I have never received such incredible care from a doctor or his staff. I had to have a root canal…read morere-done after another dentist didn't do a proper job. The staff was kind and got me in the following day. Dr. Chavez came in and explained everything to me in plain English, so that even a non-endodontist like me could understand it! He walked me through why the other root canal had failed, what he was going to do and what to expect. The procedure itself took about 15 minutes. I was never in any discomfort during the procedure. I was given after-care instructions & a follow up appointment for the following week. Due to a horrible bacterial infection in the tooth and bone, I was in agonizing pain once the numbness wore off. I called Dr. Chavez's office and they spoke with the doctor and decided to give me a stronger antibiotic and some medication for the pain. They even gave my husband the Doctor's personal number, in case there were any issues at the pharmacy. Over the weekend, the pain was constant & wouldn't stop. My husband called the Doctor's personal cell phone and Dr. Chavez spoke with my husband, calmed our anxiety, and gave us instructions to better manage the pain. His staff called me the following Monday to check on me. I was still hurting and they told me I could come in. We got there at 5 till 12:00 when they were about to close for their lunch hour. I felt awful coming in when they were about to close but they all assured me they wanted to make sure I was taken care of and feeling better. Dr. Chavez came in and spoke with me about my symptoms & we decided to try numbing me again in order to give the antibiotics more time to start working. After the shots, the pain was so much better. I woke up this morning and what had been a screaming 10 on the pain scale was now a 1.5. I still have some slight discomfort but it is day and night compared to even yesterday. Then, this evening at 7:30, Dr. Chavez called us to see how I was feeling and to go over my options for my next appointment. I can't say enough good things about how much I love this Doctor and his staff! I have been cared for with such a high level of care & expertise & I'm so grateful that what has been one of the most painful times of my life, I had a doctor who took incredible care of me! While I hope you never have to have a root canal redone (I wouldn't wish this on anyone!) if you do need an endodontist, you can't go wrong with Dr. Chavez & Endodontics Associates-they're truly the best!

I'm not for "removing" reviews just because I only write true experiences BUT I am updating this…read morereview because I just received a letter of apology from the doctor for my first(and only) visit to that office and I am super impressed by his professionalism and the fact that he cares about his service and reputation. First of all, who writes to customers anyway? And who actually take the time to look at their challenges, fixes it, and let the customer know of the outcome? I think that's a top notch customer service. Here's the rest of the review. The decor is super fancy with leather couches, jazz music softly playing in the background, paintings & exotic artifacts throughout. Apparently, this office has been nominated numerous times for "top dentists" & "patients' choice" awards. The dentist and the dental assistant were very friendly, pleasant, and caring. The dentist explained things he's doing to test and what the solutions are in easy to understand terms. They got the exact figures $$ for me before deciding to go for the procedures so I don't get an unpleasant surprise later. I got my root canal done super fast and had no problems physically and financially. Glad I finally was able to chew pain free after a year!!

Goodis did a root canal on my wife. He seems to believe in pain. He would not use anesthesia (gas…read moreor other), only a little Novocain. He put 12 stitches in her gums in an extremely painful procedure and sent her home with inadequate pain medication. The stitches came out that night and she bled profusely. There was no way to contact him. His supposed answering service hung up as soon as it answered. He did no followup that evening to see how she was. DO NOT LET THIS GUY TOUCH YOU!! You will be in agony. There are lots of other dentists that care and believe that you should not suffer.

I also would NOT recommend this guy. Luckily I didn't let him work on me at all. After MONTHS of…read morecontinued pain and two root canals on adjoining teeth, I was frustrated and had been referred by my dentist to see if he could help. He didn't listen to me at all when I tried to explain what was going on, talked over me and abruptly cut me off (after suggesting I needed ANOTHER root canal in another adjoining tooth) to say that he could do the root canal or we could schedule it for some other time. I've been to two specialist since and neither one thinks I need a root canal, particularly in the tooth he suggested and even better, my pain ISN'T TOOTH RELATED AT ALL! If this yahoo had taken just a few moments to talk to his damn patient instead of just pushing me through like a root canal factory, he might have noticed. The tooth he told me I needed a root canal on has NO indicators for needing a root canal. Bottom line, always get a second opinion, especially if the first comes from this guy! He was so rude and my experience was so negative! STAY AWAY!

The Dentist today was so mean to me today!…read more Sonrisa Family dentist said I needed five crowns but they took my insurance, and some filings. They wanted to charge $5000. 2nd dentist, I got a second opinion. They are usually my primary dentist, but they stopped taking my insurance. I had them look at the five teeth the 1st dentist said I needed crowns on. 2nd Dentist said that the were just level two cavities and I didn't need crowns. I paid out-of-pocket for this dentist to fill them. I had to go back to the Sonrisa to get the teeth filled that were covered by insurance. He was so pissed that I already got the other teeth done. He was such in a rush and so mad the whole time filling my teeth because of it. He also gave me a speech at the end saying that he doesn't like people to go back back-and-forth to other dentists and not to come back until they finished all the work they're doing. Are you kidding me I am never going back! He's just mad because I got a second opinion and they fixed my teeth, and it didn't cost $5000. Do you research, because so many dentist offices are such a scam. Also, when you go get a second opinion. You are allowed to ask for copies of your x-rays and take it to the other dentist office. A lot of people don't know you could do this. This will save you money!
