PLS is 3 the one place that you get good customer service and they would have Western Union I just left the Balboa Sherman Way location and they told me that they've canceled the contract with Western Union I walk two and a half miles and they just kind of laughed at me and I left advice to anybody if you're not cashing a check big your family not to send Western Union Western Union is on his way out it's going to collapse I can't handle the weight of a cash app and stuff like that and unfortunately there's certain people that will only send it that way like my sister and I've spent 10 hours today going to too close to Walgreens at online said that they had Wells Fargo or Vons they said they didn't have an employee to do the work arouse who said he said the Racine hasn't worked in a year what else what else is one of their place oh liquor store who said the same thing it's down so thank God I had breakfast this morning because otherwise I wouldn't have eaten all day today thanks to Western Union and PLS is part of it oh and 7-Eleven there's not a single location in California that 711 takes Western Union I've been into about 50 of them over the past 2 years and they all say we don't do that anymore and I've never gotten a single Western Union money from 7-Eleven ever only Walgreens and they're all closing I think in California looks like read more

Collective shiesters at the Arleta store. They tried to charge me $50 to cash a check and said it was a western union charge . When I called western union I was informed that here was no w u charge. Then I called the pls in van Nuys and was told the cost was only $30. So these shiesty people went down on the fee. They tried to steal my money. read more

I normally come to this location because it's so close to where I live. I can just walk over. The problem with this location is when there is a line and there are 3-5 employees on the other side of the glass only 1 actually works. The others are doing something else. Or just laughing and joking with one another. I am ok with people enjoying their work, but please move the line along. I'm sure what your doing is important, but end of the day we are your customers. Bottom line if you see a line with more than 1 person waiting. MOVE ON. The wait is not worth it. Use this location at your own discreti read more

Great fast and easy service ! Breidi was quick and had a great attitude! This location is always my go to for money orders!

Today I walked into PLS saw a big line, as you can imagine the first thing that comes to mind is great how long am I going to be here on a Friday. As I was filling out my check and getting ready for my time at the window I found it a little difficult because I constantly had to stop because the line was being taken care of so quickly that I end up endorsing the check and putting my phone number at the window. To my surprise when I got to the window I was greeted by not only the staff but the managers on duty I did recognize the manager from another location in Lynnwood which used to be my main location I can see that the customer service transferred along with employee I must say this staff is on point when it comes to communicating and keeping the flow of traffic moving without lacking any customer service in the process. PLS I've been a customer not only with a personal account also a business account looking forward to continue doing business with you thank you for investing in your employees and promoting within it reflects the type of company I would like to do business with. Way better customer service than Union Bank where I briefly went to. Thank you read more

Val is a life saver !! We came in around 9pm and she was able to set up an account for my boyfriend and cash his check. Thank you for the amazing customer service and attention provided. We will be coming back again. Update to my review: I took off one star because I dealt with someone named Ashley today... she seemed to not like working there, it was my first western union payment I've ever done so I was hoping she would've helped me out but no she seemed annoyed that I didn't know 100% what I needed to do. She just did what she needed to do and as soon as transaction was done she pretended I wasn't there and started doing something else. I even said have a good night and either she didn't hear me or she just didn't care, I was shocked by her customer service or lack of... read more

Went there for a money order at 10 pm I needed for early the next morning and they were great. Everywhere else in the area stopped issuing money orders at 8 pm. I first called them to make sure they're doing money orders at that time and they actually picked up! Great customer service and reliable. A little bit of a wait in line but the money orders were free and the staff was very nice. read more

Their "supervisor" Amy is the most unprofessional person I've ever encountered in a business setting. I tried several times to explain that Western Union has a glitch in the system that made a previous transaction to a bank account for a business in Guatemala into a personal transaction as if I was sending to an individual and therefore the money didn't reach its destination and being that it was a mistake on Western Union's end they should allow me to reprocess without having to wait a 24 hour period. She continued to direct me to call WU myself to explain this and I told her I had done so twice already & I felt that because they are a call center in the Philippines I didn't think they understood the issue at hand. She reacted aggressively and rudely told me that they speak English in her country better than in any country she added and she mentioned herself being from there. I explained that it wasn't about the ability to speak English but about comprehension of the situation in the US and the system in the US. There is a clear difference between speaking a language and comprehension of policy and the system errors. She walked off after raising her voice at me and left me trying to resolve my issue alone. Western Union shouldn't use PLS as a third party if they hire rude ignorant people and even go as far as promoting a person with such a low educational level in a management position. I own my own business and have extensive skills in customer relations so I give the service industry the respect I expect in return. I will be contacting their corporate offices to address this issue directly with Western Union and PLS. I do not recommend doing business at this location read more

First time at a Western Union because my dad needed some money. I drove around to two other locations. One was out of service and the other was unexpectedly closed! I was a bit annoyed driving all the way out here, but the person helping me was extremely patient and kind! She can definitely tell I had no idea what I was doing and explained everything to me. I was in and out within 5 minutes. I didn't get her name, but her cashier ID appears as "AL" on the receipt. I just wanted to thank you for the great experience! read more

Been here a few times on my way back home from work when I don't make it in time over at my bank. It's not a bad place. IT'S OPEN 24 HOURS* The staff is usually friendly and professional. Why the 2 stars? Well this is why. I came in one night to cash my check and one of their employees had the audacity to ask me why my check was higher than the other checks I've cashed there before. I automatically felt disrespected because that is a personal question. My bitch switch turned on right away. I asked this idiot, 'Uhm, does it matter?', 'Well, this check is a lot higher than the ones you've chased here before that's why'. What a fucking prick! Who asks that? TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. Every time I go in there I look at him like the devil himself. I always give him the ugly look. I'm sure he knows I hate the living shit out of him. Other than that, this place is a good spot to go when everything else is closed. I wish I knew what this 'employees' name was, I would bash him like crazy here. Ps, they do charge a small fee to cash your check. Nothing crazy though. read more

This place is fantastic. They always help me cash my checks....!!!! I had a good experience a couple nights ago when I had my check. Casshed by a very polite helpful young man..... I can't remember his name .... He was so helpful . Went out his way to accommodate me and my wet check..... He didn't tell me to stand aside but dried the check himself!!!! Now that's helpful and OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE. HAD ON LOTS OF GOLD JEWELRY AND WAS DRESSED VERY NICELY... ONLY MAN WORKING AT THAT LOCATION.... I give then 1 start because i can't put just 0 start. Very bad customer service. employees are always mean, and slow every time i go there there is always some bs excuses to not know how to help their customers... They are always messing around with the other coworkers instead of doing their job, a job that they get pay to do, so at least they should pay attention to their customers. I strongly do not recommend this place you will loose your time with those people plus you will always see mad faces with no customer service at all. The owners should pay attention to their business because employees like those that they have will just make us customers never came back! And i give them at least 3 or 4 chances but always the same. read more

I come here all the time to cash my checks I have been coming to PLS for years now most of my checks are 5k and more every 2 weeks so you figure they would appreciate a customer that they make money off of David told me I was a VIP customer so I come in on February 21 st and some guy Juan was at the register I asked him how much you charge me he said 2% I said the last time I talked to the manager and she told me 1.7 no biggie but when I ask him if you can double check he got an attitude with me and was arguing with me like if I was someone on the street trying to talk to him or ask him for money felt so disrespected after so many years of coming here I will never step foot in a pls ever again because of Juan great job Juan keep it up I'm sure they will close the doors if they keep people like you read more

I met my friend tonight and told him I am sending money to my sister in Syria and he said, he is sending money to Egypt. We both live in Glendale, so I said then come pick me up so we don't have to go in two cars. I usually send the money from the office in Glendale on Central Ave. We both went there to the other office, and waited in line and we came to the window and my friend said, I am doing three transactions, two for me and one for him. She said, Juan, that is her name, you cannot do three transitions. He said, I am doing two and he is doing one. She said, 'Since you came together to the window and not one at a time, you cannot do but two transactions!!! I said, I am sending money to my sister in Syria, and he is sending money to Egypt. She said, no, you are splitting his three transactions!!! I asked for the manager and she said the same idiotic thing exactly!! You should not come to the window together because you are only allowed 2 transactions per person and since you came together to the window, you are only allowed 2 transactions as if you are one person!!! I thought that she was kidding!!! This is too unprofessional to believe! I am filing a case with the BBB and the Consumer affairs and I have the time to do that. So that they cannot abuse people like this...I know that there is a fear of money laundering in this area...but how can you say that sending 100 dollars to my sister in Syria and my friend sending few hundreds to his family in Egypt, how can you say that this is not allowed!!! No wonder you have that low rating, because you are limited mentally for sure to say if you come to the window together, you cannot split transactions....Why Glendale Western Union does not say that when I do four transactions at the same time every month on the same day? Who lets these employees act like this!? read more

It was my first time in this store. Well I'm gonna be honest it was my poor experience ever. My mom is in hospital I need to send money ASAP but this employee name Erica doesn't even wanna cooperate. Like ur store music is up I can't hear nothing from outside and this girl without cooperating as a nice employee you are giving me attitude. She needs to get fired ASAP. Don't even know how to talk nicely with customers. To me It felt like I disturbed her by coming to the store. She looked like she didn't expect anyone so she could sit on her ass and talk to their employees all night. read more

This was my first time returning to this location in over a year and as per usual, long line, so I was prepared for a wait. The customer service at this location has definitely improved. This is by far the word Check cashing and money order place. I recommend everyone to take your business elsewhere. The staff is rude, gives you attitude, and super slow. There's never any help and have you waiting for such a long time. And then they tell you they can't cash your checks. Stay away everyone. Worst PLACE EVER. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! I've never been so mistreated in my life. I was waiting for at least 30 minutes in line with my grandmother who's 65 years old and then this girl comes into the agency and starts making faces and signs trying to get this agents attention.. (supposedly her name is Ashley) so she can skip line and of course she got away with it. Right away I asked her why is she skipping line, why is she getting special treatment?. After that this girls starts cursing at me in front of everybody and no agent or supervisor (Jennifer) did nothing about it. Not even about people skipping lines or customers cursing and mistreating others. No security. Not actual manager in location. NO IDEA ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE WHATSOEVER. NEVER EVER EVER IN MY LIFE WILL COME BACK TO THIS LOCATION!!! Of course, I filed a complaint big time. Hope Joy the CR representative who I filed a complaint with will actually help me out with this. Just want Ashley and Jennifer to be accountable for their poor performance at work. read more

Every time I come here there is only one window open, a long line, and at least 4 giggling girls in the back doing nothing. Instead of helping out the customers who are already frustrated at seeing the workers doing nothing to assist them they rather gossip and laugh while trying to close out their register. Of course they are making mistakes such as misplacing receipts or transactions because they rather socialize then pay attention to the work they are doing. These workers are the reason many say don't raise the minimum wage. If they can't complete simple tasks then they are being overpaid the $10 hour and definitely don't deserve $15. As I am typing this there are two employees on their phones taking personal calls and two employees trying to put in paper in register since neither of them know how to. You would think there would be a supervisor present to make sure the operation is running smoothly, but of course not, she is busying arguing with an employee about the music selection on the radio and calling someone on her phone to get their opinion on the music. You would think they would be embarrassed about being unprofessional. That would be too much to ask of them. This review is being sent directly to the corporate office. Let's hope this review will stop them from laughing. read more

I will never go here again. The shift supervisor, I think the name was Joe, is the most miserable person I have ever dealt with in the customer service industry. I'm a manager in a hotel.
