Another year another dollar. I can speak specifically to my experience and my tax guy. I have been using Nate Tuttle since he was legally allowed to work on a person's taxes 2013ish. I need someone that I knew would look for every possible way to get me a fair return but didn't want to pay more than TurboTax type prices. And honestly being able to talk to a real human being without a hiked price was a huge win. Since then he has provided great customer service and has been a major asset to the Weston & Tuttle family. Every time he has saved me money, got me a return, with little to no questions for me. I provide him with all documentation and he puts his head down and goes to work. THE VERDICT: Cannot be more pleased with the service rendered by Nate and highly recommend using him, not just if you live in the surrounding area but his knowledge of tax law and information expands throughout the entire United States. If you are looking for an unaccountable accountant this is the place to go. In the 4 years I went here, they had messed up twice. The first time was small and accidents do happen, so I thought no big deal. The second time however, that one was big. I supplied them with accurate information and they did not report the income of an entire 1099. They basically said it was my fault and I'm suppose to double check my taxes, I did double check what I know but I'm no tax expert, which is why I went to a CPA. Back to the double checking, both my 1099's were in the file with the accountants handwriting on them, Sam Hoppe even verified that's how he double checks his work. There was also a preparation packet I filled out where both 1099's were totaled up, with the accountants handwriting on it. In my double checking this indicates he accounted for everything. By the way, they told me they never received the documents. When confronted they said sorry, but placed blame on me. They offered to pay the interest and penalties on the money but that's it. I take responsibility for my taxes and will pay them. I had to get a 24k loan for this which all I wanted was for them to pay that loan interest. I previously had the money but paid cash for remodeling my home that year since it did not go to taxes. I'm a responsible husband and father of 3 who is working 2 jobs. If my taxes were done correctly I would of simply held off on renovating my home. Now I have a loan and an extra payment I have to deal with, creating hardship for our family. The loan I got was not a personal loan either, I got a low rate loan against a vehicle I had paid off to make the interest as cheap as I could when I asked Weston and Tuttle to pay for it. They told me no. I spent 2 hours and 7 minutes on the phone with the IRS, most of it on hold. The IRS said I could get them to abate my penalties and interest, that total almost equals my loan interest. I shared that info with Weston and Tuttle, trying to work with them, I figured if I could get the penalties waived, they could pay my loan interest instead and it would be a win win. They told me I was a lair and the IRS would never say that. But the IRS did say that. Weston and Tuttle would not even refund their fee, which I asked them to do so because I technically paid for my taxes to be done right and they were not. They told me they would give me half off this years, that's just silly, why would I go back to them? They have no integrity, accountability or professionalism at this firm. It's been over a year and they have still left me with the bill to pay the penalties and interest that were the direct result of their terrible service. Again they stated they would pay these, so i email them the IRS letters when I get them and they don't even acknowledge me. read more

I feel bad about giving bad reviews, but my experience was not a positive one. I went to W&T for tax prep after my CPA retired. Long story short: they charged more, made an error in the IRS's favor and wanted to charge me to fix the error. So after giving them a shot for two tax seasons I ended up with somebody else this year who charges less, understood all my documents/benefits, and I'm back to getting a small refund. I know they do a lot more than tax prep, and they probably do a fine job, but I did not have a good experience with them. read more

I was using Mark Tuttle for my taxes since 2010 based on a referral. We decided to change to a different CPA because we felt the customer service became extremely poor. It would take weeks to get a returned phone call or have have someone respond to our e-mails. We ended up having to go directly to their office to see if we could get some help to answer our questions and Mark Tuttle was not in the office. We were told they would leave a message for him and have him get back to us. A few weeks have passed and still no phone call. At that point we made a change and we couldn't be happier.
