Arlanda Express - Ghost train? No - just great capacity; lots of people elsewhere on the train who didn't get advice from station attendant

Also if you're flying from Terminal 5, you save some time from walking to the transit hub at Terminal 4. Essentially as soon as you exit Terminal 5 baggage claim, you walk directly to where it says Arlanda Express, and take the lift up and you're on your way to Central Station. If you're traveling with multiple people, make sure you buy your tickets together because they offer a multi passenger discount. I flew by myself so I didn't get to utilize this discount... next time! There's no assigned seating (it's open seating!), so just hop on and find a seat (and a place for your bags). It saves time from having to find a specific train car or assigned seat. At Central Station, Arlanda Express operates from Spår 1 & 2. There's quite a bit of gravel outside the station, so I recommend walking inside the station vs dragging it through the gravel outside. Time and distance is the same. I flew SAS, so when I returned to Arlanda, I took the escalators up to the side that said Departures. Follow the signs up, and you'll reach the check-in counter directly in front of the escalators for SAS. Fast Track are to the right of the escalator, for those who don't have any bags. Pretty convenient if I might say! All in all, it took me about 40-45 minutes to complete my journey from Central Station to the SAS check-in counters & Fast Track. So while I paid an arm and a leg for Arlanda Express, it was very convenient since I didn't have to walk too much to get to/from Stockholm. It was nice that at T5, it literally drops you off right at the SAS check in area. Given the high price point, I give it a solid 3.5 stars rounded down to 3 stars. If the price can be cheaper, I'd definitely give it a higher rating.

OK, like many these days, I am watching my money. And coming in from the Stockholm airport,…read moreespecially if you have a monthly pass, it is cheaper to take the bus to Marsta and then the commuter train. But that takes longer and boy was it crowded yesterday. I had already contacted Arlanda Express because I will not be turning on my phone here. Why pay for all those telemarketers to annoy me. I'm older and accessing these QR codes scare me and I wanted to know if I could get a paper ticket. Yes but only here at the machines in Stockholm. Arlanda Express is quick to respond to your questions. This is the only way to go if you are jetlagged because of delayed and cancelled flights. There are 3 stops. Two at the airport and one at Central Station. Your other choice, the commuter train, can and yesterday was, packed like sardines. We couldn't even make it out the door and had to go to the next step and circle back. We are very familiar with Stockholm but you will find, for us non Swedish speakers, that the commuter train announcements and stations are worded slightly different than expected. Plus you have to walk to get it and walk and wait at the train station whereas Arlanda Express is right there AT the airport. It was COLD yesterday. On the return trip, I am spending the extra money for a more predictable trip. 18 minutes from Central Station. There are discounts for 2 or more paying normal price. Cheaper than a cab or ride share. And cheaper than an overnight stay at an airport hotel. But keep in mind that it only goes to Stockholm Central. That is fine if you are staying nearby. But even if you arent, Central Station has all the very good subway lines to transfer to. We were going to Sodermalm and I thought my initial commuter train was smart because once I got on it, it would take me to the part of town that I was staying, cheaper. At 24 hours awake, I have now learned to spend the extra few bucks on the faster less confusing option.

Peace Of Mind When Trying To Catch Your Flight…read morehttps://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/taxi-stockholm-15-00-00-stockholm-2?select=OYlkopPH5VCs7TBVZ-YnAQ&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w SITREP We just disembarked from Royal Caribbean's "Serenade of the Seas" at one of Stockholm's Cruise Liner Ports of Entry. We were not the only cruise shop disembarking either. Imagine the logistical nightmare this can be when trying to get to another destination - this time an airport - within a specific time frame to make your flight. THE SETUP Unfortunately, we find out at the last minute as we are disembarking that Royal Caribbean Customer Service really dropped the ball on hundreds of us passengers when their system "disappeared", "lost", "screwed up" (take your pick) our final destination transportation plans to get us either back to downtown Stockholm and/or to the airport to catch flights. So there we are: we've just arrived at the Frihamnscaféet port terminal, and are trying to locate & grab our luggage, find our loved ones and friends in order to figure our transportation detail. ALTERNATIVES For those who did not make plans - or had theirs botched - it's difficult enough, like herding cats trying to find your ride (anywhere) with thousands of people in the terminal, at the curb, in the streets trying to locate your pre-made rides (if those were set-up correctly). Imagine if you are then stuck trying to secure a ride. *CABBIES & VANS: The port is some dozen miles or so outside of Downtown Stockholm. Cabbies and vans usually are only going to the port if they already have a patron reservation made in advance (and this is where Royal Caribbean dropped the ball on us because our reservations were not processed by the front desk as we had communicated to their agents, in person; * BUS: Only about $5 U.S., but the nearest bus stop is more than a mile away - imagine those in your party with two or three suitcases trying to make it down the street, and THEN deal with that on the bus. [That's how I actually got to the port with my one roller suitcase, which wasn't a big deal, but walking through half the harbor was a chore with it.] But the Port is basically on the other side of downtown Stockholm, so the buses come back to the downtown Stockholm "Central Station", where you then have to jump another $10 bus ride to get to the airport which is about another 20 miles out. Or you can catch a $15 bus that goes straight from Central Station to the airport. So at this point, you in at least about $15-$20, and anywhere between two (2) to three (3) hours transit, just to get to the airport. TAXI STOCKHOLM 15 Another international passenger gave us the recommendation to call Taxi Stockholm 15. As it turned out, a Taxi Stockholm 15 cabbie was going to be there in 20 minutes after they dropped off another cruise passenger on a nearby line's pier. RIDE METRICS: * The fee to go DIRECTLY to the airport was $125, but split between the five (5) of us worked out to $25 each; * The cabbie flagged us at the curb where he stopped and we saw him immediately since we recognized his taxi logo; https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/taxi-stockholm-15-00-00-stockholm-2?select=OYlkopPH5VCs7TBVZ-YnAQ&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w * The car was big enough for 5 passengers (out of nine; four in our group were staying in Stockholm another 2 days) and all of our luggage; and most importantly; https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/taxi-stockholm-15-00-00-stockholm-2?select=sTxVf6s3m_1me5MrDJlDUQ&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w * We made it to the airport within 20 minutes, which meant that ALL of us would make our flights with plenty of time to make it through Security, through Passport Control, and even catch a quick snack. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/taxi-stockholm-15-00-00-stockholm-2?select=AD7dbcWTjFZposclfUBGJA&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w THE LOWDOWN Much obliged to Taxi Stockholm 15 for putting our minds at ease and getting us to the airport without any attendant-incidents associated to being late. Thanks! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/taxi-stockholm-15-00-00-stockholm-2?select=TMgGI4X2Zb3rAKm0gh4xbQ&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w

I planned my trip according to their timetable, but because of their terrible service, I missed my flight after the total delay was +80 minutes. They only offered 50% refund for the bus ticket, not for the flight I actually lost. This is honestly the worst bus company ever. I don't see any positive things related to them, only negative: - Expansive tickets - Buses don't come on time - Customer support have 0 comuncation skills - Drivers drive like a turtle, as if they are not already late Take them if and only if you want to miss your flight. They have stops at Hornstull, Fridhemsplan as well as close to Karolinska. The bus is perhaps not as fast as tube combined with Arlanda Express or as a taxi but it is on the other hand cheaper so it can remain a good option and it often runs every 15 minutes so a better option than the commuter trains (that run every half-hour and are notoriously unreliable). I often use it when it is not rush hour (as the traffic then makes it take too long) as the price is also reasonable (99 SEK one way if bough online or in the app, otherwise 119 SEK, or 945 SEK for 10 trips ). They have free wifi on-board, it is perhaps not super-fast but still works. The buses are clean and the service is fairly reliable so not at a ll a bad alternative for those living on the south side of town to get to Arlanda.

    Travellink

I give this service one star simply because it is not possible to give it negative stars, and I…read more must give a rating in order to post a review. Travellink (parent company is E-Dreams) is an enormous scam. Under no circumstances should anyone use this service...EVER! The short story is that our trip from Stockholm, Sweden, to NYC in April of 2020 had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. We were disappointed, but we understood the situation. Travellink refunded us our airline fees fairly quickly, and we expected the same of our hotel costs since we had received correspondence from them basically saying that was going to happen. Instead, we received a travel voucher that was supposed to be valid for up to two years and that we could redeem and use and not have any additional travel costs when the COVID-19 situation was brought under control. Not exactly what we wanted, but ok. All of this information came very quickly, and we thought everything was good to go. Until... Travellink sends another email 2 to 3 months ago advising me to use my travel voucher soon as it was due to expire on 17 June 2021. Well, short of the two-year extension we had been told that we had. So we called. Travellink goes to great lengths to dissuade unhappy customers from contacting them. The wait times to speak to a representative are upwards of 30+ minutes in most cases. Once you FINALLY get a customer service representative on the line, they immediately start by telling you how they understand that you are upset and they are going to do all they can within their power to resolve your situation. IF they are unable to help, they will escalate the issue to a superior, and you will hear from them "soon!" "Soon" never comes. Back to my travel voucher. I have this voucher that I must use before 17 June 2021 because it's obvious I won't get a refund or voucher extension. To use the voucher, you have to download their application. Click on the wallet icon in the app, and there's my voucher. Click on that and get redirected to the booking window...so far, so good. Go through the entire process of filling in all of the pertinent information (departure/arrival dates and locations, hotel accommodations, etc.). Get to the very very end and... "Oops! Something went wrong, and your search was interrupted!" You then have options to start all over or reload the same search criteria. I did both...several times and got the same "oops" message every single time. And the icing on the cake is that my customer service representative quite literally hung up on me in the middle of a sentence while I was attempting to have him book the travel for me while I had him on the phone. In other words, the app is designed to encounter a problem every time you get to the end of the booking process, and there is no actual customer service. I absolutely DO NOT recommend that anyone use this service at any time for any reason...ever. We are in the process of reporting the entire experience to ECC Sweden (European Consumer Centres Sweden). The ECC is a consumer advocates group that helps people who have been ripped off by unscrupulous businesses...like Travellink. Again...DO NOT use Travellink, especially, and it is recommended that when booking travel and accommodations, book directly with the airlines and hotels. It may cost a bit more but getting real customer service when problems occur is so much easier.
