I came here today to get paint for my living room after the Walmart employee referred me to come…read morehere since they were out of base paint. I was greeted immediately, and helped really quickly. The employee who helped me was really friendly, kind and helpful. I was in and out within 10 minutes with my paint for my living room, and was able to take a paint color sample book with me to figure out what other colors we want in the home we recently purchased. I'm unfamiliar with the area as I'm not from here, so I was unaware there was even a paint store in west plains. Needless to say thanks to the employee's friendliness and amazing customer service I'll be back for all of my paint needs!

There is plenty of staff to help you and their paint quality is great! I previously had bought some…read morepaint at Walmart for a small project and it was very watery and required several coats. The Sherwin Williams paint I bought to paint our home exterior was much thicker and had great coverage in one coat. They offer several qualities of paint. Also, they carry an insect repellant additive that can go into the paint which is useful to deter wood-eating insects. And, you can buy a jar as a paint sample to test the color before purchasing the larger amounts. The samples were perfect to make a decision of what color looked best for a huge, exterior paint project!

I am guessing it must be pretty tough to make a living in a music store in 2023. I live in…read moreMountain Home, AR and the music store we have sells mostly used equipment. I would love for West Plains Music to move to Mountain Home and set up business so we had a selection like West Plains does now. I went to West Plains Music about 6 weeks ago and talked to the owner about buying a new Fender Guitar. He was very nice to me, but I could tell that his stress load was at 400%. I agree that a store owner should never show their emotions like described in another review here, but we are humans and not machines. I plan to go there tomorrow to buy a new guitar, and I am thankful I only need to drive 45 minutes to get there. If West Plains stops doing business at West Plains Music, then we will all be forced to drive to Springfield Mo to actually touch a guitar we are interested in buying. Just my view of the situation.

The owner of this store has a terrible temper and is unable to control himself. He loses his temper…read morewith his customers and shouts at them as if he were their angry father and they were his angry teenagers. He is out of control. I have seen other signs of this, but today was the worst. I saw him yelling at a woman who was with two obviously disabled adults. She tried to calm him down, and he just started yelling at her. He shouted, "DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?" at her, as if he had some right to speak to her that way. Here's a clue: Nobody has the right to speak to anyone the way he spoke to her. She calmly took the disabled adults out of the store as quickly and quietly as she could. She told him that she would not answer him and that she was leaving. He followed her out into the street and continued to shout at her. As soon as I could, I slipped out of the store without buying anything. When my kids need band instruments this autumn, I will be getting them elsewhere. I think he is deranged. What kind of man cannot control his temper in his own place of business? If he feels free to shout at a woman he does not know at all, how is he treating his wife?

A long time ago, when I was in undergrad business school, several classes loved to teach about…read moreWalmart. It seems this company has something for just about every classic business school: marketing, distribution, management... You get the idea. And one of the things that I remember was that Walmart was very good about going into small towns in somewhat rural areas, and opening up a series of small stores. The prices at the small stores would undercut prices for local mom and pop hardware stores and clothing places, causing them to shutter. And once the competition was gone, the Walmart corporation would close most of the small stores, and open up a regional store much farther away forcing all those towns who enjoyed their own Walmart store to travel to a single one. That memory stayed with me while we visited this tiny little Walmart on our road trip. I wondered if this was one of those little stores that somehow missed old Sam's watch fly... This thing was about the size of a small supermarket, but still had all of the things you would expect in a Walmart. Plus, they had things you don't always see you like kayaks and inflatable boats propped up in the parking lot. At least, we don't get that kind of fun here in Southern California. The store was also cleaner than most of the ones I get the joy of visiting here in my native land, and it also wasn't populated by hundreds of people who seem to be having a bad day. The parking lot was small enough to give me a few extra thoughts about navigating it with my 26 foot camper trailer, but we did OK. Just a hop and I skipped off of this small country Road highway but I was traveling to our next destination, I was still able to find my DEF fluid for the truck, and a few other odds and ends for the cooler. Can imagine when I'll drive through here again, but wouldn't have any problem stopping in if I do.
