But, I'm only a little biased. :) I was so very genuinely excited for such a lovely lady to open such a lovely shop, and it fits perfectly into the new El Vado complex. A MUST DO for tourists, but locals should not shy away from the El Vado either. Grab a bite to eat at one of their great food venues, have a staycation in one of the rooms, and pick up your souvenirs at Southwest Cactus! There is a gift here for everyone on your list - cactus (of course!), air plants, succulents; homemade cards, earrings, and other décor; and yummy local honey and beeswax! Long distance family members once sent me lovely bouquets from Amor and another local florist. When I went to replace the water to keep the flowers fresh I noticed that the other shop's water had a decaying odor but the Amor water smelled fresh even after a week. And I just noticed a sign out front: FREE delivery in Belen!

This is my favorite nursery hands down. We now live in Phoenix, but we drive there and get trees. I…read morecan trust the trees have been grown with care and consciousness. We have been buying trees from Trees that Please for over 15 years, or so. We visit our old homes and these trees are still thriving and doing well. They are not fast growers by any means, but they are long lasting and beautiful. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. They even helped us pick out a cactus. We came from Phoenix to buy a cactus in Los Lunas. This is how much we believe in the plants from this nursery. I hate to waste money so we shop at Trees That Please.

Hello, I'm writing a review to let you know what we…read moreexperienced here, we bought a couple of trees and plants from here. (Trees that please)They recommended a guy that does their delivery and planting for them. So we had him deliver and plant our trees , on delivery day he brought his girlfriend to help unload the heavy trees which they dropped one on the asphalt and broke the root ball, Ian the delivery and planter guy said it should be ok , and for us to monitor it and let him know, because he would replace it at no charge since it was his fault since he dropped it and broke the rootball. it looked dead the day he planted it. It never did anything to get better. he ignored our messages and calls for several weeks then finally responded to us that there was nothing he could do, so we went to the business and spoke to the manager on duty which said the best she could do was sell us another one for half price. Keep in mind we paid full price for each tree, was charged for delivery fee which was about 7 miles from us. (We didn't have the correct vehicle to pick it up ourselves) And of course paid a planting fee.. so quite amount of money was paid for all this. (Which was over $2100.00) I feel this was quite unfair how this was handled, they should of replaced our tree at no cost, and collected the loss from Ian since he was the cause of killing this tree, I also would not recommend this kid in the future. He is not professional and definitely did not keep his word on making this right. We purchased another one and we will have to pick it up and now plant ourselves. So the money we invested into making our yard look nice didn't go as well as we expected. Btw.. this is a new house built this year in April. As well as taking a loss on the money spent. I did email the company today on this. As I'm still very upset on this ordeal. We'll see if they respond to me. Regards, F. Vigil

Clarabelle and Salomon are a fantastic couple. Their business is called New Mexico Harvest Gifts…read moreand is essentially two wonderful local farmers selling their produce and crafts mostly at farmers markets. I don't recall how long ago I started buying from them, but it's been over a decade. Since we started buying from them, they have have become our sole provider of chile, chile pequin, chipotle, chicos and pecans for our family. We get pinto beans (frijoles), flowers and produce from them as they harvested. This year we've been treated to amazing lemon cucumbers. If you're not familiar with them, you are missing out. So good! Their address and number is lovingly placed on your product so you can let them know if you'll be wanting larger quantities of something or buying gifts outside the days/months of farmers markets. To me it's also a personal assurance of someone standing behind their product. I love knowing I'm supporting a loving, hardworking couple that cares about their product because they care about their customers. If you get the chance to know them, you'll find just how special they are. I think it's fun knowing how the crops are doing, how the rain (or lack thereof) is affecting the grow. For instance, they normally grow in Corrales but this year, 2013, the lack of rain forced them to move the crops to Espanol, where she is from. Knowing they live in the East Mountains, do chile grinding and chico preparation in Socorro and make weekly trips to Roswell for some chile products tells me they put in quite a commute for my food. In short, they are excellent farmers and great people with superb products. I highly recommend them.

One employee asked me what I needed but she couldn't see it on the shelves. So I went home to get some parts and took a photo of the pump label for size. When I went the second time she was busy and I stood around waiting and finally got the attention of another employee. I showed him the photo and he looked up on Google a compatible one they had. He got up on the ladder and brought down a box. We went up to the front to check out. When he told me the price I nearly fell over but bought it anyway. One of the employees said I could return it if I needed to. I get home, tell my husband who looks up the item on Amazon and instead of being $490 from Mudd Monsters, it is $285, a $200 mark up. That was ridiculous, even if I do want to support local, the mark up was absurd. So the next day, I take it back and Randal was super rude to me. Flinging the receipt at me then flinging the pen at me. Telling me I should support local. And then, guilt tripping me into why his business is failing. I have been to this store several times in the past. But never again. In this economic climate he cannot get away with mark ups like that and then blame the customer for being smart with their money and choose elsewhere to shop. The store isn't set up or diversified to fit the current economic climate. I wish him the best of luck. But he's just lost another customer.
