As a local business owner, my family has always used Rp Lumber for all our building needs. But…read morelately doing business in this particular store has put us in a predicament that we didn't ask for and will not be a part of. For the last 2 years we've used Mark as our sales rep and have been more than pleased with his work, his dedication to making sure we have what we need and it is delivered when it is needed, but a few months ago we noticed things changing there and not for the better. We feel like we've been put in the middle of some underhanded stuff. I'm an observer and so is my husband and I'll tell you what we've observed about the store in recent months. 1. Employees no longer put the needs of their customers first, it's when they can get to it. FYI: when they can all get out of the back offices and actually be visible for customers to ask questions and get things they need. 2. I've witnessed on 4 occasions, Mark working the counter, answering phones, and also trying to work with contractors to ensure they have what they need to do their jobs. When he asked for help, everyone in the room saw eye rolls and mumbling under their breath. 3. Contractors are put on hold while the store in West Plains makes deliveries up to 100 miles from here when there are stores closer to there in which to get supplies. Same person benefits from it, accept the fact that the sales person in West Plains has apparently branched out to places other locations can deliver to, meanwhile leaving contractors here high and dry. 4. Special orders are apparently only on time for some sales people, but others just have to deal with angry customers. Thats not right and how are customers supposed to know the chosen salesperson and not get stiffed for their orders. 5. Everyday stock runs low on a regular basis. 6. I've also noticed that rules for customers are different dependent on who is handling the sale. unfair business practices and why should a customer get preferential treatment based on the person handling their sale, meanwhile if you're with the "wrong" person then those same business rules don't apply to you. That makes everyone's day harder and places customers in the middle of an apparent clique issue and I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not here for the drama. Especially when the drama is causing me issues in my business and that of my husband! Why can one salesman accomplish some things for contractors but other salesman can't get the same exact thing done for theirs? Too much throat cutting up there. Employees are supposed to work together for their customers, but this bunch picks and chooses who is a customer! Lowes and Home Depot deliver from Mountain Home in a timely manner and even though we have always appreciated Marks hard work, we cannot tolerate the failure of management anymore.
