Bought a 30 dollar ace hardware branded shovel. First time using it, the metal just gave and it bent to the side like it was made out of butter. When I went to return it they hassled me and would not accept my return, instead I had get a different shovel (they took off the price of the original shovel) or I would have been turned away with nothing but a busted shovel. I've always considered ace hardware to be overpriced. But you can't sell shit overpriced items and not refund them when they break after reasonable (first time) use. read more

Extremely disappointed in the customer service and employee knowledge of home repair at this location. They do not appear to man their glass cutting and repair station or have any knowledge on the different options available. I ordered a few things to be delivered. I ordered on Friday with Saturday delivery. Never was delivered. Was told they don't have anyone to deliver on Saturday. The staff were friendly and knew exactly where everything was located, I have nothing but good things to say about the employees; I hope they can all find better jobs with a better company, because Ace stocks their shelves with items that are absolute garbage. I bought a compact hacksaw that clearly was labelled to have an adjustable frame to be able fit a 10 inch blade, it came packaged with a 10 inch blade. There is no way at all to fix the blade to the saw frame or handle, this item made in China (apparently Ace does not want Americans to have manufacturing jobs and would rather exploit the deplorable working conditions of a foreign country) absolutely should be removed from all shelves. I will NEVER waste my time on an Ace product again-everything there and more can be found at Lowe's or Home Depot, more options and better prices. read more

Hack - if you need to get a window pane/glass replaced, they can do that and the pricing is very reasonable. I've already done this twice - once they said it would be done in a few hours (no issues at all), and when I went this past weekend, they did it on the spot which was amazing. really appreciate that they offer this. read more

I prefer Barbie's Central Lake, and she says I have Ace Hardware. Located west of downtown Omaha and the trendy little area in a plaza where there's a Panera Bread among some other things. It's a really good hardware store and they have a lot of good stuff in here and prices are not bad. Definitely cheaper then the Home Depot. read more

I prefer these smaller hardware stores over the giant big boxes that tend to pop up along major thoroughfares. Sure, Ace is a chain, but they have all your basic hardware needs covered. Plus, unlike said big box stores, it's pretty easy to find an employee to help you. read more

Saddle Creek Ace. Westlake Ace is one of my favorite hardware stores and I have a few that I go to. This location is fairly close to work so when I needed some flourescent light bulbs that I didn't need a bulk amount of, I knew right where to go. As far as tool shops are concerned the service at Westlake locations is second to none. Walking in I had to maneuver around the seasonal grills and patio furniture, but the layout is similar to the other Ace stores I frequent. Greeted quickly with a smile and cheerful voice. I returned to the register about 5 minutes later and they had a different clerk. A little frustrating, but maybe they had to go on break. read more

I admit I go to Home Depot, but I always like to support the local Ace Hardware especially if I am going for one or two items. I am greeted by many of the employees asking me if they can help and I appreciate the service. We had to return an item and made a second visit. We were helped immediately to find the correct item and were able to return the previous item at the same cash register as we were checking out. No need to stand in line to return something and then go to a second location to checkout. I do not mind paying a little more for the friendly service. read more

Employees were nice, but hard to get anything done. Came in for rope took 20 min because only one employee was allowed to cut the rope. Between that and waiting in a long checkout line when there were plenty of employees sitting around ...I was less than impressed. To top it off having employees smoke on the bench outside the exit door where all customers have to walk through made the whole experience even worse. read more

Shelves for plumbing are kind of difficult to find stuff, over all stocking of shelves seems to be their weakness. Smaller store definitely a go to for some simple home improvements, nothing major. read more

I was a good customer and really loved this store. This season alone I purchased over $300.00 worth of plants from them. Particularly, 3 flats of impatiens. The plants all looked great except for one group of 4 - I should have just left it but I figured it had been damaged in transit and would "snap out of it" with good care. I planted the impatiens on a shaded retaining wall with new soil that I also purchased from this store. I had quite a few left so I used them in pots and containers. Within 24 hours many started to look like they were struggling. I thought insects, so they sold me Seven, no change - then they sold me a Bayer product, they kept getting worse. I consulted my sister in law who is a horticulturist for the city of Austin TX - she said the initial 4 plants were infected with downey mildew (plasmopara) - a common problem in green house nurseries. I went in to the store and showed them the plants that I had not yet planted that were dying and was told to call the manager today. I called him this morning and he was so RUDE. I was calm and respectful and he basically told me I was crazy and didn't know what I was talking about. In the nastiest manner possible he asked what I wanted....I said I would bring in pictures - heck I'd bring back the plants, I wanted 3 flats of plants of equal value. He huffed and said "bring pictures but we did not sell you diseased plants!!" His attitude just lost him a good customer. I'll never go back ever. DON'T BUY THE IMPATIENS - THEY HAVE DOWNEY MILDEW. AND NOW ALL THE TOP AND POTTING SOIL I PURCHASED IS CONTAMINATED WITH IT! read more

This mid-sized store has what I'm looking for AND it has knowledgable and friendly employees to help me find it, answer questions, and load things into the car when necessary. There is parking at the door. It is easy to get in and out of this store quickly and get on with the project. read more
