AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! We lived here for over 5 years and when we were trying to move out, a new rental agency called to verify our rental history and Westmall Terrace LIED. Told them we had been there less than a year, had multiple late payments etc. (ALL FALSE). We were model tenants. Maintenance takes weeks to fix anything, parking is a nightmare, rent continues to rise, the gate never works and there are CONSTANT break ins and thefts, management makes up new rules every day that tenants never agreed to, management is always changing and no one ever knows what they are talking about...the list goes ON AND ON. They deliberately sabotage you when you try to move after making your life a living hell. We complained dozens of times about our neighbors smoking in the apartment, made noise complaints and other issues, and management never followed up on anything. But they are SUPER concerned with you having a BBQ on your patio or other decor they deem "unsightly" yet nothing is ever fixed around the complex. The location is basically the hood now, as the gas station across the street has constant shootings. After we moved out they made up BS charges about cleaning fees and things they needed to replace, even though we followed the move out contract EXACTLY and deep cleaned the entire apartment. They stated we needed to pay for things that were never listed, and when asking for proof of these issues, they never responded. Scammers. read more

This apartment complex is not terrible to live in, I feel for the amount I'm paying its not very well cared for. But my biggest issues are- 1. Parking - living on the hill, the parking is so tight that you are almost guaranteed to be side swiped at least once while your living here. There is simply no enough room for cars. And there is always a waiting list for a garage/covered parking. So good luck. 2- The trash situation is out of control. Piles and piles of trash cover the compacters, it's disgusting. I see possums and raccoons nightly chilling outside my porch. Ew. 3- The staff seems really great, but they have people walk around and take pictures of everyone's balcony area, one day a friend was over and she was in her undies and our window was open ( we have a very private view ) and this man just comes up and snaps a picture. By far the "worst management personnel" ever. The management ladies are unprofessional, unorganized, clueless, disrespectful, and they don't follow protocol. Especially Julia! She is by far the worst. From disrespecting clients, to belittling, and plainly treating military personnel like they are beneath her. I recommend they fire her! Whoever is in charge of this place must not know what is going on. There filling system is none existent and the lack of information tracking is the worst. I'd like to start off by saying it's a gated community but don't plan on parking your car inside the gates! If you get off work after 6pm you will not get a parking spot. If you choose to park your car inside the complex and don't find a spot do not I REPEAT DO NOT park your car along any curbs because they will tow 10 cars in one night. When you go into the office to see why you were towed they will tell you that there were plenty of open spots. They lie to your face and you have to deal with a $400 tow bill because there aren't any warnings. Plan on getting door dings also because the parking spots are to small!! They don't replace water heaters until they are rusted out and poring water all over your apartment. When you submit a work order they come through your apartment and note that there was nothing wrong so if you have a leak and a room is filling with water just plan on it being like that until your lease is up. The garbage is a disgusting place! There are to many buildings for only two garbages. By mid week the garbage is over flowing. We paid our deposit, first and last months rent, $500 pet fee. At move out they changed me over $1,200 in cleaning fee's. I asked the office what to expect when we move out and what kind of changes we would have. They told me that I would get half my deposit back if I cleaned the place before leaving. I didn't leave any mess and I have never had an apartment do this. Here's the deal, I lived at WestMall Terrace the entire time I was stationed there (3 and 1/2 years). I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with management...Matter of fact, I thought they were wonderful and that is the blunt, transparent truth. Some of the reviews I am reading on this site seems to catch people in some of their less romantic moments. The funny thing in life is that we tend to elaborate the truth into the way that works better for telling our story, instead of just sticking with facts...But that is the way a thought is produced, it is a little more advanced than that but just go with me here for a moment. Remember the telephone game, when we go back to recall facts, we recall a few things, the rest we paint to make the story more dramatic and interesting and in a way that suits our side of things over facts. A lot of people also take the lottery approach to life, they wait for things to happen to them or they wish upon a star...probably for the best apartment ever for the lowest price ever, maybe even with a concierge at their personal service...okay, that is a story I am telling myself, but I wanted to set the tone of some of the tenants I've met there that have issues with management. I had a neighbor that constantly slammed the door, my guess is that they just were not aware of what they were doing. Many people lack awareness in this life and that is just the way it is...but when we see people who lack awareness, we often tell ourselves stories (Read book Crucial Conversations by New York Times Bestselling authors Patterson - Grenny - McMillan - Switzler). We either paint ourselves as the victim, paint someone else as the villain, call ourselves helpless, or just give up because it is easier than working through the facts. Now, all I knew is that my neighbors slammed the door...constantly...Management and I spoke about this and in the end, my neighbors received a 20 day notice...Moral of the story, be considerate and aware that you live around other people and that respect has to be there. Some people get it, some people don't. For many leaving poor reviews, the way management treats you represents reciprocal altruism, and you get what you deserve...if you are nice and considerate and respectful and live like an adult, then you will probably get treated very well. If you don't act like a considerate adult, then you probably won't get treated all that well. Bottom line is I visited some of the so-called best apartments in the area and people do the same things at those apartments that they do at WestMall Terrace...Slamming doors, leaving piles of garbage, playing loud music, etcetera. You cannot blame management for that, it comes down to personal responsibility, some people weren't taught well by their parents or they just didn't come to realization of certain things growing up. The management there is some of the most understanding and considerate apartment managers I've dealt with and that is a fact. For me, they were a joy to have as management. Outside of that, the walls, ceilings, floors...all fairly thin, but if you have considerate neighbors, none of that is a factor. 5 stars for management, 4 stars for thin walls, ceilings, floors, my neighbor for the better part of the time I lived there...And the weather, I mean come on sunshine, I want to see more of you! read more

Pros-The staff are accommodating to our needs when we needed maintenance. The apartment complex was good and was nice for the rent we paid. We hardly heard any of our neighbors. Cons- Finding parking was brutal. The parking space was narrow. Most of the time, when we saw an available parking spot, someone would take up two of the parking stalls. The gym would get pretty hot even opening the windows wouldn't help. We had a 9 months lease. We figured our last month is July. Since we didn't get any "Your 9 months are almost up" notice, we double check when is our last month, the lady in the office said August. When we got our partial deposit back, it said we have been living there for 10 months. So, we paid an extra month. We moved out of the apartment complex in mid August. We didn't get prorated. We were responsible for the whole month rent. So, when reading your lease contract, read it very well. read more

All the reviews on here are the same for a reason, the awful management. The owners of Westmall terrace really need to get a few people in there who have more experience and know what they're doing and have morals. Or at least send a team of people in there for a good few months to retrain everyone in that office. They are very good at taking your money but they're not afraid to take advantage of you and use there failure against you. They do not keep track of documents given to them, they'll pretend they don't even know what you're talking about just to save there own butts so they don't get in trouble with the owners. The women in that office are very rude and unprofessional. I witnessed them telling a soldier that just because he's military doesn't mean they have to accommodate him and accept his orders to break his lease. She said "we don't have to do anything for the military" That is just so sad, after all they do for our country, we live free on the backs of the men and women who go over and fight and give there lives so we can be free. I wanted to move out as soon as I over heard them be so awful. Things to know if you plan to move in here because you can't find anywhere else to rent. 1. Don't be military 2. Don't expect any of your deposit back, expect a bill, even if you hired a professional cleaner and only lived there for 2 months like I did. 3. When you give your notice to move out, I would have them sign a copy of your notice or video tape them, if you don't they will try and say you never gave notice and charge you for the full month and try to charge you late fees. 4. When handling business with the women in the office just remember to protect your self, they are only there for a pay che They responded to my post, obviously they have several residents with this problem. Sucks that I have to even give them a one star. I've heard so many bad things about Dobbler, the company/management that runs these communities. When I first received how much I was going to pay, I was lied straight to my face (found out today). So, basically for two people to move in it was going to cost us $2,500 due before we moved in. Initially, it was $2,000. Our "last month's rent" was around $450, all of a sudden it was doubled that price TWO days before we were supposed to move in. Why not just tell us we are paying $2500 instead of giving half-assed answers? Furthermore, today I was INFORMED that I MISUNDERSTOOD, no because Nicole was the one who said the TOTAL if we wanted to pay the TOTAL was around $2000, all of a sudden it shoots to $1250 each. It's as some of these reviews said, they try to put eye candy in the front desk. I can scope people out and they don't give a shit about you, are rude, and lie to your face and then tell you that you're wrong when they have terrible communication. I asked where was my lease because they stated MULTIPLE times the lease would be ready a WEEK in advance. I had to call and show up physically just to get an answer about when the lease would be ready so I could ACTUALLY REVIEW IT. Instead, I called again TWO days prior to moving in and it was FINALLY ready because they were so "busy". But, they had no problem telling me that I misunderstood their LIE. Message me if you want to know more, seriously. I do not recommend this place, the staff sucks and they are rude and will literally lie to your face. You know I never write reviews (this is actually my first review) but I have to for this terrible apartment complex. I wish I could give them zero stars. I have been living here for 2 years now and I can't wait until my 9 month lease goes up. The management is horrible. Here are just a few examples to explain my reasoning: 1. Someone had parked in my carport. I called the towing company and they told me that they hadn't updated their carport list in 3 years so they couldn't tow the car. 2. The maintenance guy had told me I needed my concrete patio pressure washed and painted. He said it looked like it wasn't done even before the person who had lived here before me. He told me he would put me on the list to do it in the spring when it's warmer outside. Spring comes and I had to tell them to do it. They said, "Oh we don't pressure wash or paint the patios. We only do that when the person leaves." So I had to bleach my patio all by myself on my hands and knees to get all the bird poop off because I couldn't get a pressure washer on the second floor since there isn't a hose. 3. YOU CAN'T FIND PARKING ANYWHERE. Many times I had to park on the curb when there were no spots left and then they told me they would tow my car. They basically forced me to buy a carport because there isn't enough parking spots for all the residents. UPDATE: If you have guests that want to come over to your place, good luck. Guests are only allowed to stay from 7AM-7PM. If your guest(s) stay past 7PM, they have to park in the few total parking spots available outside the office which is not gated. Those spots are mainly allocated to future guests. So basically you don't have a chance to stay after 7PM. If you do, they will tow your car and trust me that's the one thing they do stick to. One time my boyfriend stayed over at my place, he left at the perfect timing because they were about to tow his car that morning. They already towed other residents' guests' cars and he was next. The staff are all very mean and rude and they don't care about their residents whatsoever. They talk to me like a child and I'm a college student. Unprofessional, chaotic, and unpleasant environment. Wouldn't recommend this hell hole to anyone. The only reason there are 5 star reviews on here is because they are giving out $5 Starbucks gift cards for those who write a good review, desperate much. In addition, it's a bad area around here. I know there have been numerous times where the police came and even though it's gated, I don't feel safe. Lots of druggies also live in this complex, would explain the police. Just last night I heard gunshots, not even kidding. I was scared for my life and I was scared to leave my apartment. I feel like I'm living in Detroit and the complex in itself just makes the area worse. Oh and I almost forgot, to top it all off you are right next to a graveyard. There is a huge fence separating the residents from it and it's quite disturbing actually. I look over one day and I'm like you can't be serious, I'm living right next to a graveyard, perfect. Can't wait to escape. UPDATE 11/26/16: I moved out of the hell hole and my mom had paid a cleaning lady to clean every little nook and cranny of that shitty little studio. We cleaned more than what we were required to clean on their check list. We even talked to the lady who inspects the apartments after you leave and she reassured us that we were fine and we will get our money back. So fast forward two weeks and guess how much money we got back? $20. Yes, 20 measly dollars. I thought it was a joke, but it wasn't. Remember a hell hole will always be a hell hole as much as they try to respond to my awesome review with their lies. Gated community which is nice! I cant leave my window open because of a extremely LOUD steel grate outside my bedroom window that cars slam over all morning and night. Went got ear plugs to help sleep. Even if window is shut it will wake you. Others are dealing with this issue as well. If you are going to live here have a room far away from these steel grates and you will be ok. Other then that headache it's a convenient location to mall and i-5! Some friendly people but mostly rude sketchy people around the neighborhood. Good enough small gym and pool. The apartments are decent to live in nice patio/balconies. Thin walls but thats how most apts are I suppose. Parking is bad... but if you get home before 9pm you should be ok. Wish they had more recycling options! read more

I moved in 6 weeks ago from out of state. My previous apt in another complex fell through because the previous tenants did not move out. The manager worked with me to expedite a move. Recently had a maintenance issue which was taken care of beyond all expectations. Communication with the the team was excellent. I had heard that parking was a problem but it has not been an issue since I have arrived. This is due to the new property manager enforcing policies. read more

Westmall terrace apartments is a great place to live. The staff there are always willing to help and fix any problems that may arise. Since I am in the military, I have deployed a few times since living at westmall and the staff were willing to check on my apartment and hold my mail for me during those times. They pride themselves on customer service to not only the military, but any resident. I have lived in two separate apartments since moving into westmall and the staff have helped me every step of the way. The apartment complex is gated which is a plus. The location of the apartments is also comvienent, it's a minute or two drive to the Tacoma mall and easily accessible to and from I-5. The apartments themselves are exactly what I was looking for. They are newly renovated with updated kitchen appliances and cabinets throughout. I will continue to live here as long as I can and would recommend living here to anyone in search of a place to live. read more

This is by far the best apartments I've ever lived in. The ladies who work the office are so friendly and helpful. I came in one day and needed a place as soon as possible. They went out of their way to help me out, always smiling when you came to see them. They really make you feel like family and knew my name the first month I lived there. While at the Westmall Terrace Apartments I had a leaking Window that management never made a serious effort to fix; the leak was so bad that the plaster fell from the surrounding sill and I had to periodically empty the soup can that I placed underneath the leak to contain the water. My apartment was flooded twice from the apartment above mine, once because a sprinkler went off and a second time because a toilet malfunctioned. I had neighbors who were prostitutes and gang members and one neighbor was actually shot to death across the street; on at least one occasion gunshots were fired into the parking lot. The apartments are cheaply built, so expect to hear EVERYTHING your neighbors do and don't expect any peace and quiet while living here. No matter how well you maintain your apartment and how good a tenant you are DO NOT expect to get your deposit back - management considers your deposit to be THEIR money! All in all, a poor place to live... read more

I moved in to my apartment in 2015. Here are my thoughts... Pros: For a one bedroom apartment with washer/dryer & dishwasher, this is about as rock bottom of a price you can get. I can tell that the new management is trying to make some changes. Cons: 1. This neighborhood is very insecure/unsafe. Since moving in, my car has been broken into twice. When I reported it to the managers, they blamed me and expressed no interest in the topic. While I never asked them to take the blame for something so beyond their control, I thought they might express concern/direct me to the right legal authority to report it/issue a memo to residents informing them that this was going on (simple customer service stuff). Instead they looked right through me and told me "that's life". Which brings me to my next point... 2. This is a GATED community, right? So why is the gate open and broken so often? I see the maintenance people out there, 3 or 4 days a week working on it, but never getting it fixed. The car prowlers? Yeah, they came through the side gate that is always open. It doesn't lock. So they can just wander on in. What the heck is the point of a gated community if it's not locked? I feel like there should be grounds for relief from my lease just for the fact that they claim it's gated when it's really not. 3. The neighbors are extremely loud and there is a metal plate on the street outside that makes a horrible noise every time a car goes over it. My neighbors also blast their music at all hours of the night, and I can easily hear the music of people driving through the neighborhood. 4. I once mentioned to the manager that I was having problems with noise (two domestic dispute reports to the cops for my neighbors, among other things.) She gladly said that I could call her phone anytime of night and she would knock on their door and handle it. I've called her more than twice, and while she was always nice, she also always told me 'just call the cops'. Then when I mentioned it again "oh call me, I'll take care of it." which is it? 5. Don't file service requests online. I placed one that way and it took more than five days for them to show up. I've had problems with more than one appliance and sometimes it takes multiple maintenance requests for them to actually fix the problem. I can understand that, but still frustrating. 6. I once mentioned that every inch of my apartment is covered in scratches, dents, paint stains and damage. The manager expressed to me that this is because I live in the "classic" section of the apartments (I was wondering why everyone else's place looks nicer through the windows). 7. As a resident of the "classic" section, I have to say there is almost no insulation on the outside facing walls. I get it - it's an old building. But even with a space heater (which you'll definitely need) the winder nights were freezing because there was nowhere to put my bed in the bedroom except against an outside wall. Even if I could deal with the noise for the sake of low prices, I can't spend another winter here. Note: you'll also need a really good fan in the summer too. I've gone back and forth a lot on whether or not to post a review because I hate sharing such negativity and like to give people the benefit of the doubt. But this is such a frustrating experience. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're on the hunt for the lowest possible price and work so many hours you'll never be home anyway. read more

UPDATE- I have had to call the office 3 times this week to report the outrageous noise level from our upstairs neighbors and the first two times they told me they would handle it and if it kept happening "further action would be taken" well on the third call I was told "well you live in an apartment you can't expect it to be completely quiet" so I have knocked my 3 star rating down to 2 stars because that is just not ok. We pay rent here, we shouldn't have to deal with rude upstairs neighbors who are extremely loud ALL DAY LONG from 6am to 11pm at night so we will be talking to someone on how we can break our lease. Haven't really had any issues. The girls in the office are really nice and helpful and the inside of the apartment is super cute. Our only two issues are the size of our apartment (pretty small for a family of 3) and our upstairs neighbor. We are on the bottom floor and the people who live above us have children who are constantly running back and fourth, bouncing balls, etc at all hours of the day and late at night. It wouldn't be that big of a deal to me if it wasn't affecting my 1 year olds sleep schedule. I understand kids are kids but if I had people living under me I would not allow my children to be running back and fourth all day and bouncing balls. I just think it's rude and disrespectful to not be courteous of your neighbors below you. We specifically asked for a bottom floor because we didn't want our sons playing to disrupt people below us. I didn't want to complain to the office but it's gotten out of hand and frustrating when it's affecting my son being able to sleep, so I made a complaint to the office and they said they would call them but they have not stopped. We also asked if we could switch units to a bigger unit and even offered to pay but were told no not until our lease is up- not sure why that matters if we aren't leaving the apartment complex and are willing to pay more for a larger unit. Don't think we will be staying once our lease is up because they are just too small for our family. but Other than that the apartments are great and well kept for the price. Pros: New manager Loriannne seems amazing I was shocked at how honest and straight forward she was while maintaining a personal connection. She is a breath of fresh air by comparison to previous manager. I was sad that we had to leave before we could work with her more. Due to unforseen circumstances we needed to break our lease. We had read reviews and was nervous about large costs and overcharging and scare tactics used to guilt tenants into not breaking the lease. I believed what I had heard based on the interacts I had previously had with staff. But upon talking to the new manager she didn't use scare tactics she simply told us how things would be per our contract which was completely fair and what I expected. Cons: The staff, when I moved in, were seemingly careless and uptight. I felt treated like a number rather than a person who was worth their business. I did like that we we're dictated to about how to keep our blinds and curtains. When it was time to renew our lease I felt pressured. Our apartment bedroom faced the balcony of the adjacent building. It was uncomfortable having blinds open because of a nosey neighbor who would stare into our apartment for hours. Parking spots are small and if you come home at the wrong time you may not find a place. Upon moving out I didn't like that we weren't scheduled a time to do a walk through with the manager to go through the apartment for inspection. My rating with is based on the hope I have in the new manager. I think things are turning for the better only time will tell. Good Luck future tenants. read more

This apartment must be the worst place I have ever lived. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. The staff is terrible they call and accuse you of damaging the property without proof or apparently no knowledge of even what car you drive that did it. When you already live here and call the office they don't call you back. When you go in the office they give you half answers. I called the office the first day I was in the apartment because the cover for their light was broken, they said they would send someone to fix it and never did. They are only nice to you to get you to move in. They don't even know how to do their job. You would think DMCI would look into these reviews being a large company and all, I guess it goes to show you the lack of management comes from the top. I have lived at Westmall for several months now and absolutely love it the staff have been great and accomodating including maintenance. They will even hold my mail for me when Im out of town. Reading over some of these reviews i dont see how anyone can say other wise. I mean i get that people rarely go on to write a positive review its mainly when they are upset and want to bash on someone. But after living in a few different apartment communities and actually been treated horrible i would definitely recommend them to any of my friends. Sure parking can get a little tight but only when Im coming home past 10pm then I have to park on the streets. Also the same as its been everywhere I live. The only time Ive noticed the trash overflown has been right after a major holiday. My apartment has been well kept and I love all the space. read more

You'll most likely have to park down the HUGE hill and walk up every night. Groceries and all. I've also been towed out of here, even with my parking pass! Also, My neighbor who lives below me constantly complains about me, and bangs on her ceiling with a broom! My boyfriend and I work opposite shifts and are never home! Don't expect to get anywhere with the landlord either. She's extremely rude, and quite honestly doesn't give a damn about you! Plus the rent here is waaay overpriced for all you get/have to deal with! I even hired Molly Maid to come in and clean the apartment, and I STILL didn't get my deposit back. just be nice to give 2stars. the real renter would do this a few stars like this. the five-star reviewers are fake.. i think they are the relatives of the landlord or their friends do them a favor.... here's why the star is so low... terrible parking space, sometimes when i come from work late there is not parking space for me so i park on the street and i have to wake up early to move it. staffs are so rude. disrespectful....come in to inspect my room like there is no human piracy. no respect for my room, my belonging... it's just like living in bootcamp you know what i mean. and the neighbor make noise all they want, no respect for others around.. when they're having sex you know it... when they walk you can hear it. i dont know maybe the build is so thin service around the apartment is so cheap... for example they don't do a dam about that trash... taking out on time. even after i called to notified... for a year i have been living here i never see they replace the light bulbs that burned out so i walk down hill in the dark when i work nightshift. and there are many places the lights are out. no replacement of the dam light the dam gate is always closed i know the gate is for the security but there is only one gate for coming in. if know drive here see for yourself. 4720 s pine st tacoma wa you will see how bad it is for trying to get in from the stop light do your research before you come here ok read more

A wonderful place to live. I've lived here on two separate occasions and have had nothing but positive experiences. They have quality apartments and prices are very competitive. It has a nice seasonal pool for cooling down in the summer and an indoor gym so staying in shape is easy no matter what the weather is doing without having to pay for expensive gym memberships and taking to commute out of working out. The office staff is very friendly and accommodating, and are always quick to respond should any issues arise. The location is perfect as it is close to both 56th st and 38th st on ramps to I5 making travel north or south very convenient. Just 10-15 minutes from JBLM even on medium traffic days and 25-35 to Seattle. In addition it is within walking distance to the Tacoma mall which has an ever expanding selection of fantastic restaurants. I would definitely recommend this complex above the others I looked at in the area. read more

I have lived at west mall terrace for 5 yrs and have had no problems with staff they all are wonderful people. The trash that's on us some people don't read well or allow their children to throw the trash out when they can't even reach the trash compactor. It does state to close compactor door in order for the compactor to do its job. So don't blame the staff blame the lazy tentant who don't read the big sign on how to use the trash compactor I've had no problem throwing my trash away. Second it's up to us to keep or area clean you cleaning out your car and just plan littering makes the place look bad pick your trash up and keep your area clean not hard to do. Ground keepers and maintenance crews can only do so much their not our maids. But if you won't a nice place to live then this is the place. Parking is a little hard but that's cause some tenants don't tell their friends or family they can't park or stay over but they do it any ways. Like I i said I've had no problems here neighbors I live near or respectful and I know all my neighbors there all good people. I went in to West Mall Terrace to look at apartments and met Lorraine Cawkill. What a lovely lady. She spent a lot of time showing up apartment layouts that would best suit our needs. Just because the apartment is bigger doesn't mean it will work with your furniture. The grounds are beautiful. The amenities are great and they love the SEAHAWKS! The residents have a book club and the SEAHAWK lovers gather in a common area t.v. room to watch the game. They have prizes for paying your rent early and great security. so our plans fell through with our move and have been here for 9 months and getting ready to sign a years lease. I still love living here, quiet, the parking on the hill that I see others reviewing about, well I live on the hill and yes it gets full and on weekends, but even coming home on a Saturday night at 1am am able to get a parking stall, not smack in front of my apartment but in the lot..my balcony, sunshine out, bopped into office to inquire about pressure washing, our guy was out there and he did it today, yep the hose wouldn't get to me on top floor, but the guy hand washed it with a brush and hose..perfection, better than the pressure washer, those pictures of the garbage, must have been the day of pick up...they compact it every night and really the garbage is closed away and not smack in front of someones door, its out in a corner, doesn't make apartments look trashy..just something to whine about..and dang I get a carpet clean with signing another years lease...I feel safer here than the home I owned with a huge security system. read more

In the beginning Westmall seemed like a nice place to live, the staff was friendly in the beginning. Once we moved in the staff became very rude and unhelpful. The day I moved in my storage door was broken, it wasn't until 2 service requests and a month later that it was partially fixed (still had issues with it). Upon move out after being there for 6 months I did my walk through with the lady in the office, she said to me "wow it looks really great in here; well you guys were only in here for 6 months right?" I said yes, and she it looked great "oh yah I have to check the blinds" I said "ya we cleaned those as well. She ran her hand down them and agreed with me that they looked great. (I am telling you this place was extremely clean, my roommate and I spend hours cleaning this place up, and we are very clean people to start with.) Later I receive a bill for charges that somehow added up exactly to my security deposit. Well that was money out the door, $50 for touch up paint (which is understandable), 100 for cleaning (what in the heck was the point of them giving me a checklist of things that needed to be cleaned and me and my roommate spending hours cleaning to be charged?), 150 for blind cleaning (are you kidding me?!!), 100 for ceiling cleaning (WOW, i work at an apartment community and I kid you not this charge does not even exist!!!!) I mean seriously this was so outrageous! When I did my walk through the lady said to me "oh wow it looks really great it here, you weren't here for that long right?" Nope only 6 months. She specifically went and looked at the blinds to ensure that they had been cleaned. She said they looked good. My suggestions, when you move in and move out take pictures of EVERYTHING otherwise they are going to try and charge you for it. I am not joking, take pictures of the walls, the ceiling, also take photos with an actual camera because digital sometimes does not stand in court!) Also, make sure you have paperwork signed and don't leave the office until they show you in writing how much they are going to try and charge you for, otherwise I can assure you, you will be sorry in the end. Managment is very rude and have no customer service skills. One day when I went in there, the employees were gossiping about a resident that they were having problems with. This was very unprofessional and inappropriate. Also, upon move out I paid my last months rent and utilities I ended up having a refund of $322 dollars back for the extra rent paid, its been 6 months later 2 messages left on their machine and I still have no received my money back, nor have I received a phone call back..(UPDATE: After getting corporate e-mail and letting them know they owe me money I got my check, given it was almost a year later!) I honestly do not suggest this place solely due to management, the apartment itself was great, they are nice looking apartments, and I enjoyed my stay in the apartment. During winter months however, don't plan on driving up the hill, I had to walk for a good two weeks up the hill in the snow. I hope this helps! This I understand is not managements fault, however it is something to be aware of. The cemetery next door was not noticeable most of the time; it is pretty well blocked off. read more
