Looks like this is a common issue in Chula Vista. Aside from the HOA, Western Towing company is a predatory company. The prices are ridiculous especially if you don't pick up your car within 24 hours. Luckily, it was less than 12 hours for us. Just be cautious of the price and what you're in for. read more

I understand they might help if your car breaks down, but it's unfair when they tow your car right in front of your home for missing a night permit, especially when you're not blocking or hustling anyone. SERIOUS TOWING DISPUTE -- DISABLED PARKING SPACE & VEHICLE DAMAGE On August 28, 2026, Western Towing removed my vehicle from a designated accessible parking space at Las Americas Premium Outlets while a valid disabled placard was prominently displayed. The written tow authorization I received identifies the alleged violation as "WALK-OFF, NON-CUSTOMER." I dispute both the basis for the tow and the characterization of the circumstances. I also discovered physical damage to my vehicle and damage to my dashcam associated with this incident. I have preserved photographs, records, and other documentation concerning the condition of the vehicle and the incident. I submitted formal complaints to the appropriate agencies and received case/complaint confirmation. I am not suggesting that the filing of a complaint itself constitutes a finding of wrongdoing. Importantly, Las Americas Premium Outlets management has now confirmed to me in writing that video footage and documentation of the incident have been preserved. Western Towing has also referred this matter to its corporate counsel, who has acknowledged my evidence-preservation request. The underlying dispute remains unresolved. I am intentionally limiting this review to facts that can be documented. Based on my experience, anyone whose vehicle is towed should immediately preserve the tow paperwork, photographs, receipts, vehicle condition evidence, and all written communications, and carefully review the stated basis for the tow. PREDATORY SLIMY BUSINESS I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with this experience. I was specifically told that I could park in the future resident parking area after normal business hours as long as my vehicle was moved before business hours began at 8:00 a.m. To my surprise, I discovered that my vehicle had been towed. Not only was I forced to deal with the inconvenience and stress of having my vehicle taken, but I was also charged an outrageous $440 fee for what wasn't even 15 minutes . What makes the situation even more frustrating is that the tow company transported my vehicle less than three miles away, and the entire process could not have taken more than ten minutes. To add to the frustration, when I returned to the property, there was another vehicle parked directly next to the spot where my vehicle had been parked. Ironically, that vehicle was still there, which only raised more questions about how these rules are being enforced and why my vehicle was singled out. If residents and prospective residents are given parking instructions, those instructions should be clear, accurate, and consistently enforced. Instead, I was left with an expensive bill and a very negative impression of how situations like this are handled. I would give a much lower rating if I could. A zero to be exact. My boyfriend had gotten his car towed after 12am on Saturday, they told him the amount would be 292 then added another 80 for keeping the car in the yard then added an extra 110 because THEY decided to tow it "after hours". My boyfriend then asked what the reason was and they told him it was not permitted on the property when both his and his grandmas car have authorization and are 100% permitted on the property, did the paper work and paid for it and everything. When he told the woman on the phone that she laughed at him and told him "well it got towed for a reason". Then when he asked if he could pick it up today they told him no because they were closed and then also told him that if he were to pick it up Monday when they were open an extra 80 would still apply. He got them to open it for a bit today and was able to get his car but is having an issue getting his grandma's car, they told him that they have no way of knowing if the are related and that she would have to give authorization to get the car and when he explained to them that she is currently in the hospital with brain damage they then told him for him or his mom to go and make themselves power of attorney, which they cannot do, due to her medical state. So they are forcing or trying to force them to become power of attorney when it legally can not happen. I am highly disappointed in this location, and I see why now, it already has a pretty low rating of a general 1.5, horrible service and these money hungry leeches will tow you even if it is "after hours" so they can get that extra pay and try to force you to pick it up the next day they are open and still charge you the extra 80. Western Tow is an absolute joke! Towed my spouses car out of her parking spot at our apartment complex last night. They literally have access to the system which gives them the assigned persons information and could have called her prior to towing her car. Brand new car so the permit sticker hadn't been changed over to it yet! No one reported the car to be towed! They should be able to take cars out of reserved spots unless the assigned person is asking for it to be towed! Also who the hell do they think they are that $370 is ok to charge for less than 12 hours of being on the lot? Also the lady at the front counter needs to learn some better customer service skills. To the HOA that towed our new car, we hope you choke on a chicken bone but for the towing company; they didn't damage our new Tesla at all and used proper dolly so really can't say anything bad about them. Before deciding to delete all the videos of when my car was towed, I actually decided to review them one by one. I now see that the jackasses that towed my car initially did not use a dolly, which will damage a Tesla if it's not manually placed in neutral. It's seems that only because of the lights flashing and horn honking, only then did they decide to put proper dollies under the vehicle. They did so in the middle of the street and used large tire irons to force the car high enough to get the dolly underneath which there's a good chance my car is probably screwed up underneath. Predatory! My car was just towed for a second time, while legally parked in front of my home.

Apart from the illegal way they took our car, the entire situation was handled with zero professionalism or transparency. The driver hooked the car as fast as possible without following basic safety procedures ( he had plenty of space to do so ) , clearly just trying to drag it out of our residential zone before we could ask any questions. We were literally standing next to the car, and he waited until he exited the area to start "fixing" the towing setup properly. On top of that, he gave us completely wrong information, which caused us to wait over 3 hours and eventually go home without the car -- all so they could charge extra storage fees. It felt intentional. But the real nightmare was the person at the front desk who claimed to be the manager. She refused to hear a single word, wouldn't let us finish a sentence, and her only response was basically "pay or leave." No explanation, no customer service, no professionalism. Just rude, dismissive, and shouting for no reason even though we were simply asking questions. I understand this type of business deals with frustrated customers, but that doesn't justify this level of disrespect. I'm not going to lie, my experience here did not come under good circumstances, but this is true of any towing company and the nature of their work. My rating is strictly about how this facility processes pick ups. They are on top of being informative and transparent about their fees and made picking up a car very easy. When I called to get the status of a vehicle, they provided all the information on the phone so I knew exactly what I was going to pay when I arrived. The lady at the counter who processes payment was very quick and if there is no line and you have your information with you, a transaction could take literally less than 5 minutes. Just have your license, proof of insurance or registration, and payment method available on hand immediately. Be mindful that there is a fee per day the car is there, as well as having to have the lot opened after hours in addition to the base pay. Be mindful of getting towed during the holidays or the weekends, those fees could add up. read more

Terribly ran business. They towed my boyfriend's work truck because he accidentally parked in a spot 17 instead of 27. The numbers were faded and couldn't make it out clearly. Tow company cannot tow unless they can clearly see the spot number which there is no way they could have. I know this because that's what they told me in the past. Besides that we called and asked what we need to get the vehicle out and they said a pay stub showing he works for the company. We show up with a pay stub and then they tell us we need all kinds of other documents to get the vehicle out. Like why didn't they say that on the phone so during the 2 hours we waited for them to open we could've had the paperwork ready? Wasting people's time to make money. Rude and not helpful. Let me first start with how rude the person at night was when we first got there. When I called, I was told the lot closes at 1pm so I rushed over and when I arrived I was told I had to wait 30 minutes (was not given a reason) and then I noticed the two men in the office were eating. I called back the number I had spoken with earlier and the woman called the office and relayed that they were taking their break. There is absolutely no reason that an employee should be taking a lunch break 40 minutes before the business closes (leaving only 10 minutes for wrapping up the business day). That is poor planning, poor staffing, poor customer service on their part. They either need to close for 30 minutes at the same time everyday, or stagger their lunch breaks. They towed my vehicle out of my (own) parking spot from my townhome due to the perception of my tags being expired. This makes no sense if it was my own assigned parking spot. My registration has been renewed but I was on a detachment for work, so I was unable to put my stickers on right away. Still baffles me they would grab it out of my own assigned parking spot lol. I feel bad for whoever drove a black Porsche because the lady who didn't seem to have her 6k forklift license carelessly was beating it up and dropping it.
