However if it takes 2 hours for a flight to get to Ottawa from Chicago and the plane has been grounded in Chicago (meaning it never left there) then they've known for at least 2 hours that this delay was guaranteed. So 2 minutes before scheduled boarding they finally drop the news!? Ridiculous! Maybe I could have made new arrangements but at this point I have no options. Absolutely shameful. They still haven't updated the screens to reflect the new departure time! I'll never fly United again, and I'd encourage anyone reading this to do the same. They don't even care enough to update you about MASSIVE delays and that's unacceptable. I feel bad for the gate agents who now have to explain why they didn't bother telling anyone for hours that our plane is as good as canceled. We arrived in Ottawa on time and I was surprisingly pleased that I had travelled across the country for such a low rate. I had assumed I would be sitting on the wing, lol. TL;DR: Good airline, but not as good as it used to be…read more So when Porter first entered the airline scene, back in 2006, it was the bees knees, lol, and I loved flying Porter. Their home base was Toronto's Billy Bishop Airport, so much more convenient to fly into Billy Bishop than Pearson! And not gonna lie, I kinda loved taking the ferry over to the airport (these days, there's also a tunnel you can walk). And they have a free shuttle service from the airport to Union station that runs every 15 mins. How cool is that? The thing I loved the most though, was their lounge. They had a special Porter lounge in most of the airports they flew to, with free drinks and snacks. Sadly, those are no more, but they were great when they lasted. They do still offer cool snacks during the flight, like cookies, fava beans and almonds. And their complimentary drinks include beer and wine. For non-alcoholic drinks they used to give you a small single serving bottle, which I loved because I could refill it and use it on my trip, but now they just give you a cup or glass of it that they pour from a larger container. I guess more environmentally friendly, although they sometimes give you disposable cups. The flight attendants used to wear old school pillbox hats, which I thought was oh so fashionable, but they don't wear these anymore. They also used to allow larger carry-on than their competitors, but now their maximum allowed sizes have also shrunk and are on par with the other airlines. Also, in the past their basic fare allowed a carry-on bag (in addition to a personal item) but now the basic fare does not include a carry-on bag, you have to pay extra. Also, in the past you could gate check your carry-on for free, but the last time I flew it looks like they charge for this service now. They have slowly regressed to being like all the other airlines, at least from a passenger standpoint. Customer service is still better than Air Canada or WestJet in my experience, but there's nothing too unique about them anymore in my opinion. Well, they have Mr Porter, their raccoon mascot, I guess, lol. I used to really love Porter Airlines. I still like them, but the difference between them and other airlines is really getting smaller. We will see what the future holds. Also I don't know what is up with all these bots spamming the Porter Airlines Yelp pages with like a million pictures that look like random stock images that have nothing to do with Porter, and the captions have bogus customer service numbers to call. Weird. And also annoying. I'm glad the Yelp moderators remove some of them, but they should be removing all of them! (157)

There is complimentary internet and Porter offers their passengers movies and shows to watch. All you have to do is watch a promotional ad to be able to use the internet. It is a bit slow but who is complaining. To make things even better they serve you snacks every two hours with drinks which includes wine/beer!! The snacks are the fancy ones that would buy at Winners. The seats do not have much cushion or space but I could not complain due to the service I received. You are entitled to one free personal Luggage. When you check in with a backpack they do not make it a big deal even if it's stuffed. On my second trip I fell asleep when the flight attendant was serving. When I asked her for a snack, she had no problem to get it for me and was not mad. The take off and landing was smooth with no issues. The lavatory was a bit on the small side. I will take Porter again hands down!

If you aren't planning to visit the museum, you can just let the admissions person know you're just there for the biplane ride and they'll let you in. The ride itself was cool and the pilot did some awesome twists and turns (he explained to us before ride what his plans were and confirmed if we were comfortable with the maneuvers). They also gave me a cushion as I was a little too short to see out the plane which was a nice touch.

When we arrived we met the woman at the desk who was very friendly. There was only one plane flying that day, instead of two, so we had to wait a little longer than our reserved time. Nice thing is we got to walk around the museum, so the wait was no bother at all. The flight lasted about 15 minutes and the pilot was a really friendly guy and consummate professional. Honestly the thrill of being in a biplane was worth it alone, and I loved when the pilot banked the plane sharply. Sure, I could have spent more time in the air, but I am not disappointed in anyway. The only thing we received was a receipt of payment. We had to look on the internet to find out which airline we were traveling on because that information was not provided. We later found out one of our flights wasn't even operating that day. When I contacted Tin-Bo they gave me the airline 800 number to call them.
