Always fun playing Penn Valley. Lots of trees, some OB water shots. Be careful other than that. Lots of fun.

I hadn't ever considered wine with fruit pies, but it actually was quite good, and very tasty. The property is absolutely beautiful, tranquil and very relaxing. There are several areas to just sit, sip and take it all in. Why go all the way to Napa or Sonoma as this is just as good! Plus some of the varietals come from grapes in the Napa Carneros region; especially the delicious Chardonnay and the crisp, fruity and light Pinot Grigio. They are especially known for the rich, hearty Barbera which is a standout. The Owner gave an informative briefing on the establishment and everything was so well organized, friendly and most enjoyable. Many of us left with bottles, I had six, to have later at home. I highly recommend this winery and will return!

I picked this place because not only is it dog friendly but it has one of my favorite red wines, The Reunion. I stopped by with my mom on a Friday afternoon, and the patio was fairly full with four or five other parties. There was only one person serving, so the tastings took a little longer to come out. I ended up enjoying a glass of rosé, which was perfect for such a hot afternoon. I'll definietly be back soon to pick up more bottles!

We invited friends and family for an afternoon tasting, grabbed lunch from the café next door, and expected a warm local winery experience. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the most disappointing tasting room visits we've had. The biggest issue was the complete lack of hospitality and awareness toward an older woman in our group recovering from knee surgery. There was no accommodation, no concern, no acknowledgment whatsoever. Instead of any table service or attentiveness, we repeatedly had to get up and walk inside the tasting room over and over for every single pour. By the end of the tasting, we got more steps in than a cattle drive. The two ladies working behind the counter looked like they were counting the minutes until closing time. No smiles. No energy. No effort to educate us about the wines, engage with guests, or make anyone feel welcome. We honestly felt more like an inconvenience than paying customers. I've seen friendlier expressions on bulls during branding season. What makes this especially frustrating is that the tasting room wasn't even busy -- there were maybe three other couples there besides our group. This wasn't staff being overwhelmed. It simply came across as lazy, disengaged, and rude service. The only thing flowing less than the hospitality was the wine pours. What surprised us most is that we've visited several other local wineries in the area over the years and have consistently experienced warm hospitality, friendliness, and genuine customer care. So this experience really stood out -- and not in a good way. Usually wine country feels welcoming. Here, we felt like a herd that wandered into the wrong pasture. Such a shame because the location and concept have so much potential, and we really wanted to support a local winery so close to home. Sadly, our guests left just as disappointed as we did. This tasting experience had less warmth than a steel feed trough in January. Mad Cow Review Rating: -- Two Bulls Down Great opportunity. Terrible hospitality. Would've had a better customer experience being licked by a pasture cow.

We also upgraded our experience from smores & fireplace outdoors, to a YURT! Best decision ever & it was our BEST winery experience ever! It was just perfect & magical! The yurt had 2 heaters, but we quickly turned one off. It wAs equipped with blankets & pillows! It was so cozy feeling. Our table was so nicely decorated, like out of a magazine! The experience came with a charcuterie board and 5 wine tastings. Everything was so good! Not a fan of White wine, but it's something about high elevation wineries...makes white taste yummy! Tucked away in Clarksburg, this woman-owned winery is charming and intimate. The parking lot is small (around 15 cars), but it's conveniently located right off the main road, so it's easy to find. Wine highlights: * 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon (bestseller): rich and layered with ripe strawberry, plum, mocha, and a hint of spice * 2023 Montepulciano (2026 SF Chronicle Gold Winner): light, easy drinking with raspberry, cranberry, and herbal notes * 2023 Durif (my favorite): dark, bold, and complex with blackberry, plum, and a smooth structured finish * 2021 Blanc de Noir sparkling: light, crisp, and bubbly * 2025 Verdejo (new release): fresh, aromatic with peach and citrus Wine flights (any 4) are only $15: great value. They put small stickers to indicate the wine on each tasting glass. Food: Four cheese panini and Reuben panini are solid picks, served with kettle chips or salad. Service: friendly, decent speed Wine club is also very accessible: no membership fee to join, with 3 tiers (4, 6, or 12 bottles), and complimentary tastings for up to 4 guests. Restroom: 2 (two) (all genders): spacious, clean. The atmosphere is what really makes this place stand out: well-manicured grounds with fragrant roses, apricot trees, a charming chicken coop area, and a beautiful open event space with hanging lights. Live music every Saturday and every other Sunday adds to the experience. They also offer private event spaces where you can bring your own food (just purchase their wine), which makes it a great spot for celebrations. Overall, a perfect little weekend escape if you're looking for a relaxed, intimate winery experience. Bonus: they even have a cozy corner dedicated to adoptable cats: each with their own name and personality profile. Currently 3 boys and 1 girl, $150 per cat.

The entire place has a cute, farm-style feel--very country, open, and spacious. They offer outdoor seating as well as beautiful long, communal wooden tables inside. There's a small open kitchen where you can watch the staff preparing the food, and the restrooms were clean and surprisingly spacious. They also carry local donuts, which were absolutely worth trying. We had the apple fritter, which was soft and delicious with the perfect crispy exterior. Our favorite was the almond bar--it was delicate, flaky, buttery, and so good. We also tried a cookie that was equally delicious. For lunch, we ordered the turkey sandwich, which was piled high with turkey and crisp vegetables, the bourbon bacon jam toast with melted brie, and a classic BLT. We kept it simple with water, which is available as self-serve. It was a beautiful day to enjoy the outdoor space. They have cornhole and bocce available to play around the property, adding to the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The staff was incredibly kind, and they also have a small market area featuring drinks, local products, and other items for sale. The entire place is quaint and adorable, both inside and out. I highly recommend Blue Barn Provisions for lunch or brunch if you're in the Pollock Pines area! :) dog friendly.

The Toneys built the whole 18 hole course up themselves in the last few years on their property, and the whole thing is irrigated with well water pumped by solar power. Most of the course is flat, while there are about four "bowl holes" that take you down and out of a valley, including one with a 250 ft. drop. Fortunately there's not too much brush, so you'll probably be able to find your disc when it goes astray. Camping here was great too. The plots are spread out, and it's not crowded. You can rent one of their spacious teepees for $30, and swim in their kind of icky yet refreshing pool with the frogs and water skippers. The Toneys were great hosts, and went golfing with us.
