This place has always been hit or miss, but in the last 2 years it has really gone downhill. The pricing has always been random, but if you shopped it hard you could find some really good deals. The prices have more than doubled in the last couple of years, often to more than what you would pay at discount stores like W-mart. They used to have a half price weekend that made it worth consideration, but that's been dropped during covid. Most of the non-food merchandise is returns from Costco, Sams, etc and it's in used condition, but the asking price is often more than the new price at Costco. The food is always near or beyond the expiration date, and I've purchased cookies etc that have already turned rancid. Yuck. The staff is not very friendly or helpful, and it surprises me that this outlet is run by a christian foundation. I continue to check it out once or twice a year, but each time have been disappointed and shocked by the high prices for salvage products. I'm surprised that folks continue to shop there, but maybe they are just uninformed. Hemet has some better bargain stores. read more

I cannot believe the products/furniture/every day household items/food/vegetables in this huge facility! It's a hidden gem that once you go once it will be a weekly stop for sure! Always Incredible Finds at Western Eagle! Not only do they have the greatest prices in the area, but they are a NON-PROFIT that feeds over 300 families in our community weekly! Everythi ng you purchase from here supports the organization. Whenever Im struggling with income I head to western eagle to get one of their INCREDIBLE food boxes. No questions asked you write your name down, pay $15, and get a box of pantry and produce items. Some places make you really uncomfortable when you get discounted food, but not here. Everyone is so friendly they make you feel like family when you walk in. If you have food allergies, there always seems to be items that are gluten and dairy free available. We shop at Western Eagle about once a week, occasionally we purchase the Cold Box which is $15.00. There is an incredible selection of their items in the cold box, high quality groceries....lots of organic items. Then the fresh produce is great...sometimes there are a few items that I would pass over...but basically it's a great deal. There are also frozen meats - beautiful steaks.....and the rest of the canned goods are very good deals....Be sure to check the dates...We love Western Eagle!! read more

I always enjoy going out to Western Eagle! For me, it's like a trip! 1st Saturdays are cool because pretty much everything is half off. However, you have to be willing to deal with the heat and all the people walking all close to you. Back in the day, it seemed like we were able to get better deals, but now, some of the items are cheaper at Walmart! One thing Walmart can't beat though is their price on chips - $0.10 for a bag of chips... I usually get about $10 worth! I love that mostly all of the workers are volunteers and are always very nice. That makes me happy and makes me want to support the foundation even more! read more

When you walk in, there's a big sign on the left talking about expired medications and how it's still safe to use them. So you should know that you're bound to get expired things or things close to their expiration date. With that said, if you're looking for snacks, this is a good place to come. They have 12 cliff bars for $3, tons of chocolate, trail mix, cereal, chips, etc. They also have baby stuff (car seats, bath stuff), pet food, very limited selection of female hygiene and adult diapers, home decor, limited furniture and stationary, and very, very limited produce--some of which is organic. I've been shopping here since they were down by the Temecula DMV and it's still great. A little known place Western Eagle is a non-profit organization that acts as a clearinghouse for Ikea, Doc Martin, and other name brand retainers. You have to be very delegent when looking at dates on food products or you will end up throwing them away when you get home or try returning them. They have really up their prices so paying 2 dollars for something expired is asking to much. They say they are nonprofit but know they are making a profit for sure. Just found this spot after a long while since they moved from their old location by the VFW on Diaz Rd. It's like a Costco set up now and they have everything from food, to housewhole goods, to clothes, to furniture and electronics. I walked in today and everything seemed to be 50% off. I quick scanned and saw $200 coffee/capuccino combo makers for $50. Jeans for $2.50 each (some donated and some new). They have the food box for $25 dollars which will feed a family of 4 for a week (meat, veggies, bread, fruits, pasta and can foods). The staff is awesome for being 80% volunteers. All the money you spend here (or little I should say) goes back into the community to help fund other programs. There is no entrance fee or membership or income verification. I saw everything from 40 year old cars to brand new BMW's in the parking lot so, everybody is welcomed. I walked out today with a 12-pack of Guarana soda, all for the low price of..........$1.00! read more

They say they are decicated to feeding the hungry.. WHAT A JOKE! Most of the food is expired, or very near experation. Its all donated to them and then they charge more than retail, except for the food box, its $15 dollars, and expired junk, nothing to make a meal, old yogurt, sour cream, or cream cheese, and milk... maybe a orange juice, even if it is sometimes organic, its expired 90% of the time. Most of the produce is always rotten. The poor that go there are desparate and that 15 bucks is a lot for them, so sad!!! The whole warehouse stunk like rotten food last time I went. This man that owns this place must be making millions on all this donated crap, and nothing is free for the poor or hungry! People go in tgere and buy thinking its their contributions to helping feed the poor... I get the chips for 10 cents for kids, and sometimes they are even stale! Gotten too big for it's britches! I can get a jar of this or a bottle of that for .79 at the store, here it's marked 1.00 . It should be .50 right. Many items are priced above what you can get in store on a sale or the .99 cent store. The furniture and decorating items are usually 50% off. That's the ONLY WAY they could ever sell this stuff. And once in awhile could someone go thru and take out the damaged stuff and put it in a clearance pile? No they want full price for it and won't take any less. Forget this place. This place is awesome. everything you need and use. It has food, health and beauty products, furniture, house hold items, seasonal stuff, and most importantly, clothes. They buy stuff from stores at a discounted rate and sell it at that low price, then turn around and feed families in need. I've been going for years, and it just keeps getting better. If you really want to save money, go there on the first Saturday of the month, because almost everthing is 50% off. Today on my way home from Romoland I stopped by the store with a friend who recommended it. Honestly, I cannot believe how much food you get for their $25 box deal. Literally, it would be over $100 at costco or any major grocery store. For this small fee I received two boxes full of brand name milk, juice, rice, beans, salad dressings, yogurt, meat, etc. along with a ridiculous amount of tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, nectarines, green beans- the list goes on! This warehouse isn't the nicest or most organized facility, but their prices and friendly volunteer stuff makes up for it. On top of the box deals they have some nice discounts on furniture, they are mostly products that didn't sell in stores or household items that were returned (irons, coffee pots etc). Everything I saw was in pretty good condition, some of the food on the shelves was expired but probably only 10% of it. I went for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised. The inside looks like a warehouse but the prices are unbelievable. They have a lot of holiday decorations priced almost to nothing. I got a couple of 24" berry wreath for $5 each. I can't even buy a grapevine wreath for that price. I went home with another green wreath for $10, a couple of swags for a $1 each, a box of fruit filler for$4 and 5 flameless candles for $4 each. I didn't really lget the chance to look around because I was pressed for time but I will definitely be back! read more

The food box seemed like a great deal but after I got home and started using the products, I realized that some of it was expired. For example, milk - expired by 1 day (was still good and I put in freezer until ready to use immediately), chips - expired by 5 months (1 bag stale so far), bag of pre-cooked rice - expired by 1 year and 5 months. I figured the rice had probably been frozen and was willing to give it a shot. It said to boil the bag - which I did and it was clear there was a leak in the bag as water got in and seasoning came out into the boiling water. A bag of pre-cooked fajita vegetables had some sort of leak which made a mess in the car. There were 2 bags of meat mix - fajita meat I belive - that had no expiration printed on the packaging. Made me a little leery - but we ate it last night and no one died. ;) I realize that for $25, I'm not getting primo food and it's better then nothing. However, I'm concerned about safety when it comes to things like that. Additionally, if they are going to give you items that are expired, that should be made clear. It's not quite giving it away and I would have felt better if that was explained upfront when they told me how things worked. Some items were things I will never use such as Wasabi cheddar cheese. 4 lbs of it - a waste for us unless I can find someone that wants it. Wasabi isn't a taste many people have. I hate to say beggars can't be choosers because it's not free and I'm not begging, but that's probably the attitude I should have about this stuff. They also have a box of meat for $35 - but based on the items that were expired in the $25 box, I can't help but wonder what will be expired in the $35 box. The vegetables were plentiful! some more past their prime than others, but I have never come home with so much produce from a shopping trip. Wow! Some items will be new to cook such as spaghetti squash and turnips - but I'm game to try. The rest of the store was an eclectic mix of things with many individual snack food items (seemed reasonably priced but i would check the expiration), furniture (waaaay overpriced), cookware (seemed overpriced - example $59.99 for a pressure cooker that was half off $120. That may be a great deal for the brand or something but seemed out of place in a store that's catering to people on a limited income). That's probably how they manage to stay in business though so I shouldn't complain. I'm not sure if I'll go back again next week or not. read more

Such a neat place! They have a good selection of non perishable foods, just make sure you check the expiry date. They also always have a bunch of makeup and personal care items. My favorite is looking at all the furniture and home decor stuff! Yes it is a bit pricey (but they usually have 50% off) but it's REALLY nice stuff! I think it is donated from macys maybe? Very pottery barn feel. They also always have a bunch of floral stuff for crafting. For me the best deals that you can't beat anywhere else is the chips! What a great bargain store! Years ago, when they were located of Diaz, I purchased a shelving unit for $50, which was currently being sold at IKEA for $99. Score! My more recent find was 3 bathroom trash cans for $0.50 each. Such great finds on the non-food items.
