When I got home I noticed that ALL the fruit that was given to me was moldy and rotten. I had gotten bree cheese that was expired and most everything was expired for about 3 to 4 days already and there was a lot of sweets and candy....... not much to feed a family of 4 on. However 2 gallons of milk are still good for 7 more days. My Mother used to tell me beggars cant be choosy, but moldy/rotten food is like a slap in the face when your already feeling down and out. I thank all the very friendly people working and volunteering.

Also, I can think of no one more dedicated to helping animals in need than co-founders Maya and Kalli. They quite literally put their lives on the line for animals, spending weeks on the ground rescuing animals from the Palisades and Eaton wildfires. They also work tirelessly to ensure the animals at their sanctuary have the best quality of life. If you're able to support or visit the sanctuary, I highly recommend doing so -- they host really great events!
