Our Dad will be sadly missed by us all. He is at peace now. We love you, Daddy. the service plan all is done beautifully and they are wonderful with it to. there is only one set of stairs and this is why they only got three Please read my review on there products Here is where they get no stairs My biggest grip is there products I paid for a beautiful glob that the ashes come in it is tall like flower and when turned on the ashes swirl around the glob really beautiful. I wanted 3 months for my glob. Got the call went in to only see that it was not a glob but a round ball with a batterie operated light the ashes are in a cardboard tub and it says so meany teasoons are in there this is not what I paid for at all it is a pice of crap toy with a heavy ball. I brought this up to to the man who handled everything I was told this is the only one we sell. I told him this is not what I ordered he insist that it is I did not pay for a little light that's like a toy with a heavy little round ball on it that is not. Then a week later I get a call saying look I don't want to part like this I wil wipe this out as if you never bought it. I also ordered the finger print chain they give the wrong one. My husband died on Aug 29 219 The date they have is 1/29/66 Now how do you get aug 29:219 ? To 1:29:66 numbers don't add up right. Makes you wonder who is doing this. I wonder if the print is even his or is a chain that comes in a chain box with a print already on it and they ingrave it? This is a rip off for sure. You go them at a time when you are upset and they up sell you these things and tell you how beautiful and this is there print on it nope totally rip off. I taken for a ride and I hope this goes around a lot because when you are grieving you will jump at those beautiful things and then get told all sorts of bull on why you did not get the right one. I was absolutely a wreck when my mother past away 3/16/19. I have never had to plan anything like this. Mr. Roy helped me. He walked me through everything and we were able to do everything we wanted within the given budget. He was understanding and called me just to check on us as a family to see how we were holding up. I wanted to ensure my mother's funeral was as beautiful as the person she was. Several times I begin to get stressed, Mr. Roy worked with his manager Mr. David to make sure any hiccups were resolved. I can't thank them enough for the job they did. Everyone that attended had wonderful things to say about her preparation and her service. They suggested Sister Donna to perform my mom's service and she was amazing. I truly felt like we held my mom's funeral based off of her personality. Thanks so much. read more
