We had a lousy experience with Amfit, across the board. The therapists are conceited, and think…read morethey are hilarious. They talk to each other throughout your whole session, which isn't that long. Then they pass you off to an assistant, and barely pay any attention to you. Additionally, the receptionist is rude and not skilled -- she got several of our appointments wrong, and it took months to settle that out financially. She also double booked us a couple of times, so we got even less attention. You can do better, whether you go to Greenwich or Norwalk. We have found much better therapy skills, and certainly better interpersonal skills, elsewhere.

I have been receiving physical therapy at AmFit for several months following a total knee…read morereplacement. While Greenwich is a long drive from my home, Mike was strongly recommended by my surgeon from the Hospital for Special Surgery. Having been to other PT establishments prior to my surgery, I was not prepared for the personable, professional and thorough care I would receive at Amfit. Mike did everything he could to provide a complete assessment and ongoing therapy. The positive environment in this office makes you feel comfortable and encourages success. When I was a bit anxious about moving up to a new skill or piece of equipment, Mike made it possible by starting me off with a simplified task and I was able to move ahead once more confident. With the added benefit of a second office closer to my home, I started to work with Hope after my initial work in Greenwich. As with all good professionals, Hope has a different style of treatment but is every bit the consummate therapist. I feel that I have gotten different things out of my sessions with both therapists. Hope is very committed to her clients, she takes the time at the beginning of each visit to assess any changes in functioning and revises her treatment as necessary. She is very much a hands on therapist. I have been treated by interns and assistants, at times, but never felt they were fully responsible for my care. In every case, I felt that Mike or Hope were aware of everything that was happening and intervened when needed. I will miss the support of their care when I graduate from therapy, but I will do so knowing that my treatment was as good as it gets.

Peter Zielinski runs the best physical therapy practice I've ever used -- anywhere, i.e. east…read morecoast, west coast, or in between. He's resolved problems for me and my family members that the "best" physicians in their field have said could only be healed via surgery --neurological, orthopedic and spinal included. His success rate is second to none because he's one of the very few highly trained P.T.'s who listen closely to their patients' symptoms, and then treat the affected areas personally: using their hands, teaching patients the daily routines that can help them the most when they're at home; and using their office visits to listen to their patients in order to assure they learn whatever new routines and exercises will help them recover as fully and as fast as their conditions will allow. Time and again, the highly attentive, hands-on guidance and instruction they provide has rapidly yielded benefits that have far exceeded those provided by the other P.T. practices I've occasionally had to use -- most of which simply put their patients on machines and devices that yield little long-term benefit. The best proof I have that Zielinski Physical Therapy is the most effective and patient-friendly practice in Fairfield County is this: I know several highly respected CT orthopedists and surgeons -- whose practices include their own in-house physical therapists -- and when they or a family member need uniquely experienced, highly trained and consistently successful results, time and again they've relied on Zielinski Physical Therapy's practice in Monroe, CT. Plus, the staff there is terrific --every one of them provides their own form of encouragement, professionalism, and cheerfulness, motivating patients to complete their at-home exercises, overcoming their injuries as fast & as pleasantly as possible. Even if your doc recommends that you use his own practice's P.T., give Peter Zielinski's team a try ... I'm sure you'll be glad you did.

My lead therapist is Alexander Torres who is an exceptionally bright and very kind young man. My parents were both physicians and they taught me a lot about medical care, and Alex possesses so many of the crucial qualities a great doctor should have, which makes him an outstanding example of the BEST in his work. INNOVATIVE is truly blessed to have him as therapist, leader and a friend on their wonderful team. Another therapist, Nick Guarcello, an associate with Alex, has also worked hard to improve my condition and his medical knowledge and kind, cheerful personality have been essential in my progress. Also, Andrew DeFranco, an aide to Alex is an energetic, intelligent young man who has been available and has done a great job working on my issues. And last but not least, Christine, the sweet, very helpful receptionist is a great, very pretty asset to the image of your company. I am moving to Austin, Texas tomorrow which is a difficult change, but necessary for me, and I will truly miss INNOVATIVE and I just had to thank you and your team for your attention, expertise and medical wisdom and if I return to this area some day, I will be there right away. Best of luck, great success, and much love to you and your outstanding company and its members.

After returning to this practice following a few months away, I was genuinely shocked by the level…read moreof unprofessionalism I encountered. Dr. P immediately made unnecessary comments about my vacation destination, revealing a surprising lack of basic geographical awareness. He then shifted into odd commentary about my birthday celebration -- remarks that were irrelevant, inappropriate, and frankly unwelcome. Throughout the appointment, Dr. P spoke far more than any chiropractor I've ever seen, and unfortunately, his conversations consistently veered into tangents that had nothing to do with chiropractic care. Many of these comments were rude, dismissive, and completely out of line for a healthcare setting. The most concerning moment occurred as I was leaving. I asked a simple question about using a foam roller for a "snowman" exercise, and he responded by accusing me of being racist -- then corrected himself and said I was being sexist for saying "snowman" instead of "snowwoman." This kind of crass, performative humor is not only unprofessional but deeply uncomfortable, especially for young women seeking care. After reading another woman's negative experience, I felt compelled to share mine. Women should be aware that this practice requires a thick skin for abrasive behavior, inappropriate commentary, and an overall lack of respect from the doctor. To make matters worse, I had even considered his referral to another chiropractor closer to my home. That experience turned out to be even worse in terms of professionalism. Based on both encounters, I do not believe these environments are safe or appropriate for young women seeking chiropractic care. Additionally, during my visit, the staff was printing hundreds of "free exam" invitations and asked me to refer friends. I called the next day and made it clear that while I am happy to recommend local contacts, the doctor's conduct must be addressed -- otherwise new patients will walk out just as I did. Although Dr. P may be technically competent, the environment he creates is unacceptable. Based on my experience and the experiences of other women, I will not return and strongly caution others -- especially young women -- before considering this practice or any referrals associated with it.
