Hartwells Christian Mortuary and Funeral home took care of the service for our baby brother. They…read morewere very professional, caring and gave him an absolutely beautiful home going ceremony. Everything that my family wanted was detailed and executed to perfection. Last minute we asked that pictures were not taken and a person from the mortuary team stood by to ensure that this did not happen. We placed special items with our brother and through shakey hands and blurred vision the team helped me and did not put up any resistance. They ensured that his clothing was perfect, they helped me place his glasses on him and stood by without complaint as I checked and double checked that everything was how my family expected it to be. They patiently helped us every step of the way. This is a hard review to write, an unexpected and painful review to write but also necessary. I am hopeful that you will not need their services, but in the event that you do, expect perfection. The pastor gave a beautiful eulogy, the service was heartbreakingly amazing and beautiful. I watched from the time our brother was pushed past me in the sanctuary before grieving family and friends arrived to the moments that he was laid to his final resting place, and he was handled with care. We were not rushed to grieve and not a second felt hurried. In such a heavy time of distress and sorrow, they came through for my family and we will forever be grateful to them. We thank Pastor Hartwell and his team and we highly recommend them, as my sister stated... Our brother was put away Cadillac style. A million thank yous for lifting some of the stress from our family in a time of need.

It was the burial place for thousands of New Orleanians, including victims of yellow fever & has served as a filming location for movies and TV programs. The cemetery is currently closed to the public due to ongoing repairs and maintenance, so we walked around the cemetery peering inside.
